Reeeellllllaaaaaaxxxxxx! I'm sticking up for you and your fellow Anons.
-
Don’t need that at all. Just ask @Froggy. He knows all the players wages, net and gross, all the clauses, agents fees, etc. Full and complete spreadsheet from his glory hunters forum.

I’d be amazed if we had a complete overhaul. Eddie requires such a niche combination of attributes. That’s why he can only choose from an incredibly small pool of players. We’re far more restricted than other clubs because of that. Perhaps that’s been the problem this season. For what he requires, Wolt, Elangaand, Wissa didn’t quite fit the mould. Ramsey a bit better but perfect either.
-
I'm sure they'll want more than that and there will be teams in the Prem who will pay it.
-
I'm sure there was someone on here who had a connection to Bruno, indirect iirc, and they had said right at the beginning of the season (or maybe the end of last) that Bruno G would move on after this year. I think I remember PSG being mentioned. He's a fantastic personality and an absolute baller. We're a club that currently doesn't prioritise ballers over runners, quite the opposite so I have presumed he will want to move on and I will miss him enormously but won't begrudge it. With his talents he does deserve to be in a team up the sharp end of things that are competing for serious trophies year in, year out. C'est la vie.

Will enjoy his ball control and passing while he's here.

Thought the tactics and approach was wild from the off. Maybe the idea was to try and rattle Barca and make them play catch up if we nicked a goal. We're not a team who can manage 5 or 6 consecutive passes let alone manage a game so I thought that was very hopeful. Man to man was never ever going to stick for 90 mins. And Burn and Trippier was always going to be very high risk playing like that. EH got found out a bit. So it goes. Was a painful score line. Puts a lot of good work in the shade which is a shame. Still, we did very very well to get that far. Unfortunately, given the state of the modern game and the power of agents. The players who are good enough to play at that level (or think they are) probably won't bother giving everything to NUFC to get us there again. They'll just agitate for a move. Hopefully we'll blow the bad feelings away at the weekend and then try and get some consistent Prem results. Insha'Allah.

Yeah, he was particularly bad last night. I really think the tactics of tight man to man on a huge pitch against nippy Barca players was a very dubious idea and asking Burn to attempt that was a bad call.

Bought a Ferrari Grand Tourer. Decent boot space, actually. Any good? Sort of. Sometimes it can’t do basic manoeuvres, sometimes won’t really work at all. Other times I’ve even managed to get 40mph out of it on the dual carriageway. Replaces my Micra which did all of those things with ease for an absolute fraction of the price.

Surely you pay more money for taking less risk. you’re paying more for the lesser risk they’ll perform at least at the previous levels and probably at a higher level once surrounded by better players/coaches.
-
Making himself important. He was very busy with lots of good ideas. He’s got a bit of the advanced playmaker about him.
-
I thought he was decent today. Better than Willock. More involved. Not Bruno/Sandro levels but he looked a lot more reliable with and without the ball.
-
Need a bit of time off anyway imo.
-
Top performance. He needs a little rest now or a niggle/strain is round the corner.
-
Looked liked a very useful player tonight. Was tough to play without a real CF but he certainly did his part.

I want you to think about this logically.....if, for 2 years running Manu don't get into the CL those players with that clause will be on just over half their salary. Do you think the agents who get commissions on this sort of thing are soooooooo desperate for their clients to play for you they're happy to take such a hit to the pocket? A 25% bonus for qualifying which is then (obvs) not given for failure to qualify is understandable. But compound losses? Player on £100k (p/w) Manu miss CL Now on £75k Manu miss out again the following year Now on £56k It's not the whole squad's fault for not qualifying. What if you're only a minor squad member? What if the club appoints managers that aren't good enough? What if the club splurges loads of cash on a load of duds? Suddenly a player who had no influence over that is on less than a Wolves reserve. Given how money mad the agents are, I can't see it. It's all to financially orientated now.
-
You said they take a 25% pay cut every time the club doesn’t qualify for the CL. Not, they lose out in their 25% bonus as I suggested, no you were insistent all your reputable sources were confirming a 25% cut. Each time. I mean, come on….
-
Froggy hasnt a doobie. Don’t get drawn into it. He’s not got the first idea what any of Man U players are paid let alone players for other clubs. He’s as knowledgeable as the rest of us as to how much any one club has offered another player in the negotiation process. Knows nowt, just like the rest of us. if his ‘reputable source’ is a members only Manu forum or whatever click bait the rest of us see, it’s integrity is negligible. At best. If we take Froggy’s account of things to be true they’ll be plenty of top Manu players on YTS contract levels of remuneration due to all the penalty clauses invoked due to their hierarchy fuckking up every which way. Something ONLY the agents of players signing for Manu neglected to mitigate against. Sure.
-
I like your posts but this a wild take. Almiron’s pressing was instrumental in our early success. It was worth far more to us than his and Elanga’s offensive outputs combined.
-
You have to remember Mbuemo actually took a pay cut to join Man U. As soon as he signed they actually took 25% off the wage he’d agreed in the contract because they weren’t in the CL.
-
Never read any comments like that myself. Saw people say he should get many more chances to play. And when he didn’t, they wondered if he’d benefit from some first team minutes somewhere . Include myself in that. But multiple posters saying he had nothing……must have missed that (and quite possibly did).
-
Im not even sure bringing that many players , even in if we could, would be a good idea. Too much turnover and upheaval. 2 or 3 starters. Or what look like starters but may need 6 months to bed into the system.

I look at our squad and think we just don’t have the players to play good possession football. That doesn’t mean hanging onto the ball and doing nothing for 20 passes around your own box, means passing and moving and getting the ball upfield in a controlled manner without trying Hollywood balls every 3rd touch. We don’t do it and I think it must be the squad. But the likes of Everton and Fulham can do it. Some of Everton’s passing today was pretty class tbh. Then I think we’ve got Hall, Botman, Bruno, Sandro and Wolt. Those are ballers tbh. So then I start thinking it must be the system. I started to think we needed a change last season but then we won the Cup and I just stopped thinking about it. Job done. But the next season has come and we’ve got worse. I’ve total faith in the idea that Eddie can see exactly what’s going wrong and what adjustments the players should be making to address that. Are they just not listening? Is the plan he’s trying to implement just not good enough? Is it good enough in principle but he hasn’t the right players to make it work? Is there not a tactical ideology out there that could make these players mesh and be effective? It’s March (almost), we can’t say he hasn’t spent enough time with the players to get his ideas across. What’s going wrong? We can neither attack effectively nor defend. A midfield doesn’t create enough and doesn’t protect.
