  4. Stolen from RTG The Bundesliga club St Pauli, who have a reputation for doing things differently, included one of their media officers in the squad for Saturday's game against Hannover 96 due to a lack of fit defenders. Hauke Brückner, 30, who works as a press officer for the alternative Hamburg club and has played for the Under-23 team, received a call from the coach, Holger Stanislawski, who told him to turn up at training "in one hour". "Against Hannover we only have four fit defenders so it makes sense to bring in Hauke," Stanislawski said. Brückner, who played 10 games in Germany's second division in the 2002-03 season, said his new team-mates were surprised to see him. "When I walked into the changing room with my bag, the boys were staring at me, not really believing it," Brückner said. "They did crack some jokes but I know them well and after that everything was good." Read more: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=572975#ixzz1EubRLDbh

  6. Fucking honestly...... http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/feb/22/robinho-kaka-blackburn-rovers-venkys It seems the owners of Blackburn Rovers know no bounds, despite Ronaldinho's blunt rejection of a move to Ewood Park last month, with a further six Brazil internationals forming part of a summer wishlist for the Venky's Group. The Indian owner of the Lancashire club remains hopeful it can coax a big-name South American to Ewood Park and are pursuing several options. Representatives of half a dozen players – Robinho, Kaká, Neymar and Elano among them – have been contacted with a view to checking their availability. Other players under consideration are the rising star Ganso, who plays for Santos and is recovering from a serious knee injury, and the 22-year-old Jucilei of Corinthians. Both have earned a single full Brazil cap. Landing such a coup is a key part of the new owner's plans for the Premier League club's future, if one which will be met with scepticism from elsewhere. Speculation this month has already linked the striker Luis Fabiano with a shock transfer to a corner of England he is probably unaware of. Argentinian internationals are also under consideration on what is a genuine list compiled by Venky's in India. Sources close to the owner readily admit that convincing high-profile players from another continent to move to one of the English top flight's less fashionable clubs will be problematic. Still, the Indian company – which has a most recently reported annual turnover of close to £1bn and profits of a 10th of that amount – is adamant it will pay what it takes in salaries to land a big signing. Venky's is less willing to spend lavishly on transfer fees, but will do so if it feels it is necessary. It was reported Ronaldinho last month refused wages worth a staggering £20m over three years, and subsequent business by Blackburn during January was low-key. That makes it more likely that a young, up-and-coming Brazilian with aspirations of moving and playing in Europe for the first time would be a realistic target. Blackburn's senior players may be taking a closer interest than most when Brazil's national team arrive in England for a friendly against Scotland at the Emirates Stadium on 27 March.

To be honest that would be my preferred choice. I've been going since the early 80's and the Gallowgate has always been the "home" end as far as i'm concerned although i'm aware that people aged 45+ would disagree with me mind. I just think it's the best stand in terms of it's design for generating the most noise and other added bonuses are that the upper tier has very few season ticket holders in it at present and a lot of those who are there this season (upper tier) already stand/sing for the 90 minutes. Add that to the fact that it's always been the end that the players like to attack in the 2nd half and it's a no brainer as far as i'm concerned. The argument about it not being near enough to the away fans doesn't wash with me. If you look at the traditional "home ends" in England like the Kop, the Holte end, Stretford End, The old North Bank and so on they were always at the opposite end of the ground to the away support but it didn't stop them making a hell of a din when they wanted to. Leazes End is the home end mind!! The reason we attack the Gallowgate End in the 2nd half is because of the geet big slope. It's downhill so much better attacking downhill in the 2nd half when players are getting tired. i don't think the slope exists anymore. I sit in level 7 Milburn and i can categorically state that it does. have a look at the east Stand, at the leazes end the fron row is pitch level whereas at the Gallowgate end it's a canny bit higher than pitch level. It is a very noticeable slope. Pretty sure its still there like, went on a stadium tour a year or so ago and the bloke mentioned it.

Certainly hope they can't ask for the difference, but then again, what's to stop someone who only wants to commit for one season, taking out the 10 yr plan then opting out next yr, just to keep costs down for a season? I suppose the 10 yr option wouldn't then be available next yr, and if they wanted to renew, they'd have to pay the full whack. Im sure with the 3 year deal that we had preciously if you wanted to cancel you had to pay the difference, cant remember though.

Just got my renewal today and am hoping someone can clarify something for me. If i take the option of 10 years price fix i pay £504 compared to £558 if i bought a one off. They say you can opt out every year so say 4 years time for whatever reason i decide im not going to renew, can NUFC ask that you pay the difference between the fixed price ST and 1 year standard St IE: £54? Meaning can they ask for £54 difference x the number of years held = £216 ? Can anyone shed any light

  20. In all seriousness, Wilshere would be a much better buy. I'm serious, he was utterly brilliant tonight. Wilshere is the future of England, has to be.
