You say that like it is a negative thing. He's not got the experience Hargreaves has, but he's as good as Carrick was when he left Spurs. Carrick was the main reason Spurs got to 5th place that season, you've just said yourself Barry has only performed for half a season. This season. He's still a very good player and an England international, and worth considerably more than 10m. I'd estimate 15-16m at least. If they want him, they can pony up the cash. If they haven't got the cash, then they can do one.

Incidentally, I suspect the main reason Benitez is attempting to push cast offs on MON is because he's got no money this summer. I also think that leaking the offer to the Liverpool Echo when we had a crucial game the next day was a shitty, shitty trick.

Aye was shocked to see him say that. Maybe it was taken out of context to sound like he wanted to sell though. Mind you i think i read somewhere that he would consider a bigger offer. O'Neills body language suggests that he believes Barry wants to go. If i was a Villa fan i wouldn't worry O'Neill's a good manager and Barry, albeit a very good player, isn't a world beater. I could see them getting 20m for him. I can't see him going for anywhere near that amount, £14 million max and that would be too much. I think Liverpool will try and push some of their cast offs in as part of the deal, possibly Finnan. He won't want cast offs, especially not 32 year old ones. They can stick their shit goalkeeper up their arses, too. He's an England midfielder. How much did Michael Carrick go for? I certainly don't see how he can be rated at 10m, that's a joke.

Got to trust the manager. He got a relegated doomed squad to mid table last year, and without spending excessively last summer has got us to (probably) 6th. I trust him.

Barry will go, nailed on. As I've mentioned here a few times, he's a very good player, but he's had at best half a season this year. If he went for a decent price, I genuinely wouldn't be that bothered (so long as we replace him with someone with a bit of quality - easier said than done, mind). He'll get rotated into obscurity at Liverpool, though

Keegan obviously did the right thing, then, as Thompson turned into a model pro and has had a good career. He was only 19, wouldn't read too much into it.

He's a billionaire you nutter His personal fortune was over £2 billion before he took over.. £1800 million when he took over, £1200 million now. That is 33% of his wealth lost since coming here. Only two years left at this rate "The only way to become a millionaire by running a football club is to start off as a billionaire". I don't know who said that.

Tony Mowbray can speak English but with a strangely mangled diction. Maybe he could be your halfway house? Thats just a good Boro accent! Surely Mowbray has also suffered some kind of head trauma to sound like that though? I've got mates of the Boro persuasion, and he sounds like they would if they'd spent 3 months in intensive care or had a stroke.

I know it is easy for me to say this, but I think people need to chill out a bit. Lots of journalists wringing sensational headlines out of nothing, people on the internet getting themselves in a tither. All over what is almost certainly nothing. This summer, when the last kick of the season has finished, that's it for me. No football web sites over the summer, no frantic checking for transfer gossip, no worrying about transfer budgets. Things are only going to get more stressful.

Absolute stroke of genius. Think back to England making (nearly) the same mistake two years ago, then make it yourself. What an idiot.

What nonsense. Stephen Carr seems right choice for O'Neill 7/05/2008 Martin O'Neill has turned to Newcastle's Stephen Carr to fill Aston Villa's vacancy at right-back after being priced out of a move for Jose Boswinga. O'Neill was quoted £16.5million for Porto's Portugal international, but Carr, 31, is available on a free this summer. The Villa boss is desperate for at least one new right-back as Olof Mellberg is joining Juventus, while Nigel Reo-Coker and Craig Gardner have had to play there in emergencies this season I'm not accusing you of nonsense, I'm accusing the Daily Mirror. And I'm trying to get you to bite. The words "Stephen", "Carr" and "Villa" in close proximity make me shiver. In a bad shiver way.

He's not afraid to. 9.65 on Young 9-10 on Curtis Davies 8.5 on NRC.

Come on Newcastle, do us a fucking favour and turn them over.

I agree with the sentiment, but that phrase always makes me laugh - "look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself a few questions". *looks self in mirror* "Did i look better when I had hair?" "When did i start puting all this weight on?" "Is my third chin immediately obvious?" "What is that weird hair growing out of my right nostril?"

Surely our ambition extends beyond signing these sort of players Steven Davis is step up attacking wise to most of our midfielders. Johnson I am not sure of. Steven Davis isn't good enough for top level football, sadly.

He's being paid by us at the moment. He should be keeping quiet and not saying anything at all to the press.
-
The thing about letting loads of players go at once, is that you then have to replace them all pretty quickly. Regardless of whether or not a club has the money, it is actually quite hard to sign good players these days. We've also got the European Championships this summer, nothing much will be happening whilst they are on, I imagine. I'd expect evolution rather than revolution if I were you.

I remember that ugly cunt Stubbs telling Rooney to go to United. I wonder if Berger is in an agents pocket too? Berger is an absolute wanker for that. Refused to play for the reserves last season, so MON sent him on loan to Stoke. Comes back a reformed character, plays about three times due to injury, wangles himself a final one year contract which is just about to end, then comes out with this shit. Wanker.

Unlike that hairy handed Coventry cocksucker Richard Keys "David, you played abroad, what is that period of adaption like?" David Platt. He's another former hero of mine I now can't stand. He's also such an ugly bastard. His face looks like a normal person's face as viewed in the reflection on the back of a dessert spoon

Blimey. Torres has learned English quickly.
