Agreed. Its all very well the press saying "Player X to join NUFC" but at the moment nobody has joined us and we have lost a lot of players from a squad which is now beyond paper thin. Before the summer i thought 5 new players should be brought in, but now we really need 7 or 8, considering how light we are. rumours about parker going were here months ago and maybe he did want to move back down south and no matter what SA had to say he wasn't on board with the SA vision. Or it may be the case that SA looked at the squad and saw the issue we all did, how can you play butt, parker, dyer, emre in the middle well and to be honest you can't and sinse it was a choice from maybe parker and emre getting the higher fee's for. totally agree we are now even more paper thin than what we were in the summer but you have to admit we are actually just taking away dead wood, if parker didnt want to be here than as SA if you dont want to play here you dont have to. lets just hope player "X" comes in sooner rather than later.

with parker leaving we have to believe that something is in the pipe line, a decent fee for an average player I really do hope that SA knows what he is doing.
-
you want another parker then ?

big and lanky and definetly improved alot over the last season or two and with bent being touted as an auction starting at 12 million i would take crouch for about the 10 million mark
-
got to get experience in from somewhere is worth to add that as well as some depth for a year or two
-
prefer this to the last few away strips, so i guess the baby blue and white stripe one was a hoax ooh well

I would say the top 5 are very strong chelsea has a very descent side and will be buying one or two i recon manu we already know they won the league because of being so good now with hargreaves going to them and maybe a striker they will stick where they are unknowns are liverpool just how much is pushed into the club over the summer depends if they will be truely pushing chelsea and manu and finally but not least arsenal, top quality youngsters with wenger supposedly still at the helm i would say they will be hard to shift. aim for this comming season is steadying the ship get back into the uefa cup places if possible and a good cup run. Top 4 you mean? yes yes I do, was going on to say that the likes of spuds or everton are too strong at the moment with us being up shit creak at the minute and surely headed for a season of transition but didnt have the heart to

totally agree if i hadent of lost my job i would definetly be buying it

Quicker the better imo. News like this will only mean the fans will side with the new guy, obviously (and why the story is appearing before the board meeting next week) Yeah but didn't Allardyce say that fans need to be patient about what he does. yes but when he was saying that he obviously was planning for little steps due to the massive job and the massive ammount of money to do it in a short spell of time now with rich backing you would expect it to happen quicker, remember before the chelsea take over they were as much mid table as we are now. Bollicks! They were 4th in the league! catch up will you grant retracted what i said and explained further down the thread.........

I wouldnt like the thought of an ageing star wanting to crawl back into Englands good favours and we stump up all or half of his half a million a week wages do you recon our "big stars" will approve? is he on 500,000 a week though? if he is then he can fuck off and SA would be stupid to go for him. his deal was for about that yea Didn't it include various image rights etc...? I thought his actual wage paid by the club was a hell of a lot less than that? i think he is expected to earn around the 120 million mark over 5 years but true I dont know what breaks down into weekly wages/image rights but even if he was only on £150.000p/w we already have owen on a hell of alot but bringing beckham in would still cause bad feeling with the other players
-
now being reported through sky that he is due to stay put shame
-
we can only judge SA on this transfer budget (if he gets one in time) and the players performances I would rather wait to call for his head when the next season is over or at the very least xmas. We know the guys back ground and we can sort of guess his game plan (tactics that are thought out, scouting system, individual analysis and coaching, spotting a good player when he see's one) as many have said at this point in time thinking about who is available he is still the best for now......

Quite a bit of bollocks you are talking there mate. Were 14th, they were 4th, aye mid table, lets scrub off there trophy wins in the last decade before the takeover as well. ok a bit of bollocks my mistake on remembering league finishes but my point was literally to say that they were not title contenders season in season out before the money came pouring in and while our final position this year was 13th (not 14th) I would still class us as a mid table side at the moment But they were a much better club than us before the takeover, miles better, you stated that they were mid table, they weren't simple as, they were as strong as Liverpool at the time, and pipped the to 4th place on the last game of the season, that's how close they were already to top four, were miles away mate, miles and miles. i totally concede that i was wrong on my stats *"doh!" but my point was that the club was 20-30 points off the top spot and terribly financed. We are poor at the moment but is this down to having totally shit players? or a poor manager making poor choices? I would like to think if the squad hardly changed an we didnt have big backing we would be higher than what we are now. I never said chelsea were ever as bad as we are now, all i said was in a broad sense we can be classed as no where near title contenders and chelsea like us were struggling to break the top 4 monopoly.

I feel that IF they are docked points it will make little difference to the plight of the other relegated teams will see them starting on some minus points, by which time they will have used their backing to buy better players and play their way out of trouble. This whole thing is very embarrasing for both westham and the FA

can I ask when an where it was quoted we would suddenly have 45 million to spend if Ashley takes control, an if SA was quoted right in saying he didnt know where this take over came from I wonder what the original FFS led budget was, it obviously has to have some impact either the players SA would have liked to get rid of but couldnt due to the fact we didnt have enough funds to replace them or that he can now go for a better calibre of player.
-
no player should be too good for us especially the likes of an up and comming and if we have that attitude we will never get anywhere, seek the man you want and go for him (like the manu hargreaves)
-
Barnes would be a good signing, would add a bit of height to our midget team. i just hope if we did try an go for him we aint held over a barrell when it comes to the fee
-
the guy has been around for an age a true pro which has played for some top clubs and doesn't give the impression as a player on the decline, cant see him doing a sherringham and playing till 40 but can certainly see him going for another 3/4 years at top level due to his good footballing brain helping out the loss of pace would be a good addition.

theo cost £14million didnt he and he was about the same age, difference obviously was he was going to one of the best nurturer's of the game in wenger. I wouldnt have thought southampton need a take over with being a feeder club like they are.
