The price obtained for players sold probably does matter e.g. Sell for £10m, £5m goes in to the transfer fund. Sell for £5m and £2.5m goes in to the transfer fund.

Debuchy cost NUFC something like £6m. I can't imagine Mike Ashley would be happy to sell him for £8m when he still has a few years left to run on his contract. What about the supposed interest from PSG, Monaco and Bayern? Why sell to Arsenal for a relatively low fee when other clubs could bid more? I'll believe it when it happens (although the fee will be undisclosed anyway).

NUFC supposedly didn't want him as they are confident they will get their top striker targets. We'll all hold our breath on that happening won't we? Most teams have at least 3 strikers. The teams who play one striker tend to have creative, goal scoring attacking midfielders supporting them. Well NUFC have Cisse and either don't play or have creative, goal scoring attacking midfielders.

I can't believe Mike Ashley wants NUFC to be relegated as that will mean no more TV money and his asset (NUFC) would be worth dramatically less. I do believe he is happy to do the bare minimum to ensure NUFC stay in the Premiership. He also likes to take risks so his idea of the bare minimum probably isn't the same as ours. Based on our squad as it is now we are going to be fighting relegation. There are next to no goal scorers in the team. Goal scorers are the most expensive players to buy. NUFC will probably try to loan some fire power from the likes of Chelsea.
