  1. I mean I don't blame them at all if we had endless spending power paying 70/80m now might be a nice enough over pay to change their thoughts paying the going rate of 40/50m makes no sense to a club wanting to get maximum value for them. We would be equally fierce in our holding on to the likes of Gordon unless it was crazy money. Agree with most we need Mitchell to identify mbuemo elsewhere before he became mbuemo hopefully in the 15-30m bracket to stretch our funds and if these mystery players do come do well and want to move on there is good profit for us to go again.
  2. Brentford have a chance of making European football this season and based on this season baring major injury his stock is continuing to rise not sure why they would help us out with a loan and a deferred payment makes no sense unless we are the only likely buyers come the summer which again seems unlikely.
  3. I think finances are such that to get Mbuemo in you would have to sell one of your big hitters therefore weakening 1 area to increase another. Got to hope Mitchell finds a player out there capable of becoming Mbuemo before the 50/60m+ price tag.
  4. 36 in a month and 6 month left on his deal massively deflates his value even taking current form into account.
  5. While it would be great the club was able to look at 3 in I think unless it's unknown bargains or us venturing into the loan market I feel it will be 1 in 1 out unless it's to pad the youth/development squad. The Upturn in results unfortunately don't change this seasons financial predicament and while it may be opportunity lost to capitalise while the good feeling is back it's hardly possible based on what the club have been banging on about the last few months leading to this window.
  6. 31 next month and 18 months left on deal I think and no longer a first team starter I can see why the price has dropped. We don't know how solid the offers have been last 2 windows but maybe the club have accepted to get the player interested in a deal and his new club to afford wage demands then we take the hit to move him on. Frees up wages and assume his balance on the books is now minimal.

    St James' Park

Nope just a rehash of stuff that came out of the night at the stack ages ago except this one chunk of txt Interestingly, Chronicle Live understands that club insiders have now seen some images and early drafts on what a revamped St James' Park and a new stadium elsewhere in the city could look like. Those images are not yet for public consumption but are believed to be breathtaking according to sources close to the project. So a pointless article except to confirm that there is a chance when something is released it will come with draft/sample renders
  8. Craig no hope confirmed there isn't one
  9. He holds a value despite his age and his now niggly injury record because he's still got something albeit probably now in smaller doses. It's hard having him around say in a European campaign would be fantastic for his experience. However off field issues/injuries/age and we need to be better sellers is it worth trying to get 8/10m for him or just let him run his 18months down and get nothing. Iam not sure what the clear answer is as you would be back to kraft being Tino's backup and neither of them can do what trips does with kraft picking up 1 year extensions we are eventually going to need more competition for tino and money from trips sale could aid that.

    Dan Burn

We were ahead very early and playing a against a team with a known high line playing and inviting players on to you to make space is a tactic and it was effective as we won and kept a clean sheet. My issue is that ponderous build up is also his game when we are behind and chasing the game and need some speed or cutting edge. Obviously as I say not a criticism of him as a defender just miss having that element available to us without botman.

    Dan Burn

This isn't a criticism of him at all but hate how much has to go through him for build up. Great defender I think he's shown he is but playing out the back with him is either slow, held onto for ages and given to schar or a ball struck too softly or too hard to hall to do something with.

    St James' Park

While they talk about a once in a lifetime spend and getting it right if we move surely you do the design footprint allowing to have a design which you can expand if the need arises. Hard to know what we could fill consistently for most fixtures as don't know what the % of season ticket and general sale will be not having it and needing it though as you got the figure wrong is more damaging income wise than over shooting the fugure and needs to be a stadium we need to "grow" into.
  13. It was a quiz question and while I believe team bonding may suggest bunk with someone two grown rich men sharing a room for the night seems extremely unlikely. It is just interesting from a human prospective how easy it was baring in mind he's hardly been with the group very long to come to that conclusion. Nowt much in it really not something to draw conclusions from.
  14. To be fair Murphy and longstaff did also agree didn't they? They wouldn't elaborate though. Maybe he's just the high energy joker certainly the hair colour change and wanting to break into dance with bruno says he's at the very least a character.

    Joe Willock

Think I mentioned in one of the follow up posts we had him on loan where he scored 8 goals in 14 (now very much showing as a one off purple patch) we signed him and since signing he has then went on to score 8 goals in 86 appearances. Which i don't think is good enough when his qualities are in the side already ie carrying the ball forward and pace which we get from hall and Gordon already and can't offer the finishing of Barnes or the defensive game of big joe. Without shifting it to a was it a good idea to get Barnes if willock was the back up to Gordon fine but right now he's not ahead of the main 3 and 3rd on the list for the left wing. Due to psr issues I would sell in a heartbeat just don't think at the probably 30m plus we would want we would get many takers.

    Joe Willock

I want to give him the break but he's an attacking midfielder with 6 goals in 86 appearances. He's obviously a lower standard to bruno and tonali and can't help but appear a weak link. He's quality is running with the ball and carrying us up the pitch both of which hall and Gordon do already. He's not physical like big joe and can't do the defensive or combative stuff as its clearly not his game. Our midfield has been upgraded and through no fault of his own our team is going to develop past the need for him. As I say in a none psr world he can do a job in the midfield and wing and can work as a good squad addition on his day he can be a real asset. But in a psr world I don't think he contributes enough that his sale couldn't contribute to someone better the injuries have obviously falted his momentum and who knows if he will ever recover the edge or spark that's gone missing.

    Jacob Murphy

It's not the same but the club made that mistake with the miggy purple patch where we for whatever reason said to ourselves that we can wait this lads doing great. Murphy i am sure would be happy being a rotation option we need that high calibre option. If his form delays a signing until the summer or allows us to go for a less proven cheaper option as Murphy is good competitive then yes iam definitely for that. But would prefer to sign now as miggy still looks the headless chicken when he comes on. Murphy has been excellent and no taking anything away from him but we have had him on the books long enough to know his form can be hot and cold. Also he's definitely benefiting from Gordons work down the left leaving space on the right and Isak dropping deeper geting more involved in the general play giving good space for Murphy to pounce on.

    Joe Willock

If he's an attacking midfielder or a winger since his loan in 2021 he's yet to beat his goals total from that one loan spell combined the other seasons that followed. He's 26 next summer and entering his supposed prime years but can't stay fit can't impact the game enough and has never hit the heights of his loan spell with us despite much better manager and players around him. As I say don't want to sound negative off the back of the win but he feels like so many "nearly men" never kicked on from early promise. I want to be proven wrong but right now we're not getting back the 25m plus whatever the loan fee or so we spent on him he's a gamble sort of player for any potential buyer may kick on being the main man somewhere or never quiet regardless where he goes.
  19. nufcjmc

    Joe Willock

In an none psr world you keep him for his running and energy and I think peak willock offers something different to the other midfield players however what we are seeing is more non impactful or poor performances obviously mitigation by the injuries stacked on one another. Maybe the injuries is holding back or he has lost something due to the impact of them. Right now if we could get our money back I would snap your hands off.

    Joe Willock

Without any injury or suspension he's not going to get that time we spent big money on him 6 goals in 86 appearances no idea of the assists but we can't afford to "carry him" it's frustrating as we seen sparks of something great. 26 next summer and in a psr world I feel his time to deliver will run out.

    Joe Willock

Don't want to be a negative nelly on the back of a good win and team performance but thought he was poor. Can't ride a challenge to save his life, longstaff level of finishing skills and can't tackle either when he can be bothered to engage its a foul. Got in Gordon's way in the first half a few times too trying to occupy the same areas. I hope it's rust or confidence or some other issue but he's doing nothing to me to not make an easy choice to bring big joe straight back in. He was already a candidate for me to sell in the summer due to his injury record but really hoping he would be useful as his driving and bringing the ball forward basically the willock from the 4th place season.
  22. It has more teams involved and is tighter but was the case for the season we finished 4th man u were flukey and patchy and Liverpool and Chelsea were having poor seasons. Iam sure if we went on Bournemouth/fulham/Notts forest forums would be saying take advantage while the teams that are previously consistent are having a bad/patchy season (we ourselves are hoping it's a poor half season and we can turn it around). Still alot of ups and downs possible you have to carry on hoping we are one of the teams to still take advantage from a strange season while no one has massively pulled away (appreciate depending on your point of view top 4 being 5 points clear may seem like alot or not alot of ground to make up) Still hoping to be in the European conversation to help keep better players and show that we haven't just fallen completely backwards project trajectory wise.

    Harvey Barnes

Didn't work again for me on the right and I hope I'm not being paranoid to me it looked like he was trying his best not to score against his old club.
  24. nufcjmc

    Lewis Hall

That ball down the line that then seems to curve at the end is so lethal. Him and tino and really good at driving forward holding off challenges. Shame he couldn't get his header on target deserves a goal.
  25. Seems like it was reported we could extend by 12 months so he now has 18months
