  1. Based on finances and how the manager is all rose tinted spec about all the players in a sick way I don't want him to come back and do well. I want him to play and help and give isak a rest and less pressure on osula of course. However any decent run and eddie will want to keep him as we supposedly hold a year option on him I think it's time we part ways.
  2. Calibre of the opposition aside we have 2 more games that week don't we? Got to be mindful of those who have played alot and who has niggles howe simply doesn't divulge. Could see us doing what we did a few seasons ago strong bench incase we get a scare but very much the B team. Too early for Kraft to get some mins? Is Targett alive enough to start or not risked as we look to loan or sell him? Schar has had the rest through suspension but then we have 2 games in 3 days. Could very much be a banana skin game if we take it too lightly.
  3. He isn't as good at alot of goal keeping attributes as Pope. However looking at how easy it is for him to receive the ball back and distribute the ball is so much better than Pope. Its laughable how bad Pope is with his feet kicks straight out or straight to the opposition ultimately don't help the fluidity of our game. I think this decision is a good one as gives Pope longer to recover and keeps the changes to the back 5 to a minimum while on a good run. However if we have offered him loads more money or a 2 year extension then I will be pissed. Iam fine with him staying as is and revisiting in the summer when we have had a larger sample of games to see how it panned out. All depends what we needed to offer to make him stay on.
  4. So pleased people's fears that we weren't going to make any signings this window great early business 🤣
  5. Pope is back just not full training and we have 5 keepers in the books if psr wasn't a thing letting players go for free if it suits us is fine but that's not the reality. We aren't good sellers at all and if there is money to be made for someone at the wrong end of his career and save wages and go to a new no1 or a real threat to Pope then it needs to be done.

Keeping 3 arsenal players at bay just wow didn't get to show his attacking qualities in the second half so showed his defensive smarts instead. Looking more and more like a bargin with each game he starts.
  7. When he came back in last season if he left in the summer he would have snuck out the back door to next to no fan fare least this way he has had a mini redemption arch and if we do get this magic 5 to 7 million he's help the cause financially as well fair play 👏👏👏
  8. Hard to tell the presser Eddie said that he's now back on the grass whatever that means but not in full training.
  9. I don't think it's a PIF owned club though. If I remember it correctly when reports first dropped that a Saudi club was looking for a keeper included in the list was dubs. If true it may be that it's now or never. I know finances aren't an issue over there but they don't have to "do us a favour" and just wait for the summer and get him for nothing. Still think if they are willing to drop a fee on him it's now or never to "cash in".
  10. Hard to tell first half was end to end but after the second we are trying to preserve tired bodies and conceded the play to Arsenal which makes it look like arsenal are dominant but aren't carving out clear cut now we in a low block. Chances for both sides we just been more clinical.
  11. Already hate itv commentary seem to get overly excited when arsenal bomb forward
  12. True but if we are wanting real competition for the number one it's not going to come from a soon to be 36 proven at times to be sub par dubravka. All for rewarding players who work hard but a winning run with him having little to nothing to do because of a working midfield and defense because he can pass out is nuts. If and this is now a list of ifs here but if we are going to get 5 or 6 million for him and he goes with recent fond memories for us likely be offered a longer deal and more money how can we compete with that? If I was dubs yes I would listen to a Newcastle offer to stay but realistically he's a beating away from a fit Pope coming straight back in we aren't in Europe this season and so don't need to rotate really. If I was to sign on and stay I would want more than 12 months and more wages so again back to the if bit if we were to do that to get him to stay who is going to sign him when we done with him? Will the Saudis wait? Will we be stuck with him and God forbid cost us even more in wages if we did have to offer him a pay bump. Not saying the Greek fella is a special talent forest nearly doubled there money for a PSR scam but if its short term and if it then allows dubs to make us good money why not? If the Greek fella does good and we still don't want him he has made appearances to be put in the shop window. If he does badly Pope is soon to return.
  13. What if the only willing buyer walks away and moves on to other targets and we are stuck with him or don't go on to secure a fee for him. No promises that we will be able to have our cake and eat it keeping him longer than this window.
  14. Fuck no to a contract extension he was shite last season and reaks of a miggy style live to regret it miggy contract extension. Ben jacobs on one of the local podcast shows states its 8m dollars so around 6m if true sell up and move on. The Greek lad has champions league experience and cost us 20m just give him a go.
  15. They won't all have a winter window tax and we have season achievebeable goals to push for that recruitment may help with. As you say players with release clauses, players falling out of favour , players running down there contracts and clubs getting squeaky bums on, clubs with financial issues all must have players we can target for fairer value up the club to find them.
  16. Craig no hope in his latest depression tinged youtube rumblings made the leap to say let outgoings happen where you can but do without their replacements to put more money to summer which won't help the rest of the seasons trophy and top 5 push
  17. I think you may be right but unless the youth players fill the gap and step up next season or our out of contract players extend the "war chest" won't go as far in the summer as people may hope as we need squad players and starting 11 improvements too.
  18. I haven't read the article but it doesn't take much to be "better" in the summer we haven't upgraded the immediate starting 11 in 2 windows potentially after January 3 windows.
  19. I think kraft and schar are the only 2 for me. Longstaff isn't over in the summer we reportedly triggered a year extension so it's 18months left. My biggest concern is rumour has it howe wanted to keep Dummett and Ritchie but only let them go as manu get the European spot so if that happens again and we do get Europe next season do we try and keep all of them? We need to move on from these fringe player/cheerleader players save the wages and invest but it's the constant circle of how do you find the replacements when they are going for free and you need to find the outlay in full for replacements.
  20. I mean I don't blame them at all if we had endless spending power paying 70/80m now might be a nice enough over pay to change their thoughts paying the going rate of 40/50m makes no sense to a club wanting to get maximum value for them. We would be equally fierce in our holding on to the likes of Gordon unless it was crazy money. Agree with most we need Mitchell to identify mbuemo elsewhere before he became mbuemo hopefully in the 15-30m bracket to stretch our funds and if these mystery players do come do well and want to move on there is good profit for us to go again.
  21. Brentford have a chance of making European football this season and based on this season baring major injury his stock is continuing to rise not sure why they would help us out with a loan and a deferred payment makes no sense unless we are the only likely buyers come the summer which again seems unlikely.
  22. I think finances are such that to get Mbuemo in you would have to sell one of your big hitters therefore weakening 1 area to increase another. Got to hope Mitchell finds a player out there capable of becoming Mbuemo before the 50/60m+ price tag.
  23. 36 in a month and 6 month left on his deal massively deflates his value even taking current form into account.
  24. While it would be great the club was able to look at 3 in I think unless it's unknown bargains or us venturing into the loan market I feel it will be 1 in 1 out unless it's to pad the youth/development squad. The Upturn in results unfortunately don't change this seasons financial predicament and while it may be opportunity lost to capitalise while the good feeling is back it's hardly possible based on what the club have been banging on about the last few months leading to this window.
  25. 31 next month and 18 months left on deal I think and no longer a first team starter I can see why the price has dropped. We don't know how solid the offers have been last 2 windows but maybe the club have accepted to get the player interested in a deal and his new club to afford wage demands then we take the hit to move him on. Frees up wages and assume his balance on the books is now minimal.
