  1. Excellent performance. So good to see him imposing himself on a game. Was very positive in his defending, attacking the ball. Great run and jump for the goal. Just good at everything last night. More of that!!
  2. Would play Willock over Miley or Ramsey. JL first option though.
  3. I think JL would do well against BL. He’ll appreciate having a bit more time on the ball. As long as he’s fit, his abrasive nature would be extremely useful in the derby too. Give him the first 60 mins or the last 30.

That’s fair enough I suppose. Not been a critic of Ramsey myself, but it feels like his fee was a ‘bit lumpy’ for someone who is just about good enough to come in for a couple of games here and there. If we’re honest. As @Heron has pointed out, I’m expecting more from him.
  6. People were piling in on Gordon just a couple of days ago. Get rid…..disinterested…….wants Liverpool……never been good enough, really. And then he plays like he did today. Hasn’t been often enough though lately so different people have different opinions about the players. Why is that a problem? I haven’t berated Miley. Haven’t said he’ll never make it. Just said he isn’t flashing much considering his obvious skill set. Hardy a polemic pov, like…
  7. I agree with that in principle. Possession wise we’ve not been great when in a competitive game. Today though….
  8. I thought Willock looked quite assured tbh. Like he belonged there at least.
  9. I’m hopeful that if we see more of Ramsey and Elanga over the holiday period we’ll see some and more improvement. Maybe they need games like this to bed in.
  10. Are you suggesting Miley will also have to move away to become a better player than he is currently? I wasn’t going that far. I just said a loan.

He didn’t move much when facing play in their box. No clever spins, not even a quick step to the side to get a bit of separation and give the ball player the option.
  12. It seems sacrilege to say it on here, but he looks very ‘meh’ to me. Ridiculously risk averse. Tidy, sure. Never looked like he wanted to make anything happen. if we buy another midfielder in Jan I’d loan him out and see if he can establish himself as a ‘main man’ in a lower league side.

Mmmmmm…… Maybe he’ll handle Leverkuesen better as it’s what he’s used to. Not really in the game today, though.
  14. Some good crosses and some awful general football. Better than he has been but still less effective than Murphy on a bad day. onwards and upwards, hopefully.

Sometimes players only need to be a few % below their operating standard to look quite ropey. That little extra sharpness, shifting of balance, etc elevates them. Willock is an example. Whether it’s mental or a genuine need to be tack sharp to perform I don’t know. You do see it though. It’s a limitation for sure, you’d want a top footballer to adapt to the condition they’re in but I guess some find it easier to do than others.
  16. Said that before, actually. Him been slow = him being available!

Was largely excellent. Got caught once or twice but Kudus can produce real magic (only very occasionally for Spurs, it seems).

Guess he needs more time. That’s how it is.
