Think we need Botman starting ahead of Burn because we need the passing ability. We lack that in general. Tough on Burn as defensively he’s been epic. He’s not bad on the ball either, just that Botman is better. Can’t say for Schar/Thiaw until we see him play.

Hope there’s achievable add-ons to bump this up closer to 140-150m.

Would love us to sign someone who’s speciality is actually passing the ball, like….

Well, the proof will be in the pudding. If we get through the 1 st phase of the CL and have the squad depth and talent to qualify for it again next year they will have done a good job.

What pisses me off more is that we probably have some headroom for a midfielder that I think we really need but I would absolutely astonished if they manage to get that together. Our executive team looks piss poor tbh. Very badly organised.

The absolute fixation with Prem experience is odd though, other teams seem to manage just fine buying abroad and quite frankly, our hit rate with non Prem players is exceptional.

I think having a 10 probably means a 2 man midfield off which neither Bruno not JL7 looked capable of doing effectively. Sandro can. Miley and Willock certainly can’t, don’t know about Ramsey.

You can put all the makeup you want on it, it’s a pig of a transfer. Extortionate fee for his age. We’ve had forever to research and scout players but have been unwilling/incapable of doing so. I’m sure he’ll do well for a bit. And then we’ve got a Wilson situation again but we’ve been robbed for the privilege.

Lack of leadership in key positions at the club through what as a very, very important couple of months. If EH left we’d be scrapping in around 15-10th such is the lack of direction. Expect its rare clubs like ManU and Spurs have such terrible seasons and on top of that we have a good season and find ourselves in the CL again. Opportunities like that come up a competent and ambitious leadership team make hay. I felt like they knew Isak was going, or they were gonna let him go from the moment we bid for Ekitike. Also agree we seem to start the season’s slowly. I’ve imagined, because of our intense style we let the players build up that last 5% of stamina as the games start to try and avoid burn out.

When we switched to a 4 3 3, for a period we started moving the ball quickly. Leeds looked under real pressure when we did. Could never get Osula in a shooting position though and we kinda just petered out. Think Woltemade will make a huge difference. Love Isak (as a player) but tbh his hold up play, or come-deep-lay-it-off was pretty ordinary. He’s not quite strong enough for it. Big Nick will offer us that for sure.

Botman was our best CB today. Glad to see him get minutes. Hope he’s fine. His passing will be a big difference to our season.

Looked our best player by a mile today. Passing was so crisp and ‘Italian’.

He might well have a eureka moment and start putting it all together. His biggest issue is reading the game. Obviously, a loan to a Champ club so can find out what works for him would be preferable. Who knows with our situation though…

Pings the ball well but only to the side and back. Big lad but it’s the top 2 inches that are the problem. He was better 2 years ago when he was playing with real enthusiasm. Let’s see how the season rolls out. But for me, looks like we only have 5 midfielders that can comfortably start a game and we have too many games this season for them to last. Need an addition.

It seems he never passes, he never tackles but he does shoot (effectively tbf). He’s not the type of player I would’ve expected us to be interested in..

Given the money these people are paid, and the fact they truly earn it during a difficult period, not after. It beggars belief we have no CEO and no one experienced in charge of transfers. It is pure negligence. To say ‘they don’t want to be tainted by this window ‘ is f**king nonsense in my eyes. It’s the f**king job, rough with the smooth. If it’s the case they can’t be available until after the window shuts they were not the right choices in the 1st place. We’re 1 key resignation away from being a complete and total sh*t show. And if I was him, I’d have already started thinking about my plan B.
