    Kieran Trippier

Couldn't agree more. of all the squad members, why wouldn't we aim to keep him and then integrate him into the backroom staff. It's not like his resale value is going to solve our FFP position and you would think he would really add value to the coaching staff.
  2. For those that wanted to know I counted them out of morbid curiosity, 11781 available. A lot more to come off rather than go on I reckon.

We finished 10th last season. We will be fine, Rafa will introduce the new players slowly as he always does we will finish between 8th and 12th. Agree with this. Injuries are the variable that might change it though. I agree, like last season plenty to join us in the bottom half, Cardiff and Huddersfield look like they will definitely be very poor and that will help us. We certainly won't be spared because we a setting the division alight.

Feels a bit like evens chance at the moment. The saving grace is there are plenty of poor teams in the bottom half this year and if we can just score a few more, we should get away with it. Sad state of affairs though.
  5. Definitely Saylor, he has to go.
  6. Divine retribution for all the shit he served up to us. We can catch them and send them down with Sunderland and Villa.
  7. Excellent news, seriously punching above our weight. Finishing above Palace and Pardew a distinct possibility!
  8. Disturbing insight into the past. It does explain a few things! http://www.themag.co.uk/2015/07/steve-mcclaren-astonished-at-what-happened-under-alan-pardew-at-pre-season-training/
  9. I really thought I would wake up to the good news he was gone. Surely today!
  10. Every reason for Stoke to really have a go at us, their position is far from great. Here's hoping!
  11. This is exactly how I see it, he will cling on to Pardew for as long as he can and that will start on Saturday if we get a point. Tied into to this also is a point someone else made earlier that he is so tight with money, he may well leave this several more weeks in the hope that Pardew eventually resigns because of the pressure from fans and media. He doesn't care about anything apart from the money and he will easily feel he has a few more weeks / months to see if he can avoid paying. The media attention also doesn't really seem to affect him as they have no access to him, so it will all be targeted at Pardew.
  12. Meant to open with "Think we would lose", Duh.
  13. Think we would win anyway given their result last week and the way we are playing. Given that it is so early in the season now would be a good time to lose to these. Given that they hate Pardew also let's hope he get's a really hostile reception, bit of a bonus for both sets of fans. First time I have ever wanted a loss and like others I feel this is the chance for him to screw it up and get sacked. The force is with us!
  14. Yes and the usual, like a new signing line!

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Yep. Totally agree. There were two things I noticed on Saturday though. First, I was surprisedthat quite often our players didn't pass the ball to him when he was free (as alluded to above). Secondly, Ben Arfa seemed a little reluctant to move to make himself available as often as I thought he might do/used to do. And me, agree with all of this. Also given the fact that we gave up on the season a couple of months ago, play him every game, he is easily our best player on his day, we might find he has a real appetite to stay if he gets a good run out for the rest of the season.
  16. I think mobility in central defence will obviously be important for us, and I think Williamson has to be left out despite having do a decent job at Cardiff. For me though I think as important for us is the fitness of Cabaye, until he ran out of steam in the last game he was really key. He could get to grips with the midfield as I don't think this is the strongest area for Liverpool. We will be lucky to get a draw though.
  17. Exactly how I feel about him. I think that exactly the point for me also, he really tries hard, first half he was really good as others have said correctly against real pace we shouldn't play him, but he can't be criticised for effort and attitude or for the clubs transfer failings.
  18. Seemed pretty in control yesterday, good performance in my book

    Papiss Cissé

The game on Saturday was just another example where he was really lack luster, it almost gave the impression he couldn't be bothered. It's hard to see where the player from the start of last season has gone. In complete contrast to Gouffran you always puts a shift in for the team, infact would sweat blood, I would really like to see him given a go as the lead striker and give Cisse a rest.
  20. Exactly the same for me, sheer strength of the guy and awesome player and so unbelievably modest and understated off the pitch, always came across as a really nice guy! Seems like a hell of long time ago now.
  21. God help us if they decide to play to his strengths and cross the ball into to him frequently enough. They don't seem to have realised that all season and as long as Downing and henderson carry on being poor it won't happen soon either.
  22. Villa and anyone else, could really see this happen too.
