  1. You just can't really go by such sweeping statements. Reading are down. I wouldn't mind Nicky Shorey though, we need another left back. I also wouldn't mind Larsson from Birmingham. I'd also take a punt on Giles Barnes from Derby if he could prove his fitness. The point is, it is about getting the right players at the right time. If they're decent players, they're decent players, no matter where they've come from.
  2. Bought shirts for all of the away support yesterday, didn't he? Nice gesture, that. Seems a top bloke. Yes. My mate's bringing mine over tonight (had to let me ticket go, but insisted I kept the shirt). Top man.
  3. My favourite moment was the 5-1 drubbing of our near neighbours, but in particular, Mellberg doing this when being subbed. http://i30.tinypic.com/soshtj.gif
  4. Think he had big problems with his knees in the past, but he always looks sharp whenever I see him play. He usually scores against us, as well.
  5. I think Gold cares a lot more than Sullivan does, and I suspect he will end up buying Sullivan's shares off him. Kapo will be off, he practically said as much in the post match interview. Zarate won't want to hang around, and there will be people happy to take him from that Qatari club who have his registration. Someone may even fancy the look of Jerome. I think they'll lose a few, but they're certainly better equipped than, say, Derby to come straight back up again. They've also got the advantage of a few players (Ridgewell, McSheffery) who'll be playing at their natural level in the championship and will probably deliver the goods. I'd never admit this to other Villa fans, but I wouldn't be at all disappointed if we bought Forssell off them.
  6. When Bruce left, Birmingham had just lost 7 out of their previous 8 games. Things were already on the slide. Regardless of that, though, I'd still have bet on Bruce making a better fist of keeping them up than McLeish being dropped into it with things at such a low. The boardroom unrest has been there since the start of the season, if it hadn't, then I think they'd have had a decent chance of staying up. The situation still isn't clear now (even before the events of yesterday) - Sullivan has been talking all season about wanting out.
  7. The boardroom unrest has been behind almost everything, including Steve Bruce. Sullivan and the Golds allowed that potless shyster Carson Yeung to drag out his takeover bid for a ridiculous period. Yeung refused to agree to renew Bruce's contract, Bruce walked. He wasn't sacked. Gold can bleat all he likes, but deep down he knows that he and the rest of the board are the ones who fucked up Birmingham's season.
  8. 3,500 empty seats as well yesterday, on a match of that importance, and tickets available at a tenner in most parts of the ground. Fucking rabble. Honestly, look at this bunch. http://images.icnetwork.co.uk/upl/birmpost/feb2008/4/6/5A2C956C-0747-0AC3-3F443D38D8C3F690.jpg
  9. Indeed. Observe the 70s-tastic goal smashage http://images.icnetwork.co.uk/upl/birmpost/may2008/5/6/DA229F87-F40F-404D-C5002F29B9B17E53.jpg Smashing up their own ground. Retards.
  10. Looked perfectly fair to me.
  11. 51 fucking years. For fuck's sake.
  12. Just said the same. Corker by Downing too. And Rochemback. I know it may be wrong but I think he is a decent footballer at times. When he can be arsed. Looks like he eats Parmo and chips most nights. I was just thinking the same, he's clearly no stranger to the biscuit barrel.
  13. Nice gesture from Solano today, not celebrating his goal against us.
  14. People picking Barry need to be aware of the fact that he went missing for a good chunk of this season, at least three months. He's an excellent player, but I don't see how he can make anyone's team of THIS season.
  15. I had to give my ticket to a friend today, but I made him promise to give me the shirt. What a man Olof is. Touch of class.
  16. Chelsea's away support was always more impressive back in those days, Robster, when they brought far fewer than they do now (and they didn't even manage to sell their allocation at our place this season), but they were proper, old school Chelsea fans who gave a shit. Their plastic supporters now are beyond pathetic. When Liverpool scored in their CL semi final, they were absolutely silent.
  17. Chelsea had money before Abrahmovich came along, Matthew Harding put a fair few quid in, hence their success in the 90s. They're still a despicable, vile little pisspot club, though. Although, having said that, I still hope they beat Man U in the CL
  18. I am nodding my approval so vigourously, I fear my head might come off. I can think of ten good reasons to be happy Fulham stayed up. I can't think of one single reason to want Birmingham to do so. Good riddance to bad shit. PS: FUCKING GET IN!!!!
  19. SSN were interviewing Chelsea supporters before the match. There were 4 fans interviewed, two from Ireland, one American and one Brummy accent in think it was. They are just as bad tbh. However, Liverpool trump both of them They have far, far more plastic fans than Manchester United or Chelsea do.
  20. Is that enough for them to lose their Fair Play standing..? That would be quite funny. Where is Speccy these days? Not seen him for ages.
