Ashley's policies are unlikely to change just because Mort comes back. Apart from talking to the fans what else did he actually do? Is it because he seems a nice bloke?

no ambition ? Villa bigger and more ambitious than Newcastle ? Well, they acted it in the past, but not since 1992 they haven't been, until now that is. They've spent more than most teams in the Prem this year. It's going well for them an'll. Still think O'Neill's a uselss leprechaun?

Sell Taylor for stupid money and buy David Villa. Asif...

Doubt we'll sign anyone if we sack Wise. He's signed some good players too true...but hopefully he will leave in the summer when we appoint shearer! Long term the manager does his job along with his own scouts! Yeah, the scouts this year have been sh*t...... -

McKay just stirring the pot hoping for a payday. -
Actually, i'm sure i remember you saying Taylor was better than Richards. Well, they're both having a bit of a reality check from the hype now. I think Richards wants to play CB because he'd more involved (nothing wrong with that) and he probably cruised it at reserve/youth level because of his athleticism, better at RB imo, would have more licence to attack more too. Oh well...

How many headers did Viduka win yesterday? None that i can remember. No point trying long ball against Wigan then, Owen doesn't really work the channels so it'll be up to the wide men to make the game for us i reckon. Unless Titus just hands it to us, of course...

Tricky one for me; Hughes is doing a great job, keeping them near the bottom. On the other hand, i'd love to see the ungracious bastards face when the camera's shoved into his car window just after being relieved of his duties at City :)

He's got a proper touch of the 'Glen Johnsons' about him. If he moves to a lower profile club he'll come good in about 4 years i reckon
-
Christ!!!!! How off the boil can you get? He has been truly gash lately (highlights only, no actual live game time viewed). What's he doing at CB an'all? Looked good at RB. All i can say is...........good tbh

Lennon put in 3 dangerous balls i reckon, once when he cut in and played Huddlestone through. That wasn't Rickys fault because on the Butt/Guthrie should have come across to help him out. I thought he did pretty wll against Lennon. Lennon's accelaration is incredible but after 10 yards Ricky's closing in on him or at least keeping pace. I reckon if Lennon would've switched to the left Beye would have had a harder time. Didn't understand why Butt/Guthrie didn't double up, Lennon was their most dangerous player. When Zoggy had the ball Spurs doubled up on him often. When a player is as quick as Lennon you're always going to lose him now and again.

You've got a real bee in your bonnet when it comes to Jarles! He's not great but he's OK, could get better. Importantly he cost f**k all. Everyone has players they just don't like for one reason or another and i get the impression it's Zog for you, which is fine. Is it you don't like him as a player or you don't like some of the other posters inflated opinion of him?
-
Yet still massively more useful than Duff, so he keeps his place for me.
-
that would be a help, swap him alan smith for stephen warnock Really? i bet Alan Smith's a better LB.
-
Kinnear seems to think Riise is.....
-
Then again, how many players have been given a £100+k contract at 25, and then still offered £90k aged 29? Ballack?
-
Where do you think we would have finished this season if Keegan had stayed? If they supported KK 100% in a reasonable fashion and got him the players he wanted in the positions he wanted, a lot higher than our aims will be this season, top 8 perhaps, maybe top 6 We're only a couple of points off that now.
-
If Martins doesn't play and i'd put Viduka in. I'd expect the spuds to play a bit deeper anyway. If Fatboy gets a game we should really ping the crosses in, get in wide and get some crosses in. Our centre midf will have less time then they did yesterday i reckon so spray it, let Honas and Jarles run it and cross.

It didn't make a difference yesterday because Pompey were gash and didn't fancy having a go.

Don't you mean Boris Johnson? Michael.

Right, i'm sure this is the right guy!!!!!!! This chappy looked like a great prospect at WHam, SBR enquired iirc, went to Chewsea for sill money, started well, got raped by Bolton (remember it like it was yesterday) and went seriously downhill. Can't remember what happened next but then he ended up at Portsmouth where he's looked an accomplished RB. They really missed him yesterday imo. 2 points: i) Habib is the wrong side of 30, GJ would be a good replacement, don't know if he's want to come or if MA would pay for him, shame. ii) i reckon Enrique (it's like i'm his mum or something...) would take less time to turn into a good LB. Just a bit of patience and perserverence.
-
He's alright taking people on and getting forward he just doesn't seem to have a clue what to do when he's in a dangerous position. If you could teach him how to cross I honestly think he'd be one of the best rb's in the league if the not the best. He's a very good player but is no Bosingwa True but if he could attack better he'd be outstanding. He never seems to get any recognition outside of toon fans. probably good otherwise someone would nick him. Well, he ain't gonna learn now! I reckon Glen Johnson might be a good option to take over from Habib. Better going forward, not as great at defending though!
-
I agree. Christ, i'm starting to sound like some Enrique fanboy! I just think that he's the type of player that needs some investment of coaching and experience and he'll be a good player. He's decent enough at defending already. I can't think of one REALISTIC LB in ther EPL i'd go for to replace him.
-
Quite hard to judge though on a set of highlights tbf, yes he had a nightmare. Although I can't say I've seen enough of him to make an honest assessment on his abilities. Tried watching a bit more recently (streams permitting). Don't fancy him at LB. We've got better already.
