il admitt martins has speed and power and is good with both feet but he doesnt have skill, an eye for goal and he isnt good in the air you ever seen him play? he has skill to hit a ball and can at times control it very well. he takes shots and has scored from distance hence an eye from goal a he is short and can still jump for the ball beating taller players and can head the ball well therefore good in the air care to give me a good reason to agree with you?

only player i would give him is mcCarthy who has been outstanding but could easily be a one hit wonder and was massively under priced when bought so do you think martins has had a better season than all of the other strikers i mentioned before? no as the rest in your list have been as good as martins for similar or different reasons.

6 assists is really poor. compare him to rooney who has been the only striker for man utd for the majority of the season. people think martins is so good but all he does is score a goal every few games. compare him to rooney and rooney scores more goals than him and contributes alot more to the team and cost manure nearly 25 million and again rooney been in the league longer, playing with better players and still has only managed 14 in a league last season so much for a massive difference ?

it is his first season in the prem, he is young and he is flawed as is every player. When he first started playing he was getting into a position wanting someone to come with him hence the reason as a loan striker he aint been good. The ammount of time I have seen him in space passing or waiting for the very slow le-sib give him a strong or quick striker and we will see a different martins. Where as we have seen enough of baptista he is too busy worrying about getting wet and moving back to spain.

you could have said that about bent before his move, no one has a crystal ball so these things are hard to guess, he has done excellent and i really hope now we have a new investor we can aim for a 8 million spend rather than trying to find a freebie

ok... martins= 43 starts 17 goals baptista= 17 starts 10 goals thats not too bad for someone thats absolutely dreadful TBH martin shit team no support loan striker or duff with him = 17 goals baptista-highly experienced international playing with some of the best internationals this league has = 10 goals. ill keep martins thanks

I had it my mind he was a mifielder - was confusing him with the Derby player (can't think of his name) - stiil the same sentiments though, we need defenders before anywhere else. Gudjonsson would be good only if one of the strikers leave. so if owen and martins stay you are happy martins going to the african nations in jan for a month and owen possibly getting injured and then relying on shola? Gudjonnson is heading towards 30 he is used to being in a system where they rotate strikers so I think he would be ideal and not much of a luxury baring in mind we were struggling to score even in the back end of the season.

argueing the other side of the coin with saviola being the one that is more likely to be shipped out he may have a hope of getting a place, if barca go out and buy another striker it may be the wake up call he needs to move on and with the link to SA we stand a chance.

sometimes a player doesnt want to leave but he has to realise that he is a bench player nothing more when playing in barca over here he would get alot of games.

I would have loved the guy before he went to barca but at the time we were wasting our money else where, would hope he hasnt been rouined by going abroad but for about the 7million mark I would take him in a heart beat.
