http://www.newcastleunited-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/gabby_puts_mike_ashley_in_his_place_741374/index.shtml I hadn't picked this up first time round. Very good!

    Sunderland...

I don't rate him much, like some on here, but as others have pointed out, given what we have he is an improvement. The phrase beggars can't be choosers springs to mind
  3. This the main problem if it were reinvested then fair enough, but it won't be, so don't sell particularly in january.

    Alan Pardew

Sad truth is I'm hoping for Curbishley to be unveiled last minute!
  5. As several have said, Blackpool and West Brom are worse and any one from Wigan, West Ham, Wolves, Sunderland or Blackburn have the potential to be worse. It's going to be close though.
  6. Strip him of captaincy, but for god sake keep him in the team
  7. I agree with this. it is better that we get knocked out early rather than later on. We need to focus on promotion this season and to do that we need to avoid injuries, suspensions and tiredness.
  8. I think you you've got the recruitment strategy nailed on here.

    Jonas Gutierrez

Given that he can't get a cross into the penalty area from the wing I don't think he's at the stage of being able to blame the movement. I blame the tactics for this. Why on earth we persist in playing Jonas at LW I'll never figure. He's right footed, and can't cross with his left. Then we have left-footed Duff on the right wing, and people wonder why we produce nothing from the flanks? Get Duff on the left, get Jonas on the right. I'm not saying this will definitely sort things out but give it 4 or 5 games (Which I think we're yet to see since we signed Jonas) and then let's see if we've still got no end product. I think this is exactly the point with him, no end product on the left. You can't argue that he scares the hell out of the opposition when he is running with the ball, try him on the right or behing a striker. If he is still useless then give up on him.
  10. I am with you on this one. Irrespective of what happens we need to get rid of the majority of the squad and start again with players that have a desire to play for the team. Try and keep Bassong, Beye, Guthrie. I can't see many others worth keeping.

That's true mind. We've not lost a game under Kinnear with a goal in open-play (free-kick at Sunderland and a penalty at Fulham). He's definitely made us a team hard to beat anyway. I agree with this and went for a 3. The other thing in our favour is that i think two clear contenders are emerging for me, WBA and Blackburn. The woeful performance by Sunderland at the weekend brings a ray of optimism also. We will probably be saved by the poor performances of these three.
  12. i fully expect smith to go to everton for the reason that once xisco has signed, i reckon later in the day moyes will panic bid and get smith for 4 million, and we will accept because otherwise we have 7 strikers and plenty of midfielders, seeing he is short up front. i reckon it will be confirmed very late though Lets hope your right
  13. Who is this Jimmy Briand? What can anyone tell me about him? He's a footballer. Some daft c*** on a s*** website made up something about him coming here. Forget you ever even heard about it, because it's a load of bollocks. Well said. Thanks for clearing that one up

  15. Excellent if true, some good players at about the level we are likely to be able to attract, Petrov a must. Highly unlikely unfortunately even if he is slightly unhinged.
  16. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=566363&in_page_id=1779 Sounds like good business to me!
  17. I hope we win and villa get 5th instead of everton 0-2
  18. Good analysis. NUFC going down is unrealistic. Too many teams below us in both in terms of points and quality to really question our Premiership status. But, the fact that 22,5% here think we ARE GOING DOWN should make both Ashley and Keegan think hard what to do nextsummer. Otherwise, the next season may be very unpleasant. Fair assessment here, there are still plenty of 'six pointers in the remaining games and these should see us clear of some fairly woefull sides below us

  21. Unfortunately Klinsman would be crucified by the media before he started, Mourinho, yes.
  22. Has to be European qualification this season. Long term, world domination and attratctive football.
