  1. seems he would come out of retirement just to stop us signing bellers back, really think the money pool want for him he would not be in SA thinking but nice to hear from Shearer whatever it is.
  2. so we may not give a shit but smoggies have signed Aliadiere for 1.5m do you recon he is a decent replacement for viduka? I for one think they are clutching at straws if they recon a fringe player is good enough to help them out of trouble but is that all part of the fun for us???

I was thinking of Heinze when people mentioned Rozenhal is a defender they had never head of. It seems like a no win situation for the club, we sign a big name player and people moan because we're signing trophy players, we buy a player nobody has seen play so that's wrong, next thing you know people are posting threads about the likes of Samba at Blackburn moaning that we don't spot players like that. Talk about fickle ffs. some see the take over as an excuse to aim big. some see the take over as something to be wary of and we need to plan the rebuild like we were going to before hand. we are always going to get this conflict a mega unknown only gets heavy praise from a fan when they actually make it and thats always the risk that they will bomb and waste your money, but as i have said before unless they are proven class in the prem then even the big signings are a gamble and we have proved that by throwing good money down the drain. I for one see it as a body at the very least we let defenders go and we need to build the defensive line back up again and for 3m its a small gamble.
  4. I think I need my eyes tested I thought the bottom part was silver was thinking its way too many colours but yea agree with shak its a nice looking shirt.
  5. tbh id buy it yorkie when can you start to manufacturer them???
  6. potential and just sheer multiple options, so many variations and so many different ways of playing no more "bramble knocks it up the field to open space" or "cross comes into the box ooh and I guess they must think shearer is still playing for us as there is no one there"
  7. ...And because when you do make a post, you'll get some job knockey picking one line out of it and taking about three hours of your life because you simply cannot face being proven wrong after such effort in the first place Drives me mad that like. You write a great long post and one line gets picked out. Anyhow, top post that initial one, Rich. It's the best way to wind someone up, like On a different score, I've seen you mention the 4-3-3 formation and I've now seen Shak allude to it, while when I was away I read papers claiming we'd play 4-4-2, 3-5-2 (which really excited me and made Papa Lazaru turn in his grave, I'm sure), 4-5-1 as well. Then there was Allardyce saying he wants "two players for every position" in regards to the forwards, which made me think that we'd be playing two up top. Has this debate been done elsewhere while I've been away? Because if it has I'd happily take it to the appropriate thread as it's something I fancy discussing. It's undoutable to me that a midfield three of Butt, Emre and Barton would be exciting (whereas Diarra, Emre and Barton would be jizz-worthy), but where do Martins, Owen, Viduka and Milner fit in to that? Four players, who if they stay should by rights be starters. Then there's a massive earner like Dyer to take into account who will seemingly be out in the cold. It's interesting to note the proposed formation when we're talking defensive midfielders though, because there's a huge difference between playing the Makelele role and playing the Roy Keane role - although there are, of course, players capable of doing both. Is it all just speculation at the minute 4-3-3 wise? I just can't fathom how he'll work it with Owen and Martins here. all of which I have thought about too the one thing I have thought about is SA looking at converting to martins to more of a deeper roll out of one of the flanks in a 3 up front formation we know he can use both feet comfortably so possibly this is where he fits in and either owen or viduka playing well ahead as the box player. Obviously the key here the team already seems alot more adaptable than when roedant and souy were here.(i know we did try other stuff from 4-4-2) but always seemed to fall flat on its face.
  8. I still keep going back to african players for some reason and the fact he likes to buy "unknowns" now if some 6'4 muscel bound hulk came in while we probably will all be worrying who the fuck he is and is he any good you can sort of see where he is going. Really think one of the big reasons Parker left was because he has a plan for midfield and we will see a player come in the middle or maybe Im clutching at straws
  9. It is a little and large combination that I think we really need, totally agree that in the middle of the park we need a strong big guy look at arsenal a few seasons ago all, nimble quick very good at passing the ball and the drive the power and the support all fell to viera. Now with him gone they have obviously suffered hence the reason we managed to play so well against them last two seasons down to bullying the ball and taking the flowing passing game away from them. Where we are at now we have emre, who although strong doesnt seem to have any ability to hold up a ball or drive through the middle, butt again quite similar. I feel I could blow dyer over personally. Then obviously the height issue milner's crosses although have not been the best sometimes I wish we had a "big man" to aim for and while we hope viduka will give him a big enough target to aim for we cant always play him. difficulty obviously is while we are concentrating on defence I dont know if we are going to target people all over the park but I'm sure SA has already thought about this, I mean he has managed to out think us on numerous occasions so knows all about our weaknesses.
  10. ...And because when you do make a post, you'll get some job knockey picking one line out of it and taking about three hours of your life because you simply cannot face being proven wrong after such effort in the first place who been having a go at you Janitor and I'll send someone round to see them......
  11. it seems far fetched and could be media speculation only thing i can think of personally is the fact they want to cash in on him and roberto carlos signed for fener didnt he. Maybe they trying to recreate an old version of real from a couple of season ago.

when it comes to the defence we are really short if this guy turns out to be average then it is still decent business, no one unless they have played week in week out in the prem will be a gamble you just have to keep the faith with the manager which finally i think we can start to, got to be better than the last two numpties.

    Want Diouf?

when your playing a team of midgets with no direction running round like lemmings and you take the 50,000 home fans screaming you on I think going away must be like sending them off the cliff. totally agree having a dirty player with skill is not a bad thing as long as its not aragant bastards who recon they are bigger than the club ie bellamy
  14. isnt dyer 28 this season? would not class him as a young prem player especially the way he likes to play and the position he occupies. Sarcasm tbh. Bramble and Dyer are both shit. than fuck for that here was me starting to worry for your well being with comments like that.

    Want Diouf?

Well if he wants to move on from Bolton and step up he wont find it much different at any other club much bigger than bolton. A move might be in the offing but not until the defence is sorted, like I said earlier it wouldnt suprise me to see us get someone like Diouf/Giuly that can cover Duff/Viduka for the start of the season. Will we not be missing Martins for after xmas for the african nations? I keep hoping that martins will piss off the national coach enough to not play but yes he will be off to the african nations for up to a month.

    Want Diouf?

every "big" club operates on a rotation system so he would have to and like i said it really depends on the formation SA plays as to wether he (all in theory of course) would be a bench player or a starter. Certainly loosing luque for the season and probably forever and with duff out till worse case xmas has made the left side midfield a bit short for the start of season but we have milner that can play left also emre, and the Zog so I really dont see the need in signing him. However if we did it would be under a plan and for reasons that would suit the manager it isnt like SA is not aware of what he is in for if he brought him in.

been one of Bolton's best players, on par or possibly better than what we have adding more strength and depth to the team I say if he doesnt cost the world go for him. we cant buy a team equivalent to 11 ronaldo's or tevez's good enough for Bolton I agree, but for Newcastle United I am not convinced, he will die a death if he signs and fails to hit the net often if we happen to buy him as a striker which is something i feel he is not capable of doing here! he would not be brought in as a striker. Replacement for Luque??? back up for the midfield? works well in SA's known "systems" seen as he has played under SA. I really don't know if he is right or not for the side we have presently but none of us know where we are going with the team except chairman and manager and when you look at the toon side of the last 2 season then players like diouf under a poor system and a bad manager= fish out of water? square pegs into round holes? I just have this blinded faith that whatever SA signs its for a reason and is at the very least a calculated risk.
  19. Isn't that what I said? "I wouldn't say Jenas was a better goalscorer, he may have a slightly better goals to games ratio last season but I'd take into account the teams they play in, Spurs scored a load last season in all competitions where as Man City only managed 29 goals last season in the league, I'd like to think if Barton came here and we get our act together, he could go on and score more than he did at City." Yes you did but you also said that you disagree that Jenas is the better goalscorer out of the two which is a blatant contradiction no matter what way you look at it. What about my other point Baggio, not going to say anything about that? I didn't read your other comments tbh, nor do I have any intention of doing so either. Funny that you decide to ask me a question then when i answer it you decide not to read it . I guess getting proven wrong must hurt. In future i suggest you stop directing stuff at me then decide to take the moral high road when things arent going your way. Youve done it countless times already and its boring now. seen as this thread if shot to shit already can I ask dawson and no I do not want to start a debate but out of interest seen as you must have signed up to a newcastle forum for a reason. Is there any first team players in our side currently you would make a straight swap for one of the spuds first team?

  21. Not really, it's not as if I have any real hate for the player. As I've said, both average players who are good at a few things but average at most. the way things are going with the prices of english players I still recon Jenas was a decent price at 7m at the time. I really havent followed Bolton enough to comment on Nolan but as mentioned before out of those 3 I would have barton any day.

What's funny? He'd have had a Shepherd budget with his list of players when he first took over, now there's new money in he might have a list of better players he wants that he didn't think he'd have been able to afford when he came in. have to agree with you on this one nut if say he did have targets in mind and then he saw who was available, new money by whatever ammount would certainly change his plans a little/alot (depending on the extra ammount). What SA has said is he was interested but no bid was ever published so we can say that we wont be making a concrete offer cause we now have our eyes on player XYZ???
  23. You've still not said who's gonna get dropped. Rotated with Keane. So again I ask, who in their right mind buys a player for rotation for upwards of £12m? hmmmm spurs? hmmmm West ham? (would have been rotated with Ashton), hmmmm Arsenal? (Reyes), hmmmmm Liverpool ?(kuyt dosent exactly start every game), hmmmm mancester united ?(saha), hmmmmm Chelsea ?(shevchenko). Spot the difference between the clubs in bold and the rest. You asked a simple question and i answered it. The point being all those other clubs can afford to do things like that and them f*** up. Why on earth would England striker Darren Bent, fresh from another season of scoring goals freely and with a price tag of £12m+ want to sit on the bench every other week? Unless of course, he was picking up regular winners medals... Why on earth would Darren Bent turn down a massive wage and a guaranteed starting place at, what must be said, is an ambitious club in order to go to Spurs? Maybe he's different? He's not gone to Spurs yet. Fair point though, I suppose. It just doesn't seem logical to me. Either Spurs expect another of their starters to leave or they're getting ideas way above their current station. If it's the latter it's a massive gamble imo. thb he is currently at a relegated club he may feel the big 4 arent interested which is possible seen as charlton seem hell bent on wanting a kings ransom for him, he may feel a club like spuds with european football and players like lennon and "shudders" jenas getting international calls it may be good for him to move, rather than westspam that may still struggle with a disjointed team and with trouble hanging over them. Like you I cannot fathom why a player will be willing to be rotated but if say one of the big 3 strikers leave then you can see why he is keen. regardless of all the ITK's we dont know the ins and outs and his sig might all come down to other movements.
  24. They've already got Fletchers and SWPs, what they need is Rooneys and Ronaldos. I agree for liverpool to actually challenge the top 2 then they need to be buying one or two world class players and not just squd players they already have enough of those to survive a long campign on 2-3 fronts But a lot of those types of players are leaving. Zenden,Kewell & Gonzales for starters which leaves fuk all down the left, and only Pennant down the right. Garcia is another possibility but he is total hit and miss anyway. They need worldclass signings, but they'll also need the like of Benayoun to fill in the gaps. true and squad players keep getting older so I know what your saying but like us they have a list of priorities and while I feel we need to add 5-6 squad players sinse we are really short I see that the big money and energy needs to go in to the big world class big hitter type signings and then work on bringing in one or two, I really dont think they should be proud enough to act shrewd get players on loan, swap as part of deals to get rid of the shite they dont want to get better in. They dont have a bad squad but they will soon feel their "third best" slot slip away if they dont invest this year, as they cant count on the rest of the league playing catch up forever The Liverpool task this season isn't as easy as it 1st looks, especially when you've got an issue over the budget ATM. Rafa has done an average to good job spending money so far, although his reliance of La Liga must come to an end if he want to have a title race next season. EPL proven players cost though, and if he wants one or two stars on a £40m budget then he's stuck as fuk, and time is running out to capture those types of players that Liverpool desperately need. Liverpool have a good keeper & a solid defense, but a big injury to Carragher and that defense would be very stretched over the season, their strikeforce is strong but not scoring enough goals, there is not genuine goalscorer amongst them, all of them are setup/support or worker type forwards, they need someone to finish it all off on a constant basis and for a top four club, they have fuk all down the flanks. That's a lot of issues to address at once, especially on a £40m budget. we will crush them then next season...... I dunno its hard we have learned the hard way loose players in important areas and you suffer. Liverpool have not felt that to the same extent loose Gerrard and they are fucked, strikers are fine but like us something is lacking in midfield as you expect them to get more. They are really at a cross roads as much as us, being taken over does not leave them minted and while rafa will still be licking his lips at the prospect of 40+ million to help him develop the squad I agree if he wants world class it will buy him 2-3 players max not enough to cope for a full season and challenege but as many people have written there is almost a bigger gap from third to second than there is from 10-5th at the moment testiment to how powerful chelsea and manu are at the moment IMO, and this will rile Liverpool fans, there isn't much difference between the team Rafa inherited and the one he's got now. Its still a lopsided, and considering he's had the time and the money he should have a better squad. However you cannot argue with what he's done in the CL, and has brought Liverpool back to one of Europe's elite in that competition, but has in the meantimes neglected the need for certain players in a tough league, namely consistent ones. GH had a 5 year plan to deliver the league and was driven out when he didn't manage it. How long will Rafa get? What year is this 3, 4? Also Rafa started with a much better team and it wouldn't surprise me if he's spend the same in his time here as GH. its a strange effect arsenal do so shite in the champs usually and good in the league liverpool are close but not so close but last couple of seasons have excelled in the champs. I guess it depends what squd your developing as I do think unless you have a massive squad then you cannot say that its a similar style that wins you the league as it does the champs. rafa still has loads to prove and I feel that he wont be given much longer to make waves particular if they do spend big now 40m doesnt sound alot but to a fan its massive and Im sure they feel they are only 1-2 players off pushing whoever is running for second next season
