  1. Tough call, but I'd have to go with Cisse's 2nd vs. Chelsea. How he managed to score from there was ridiculous Couple of honorable mentions for Andy Cole vs. Chelsea and Beardsley dancing vs. Aston Villa
  2. I'm getting Alan Partridge flashbacks.
  3. Saw this late on so gave it a watch last night. Great seeing the full coverage, even if the half-time analysis was rotten. Can't get over Bruce and Dalglish saying Poborsky's dive was a stone-wall penalty, the state of it man
  4. Agreed. If we'd started Joelinton up front yesterday he would have probably been lingering outside the box for all of those chances that Gayle missed.
  5. The Chelsea fan in the comments man ffs
  6. DNA Probably more to do with the fact that he took our best 2 players off and our formation for the last 10 minutes looked something like this
  7. Tonight shows how clueless he is, and the lengths some of his mates will go to in order to defend him. Dublin: He hasn't had much to spend.
  8. Probably the best 45 minutes I've seen us play in the last 15 years in that game. It's definitely up there, particularly during Ashley's reign. 2nd half away to Spurs under Keegan is up there as well. It felt like a brief throwback to the 90's.
  9. 2-0 West Brom, with a weakened team at that. They'll out-play us.
  10. Totally agree with this Ian. It even gets to the point now, where someone will pipe up with a bit of football talk, and I am instantly bored. Roll the eyes and just switch off. The whole thing just bores me rigid. been the same way for a long time now.
  11. The flaw in this very simple argument so many like to put forward is this: Word gets around, and if that is what has happened repeatedly, for over 10 years, then there must be a huge queue of insanely gullible billionaires out there. Which there isn't. Ashley isn't that clever. They would all know he has no interest in selling. He is however clever enough to plant a few silly stories in the press and have people believe his shit (see:BZG). At the same time if there is no takeover discussion going on behind the scenes, why not just come out and deny it? What would they gain, or what have they gained by being in cahoots with Ashley to pump out a load of rubbish?
  12. "It was an argument I was winning"
  13. Exactly. The only reason Newcastle were predicted for relegation in the first place is because Rafa left and Bruce came in
  14. 5 wins 4 defeats 1 draw Compare that to last season, when I'm pretty sure Rafa was being slated by all sections of the media 4 wins 3 defeats 3 draws

    If we go down ...

Sherwood to save the day. I don't think we're big enough for Warnock. If Joe Kinnear is the best coach Mike Ashley has ever worked with, then Tony Pulis is the best coach Mike Ashley has never worked with.
  16. But Staveley has had 2 and a half fucking years to put offers to him. She's had a lovely sit down curry with him, she's been called a tmewaster. She must be the most gullible woman on the planet if she keeps repeating the same actions expecting a different outcome. I don't think she is that gullible personally. I'd believe her side of the story over Ashley's, any day of the week. Who's to say the offers she talked about weren't genuine the first time? The ones that were talked about in that interview after talks ended. For all we know they could have agreed to start new talks and then Ashley is moving the goal posts again, because it's what he does. It's not believing Ashley's story as opposed to hers. It's the possibility that they're in cahoots with each other. For what though? Publicity? Doesn't seem like there would be enough gain for her from a convoluted plan like that. That would be a waste of time. Given everything we've heard/read over the years about the way Ashley operates, and treats his own employees, I'd be inclined to think it's simply him moving the goal posts and testing the waters to see what he can get away with until they get fed up and back out of any deal.
  17. For me it feels like he's been one of those where I'll transfer him in when he's hitting form, then he goes 5 games without scoring.
  18. If it's true that Wolves want him in the summer, and they could keep hold of Traore then they could become genuine contenders next season. Those 2 on either side would be a nightmare for anybody to go against.

    Joelinton

    Agreed. It was on target.
  20. Left Calvert-Lewin on the bench 2 weeks in a row, and I've finished the weekend with less than 15 points
