  1. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/steve-bruce-holds-talks-newcastle-16571734 See? Steve Bruce was always their first choice.
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if they spent a decent amount of money in the 3 weeks before the transfer window closes. They'll have their list of scouted players Rafa didn't approve. They spent £80m when Steve McClaren was appointed. They may want to be seen to be backing their appointment of Steve Bruce (while really just hoping every player they buy can be flipped for a big profit as soon as possible). All the more disgusting when Rafa had a negative transfer budget over the 3 years. Sell to buy for Rafa but loads of transfer funds to back PFM shite.

  4. The signings will be nothing to do with Bruce. They will come from the scouted list after approval by Ashley/Charnley i.e. players they hope to get for relatively low fees and then sell on when they've had some decent performances in the Premiership. If they don't have decent performances in the Premiership expect them to be on loan to foreign clubs until their contract expires.
  5. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/steve-bruce-going-newcastle-hotseat-16571658 He's coming in with his eyes open so give him Hell.
  6. The match going fans will be proudly singing about how loyal they are.
  7. He's not greedy or delusional, just a bog standard championship manager who is being offered the job of a lifetime. Why wouldn't he take it? Does anyone really think he's waiting around for Man U to come calling? Of course he'll eat Ashley's shit, he's used to eating owner poop at lower levels than this. Why's he not greedy? He's already rich so doesn't need the money. Like when all these managers get sacked and idiots feel sorry for them e.g. Pardew crying but no one forced him to stay in the job. He could have walked at any time. They all hang on to get their pay out. If he's got enough money already, why would he leave Sheffield? It's a step up and a chance to manage a big club which he'll never get again. Why wouldn't a championship manager take it, especially one who's on the way down? He should have enough money to live on comfortably for the rest of his life (after multiple decades in football). If he wants to get a few million more by taking the NUFC job then fine but he shouldn't complain if he's hated for it.

  9. Bruce is already a multi millionaire. He's only taking this job due to greed and a delusional belief in his own managing abilities. He deserves all the shit he's going to get. He's walking into this job with his eyes open. If he does a job good enough to keep NUFC in the Premiership all that does is ensure Mike Ashley profits and therefore makes him less likely to sell NUFC. It's like thanking someone for keeping you alive just so someone else can carry on torturing you without you dying on them.
  10. The good players should sack their agents if they're still at NUFC when the transfer window closes.
  11. What I find amazing is how NUFC/Mike Ashley isn't even news anymore. Go on the BBC website and NUFC don't make the top story on the sport page (even when it was announced that Rafa was leaving). The fake takeovers are taken as fact and not investigated. The approach of Sam Allardyce is just his quotes. There is no journalism. The appointment of Steve Bruce probably won't come with a comment piece from the chief sports writer questioning the logic of it. It's like no one cares anymore. These days, as long as you are super rich you can do whatever the fuck you like and there will be very little comeback. Probably because a lot of the time the same rich bastard owns the media company.
  12. Exactly. It's free money being one of the PFM shit managers. Some idiot always employs them and then they get a massive pay off when sacked after doing a predictable shit job.
  13. In hindsight it would have been better if Rafa had never been NUFC manager. He only delayed what we are now experiencing. Maybe this Hell would have been over by now if Mike Ashley had been allowed to carry out his moronic, logic defying decisions for the last 3 years?
  14. I bet Sheffield Wednesday replace Bruce with a better manager.
  15. Even if NUFC would pay for Joelinton why would he accept a move to NUFC? Why would any player want to come here? The only reason would be money and so we'll be back to a team of mercenaries.
  16. Has any club ever gone into a season in such chaos? No manager (at the time of writing, a shit manager is being lined up). No senior team coaches. No new players. Top two goal scorers of the previous season gone. Toxic relationship between fans and owner. It's a 10 for me.
  17. What I can never get my head around is the fact all these managers are multi millionaires. They don't 'need' to work but someone is going to take a role where they know they'll be disliked from the off. Who is so deluded that they think they can win over a hostile fan base at a club which is totally toxic due to the hated owner and thinks they can enhance their reputation?
  18. Expect the worst possible candidate and you won't be far wrong.
  19. Charnley's 'To Do' list to be completed over the next 29 days is quite the mammoth undertaking: - Appoint a new manager. Buy players who will increase in value (this one is a 'nice to have' rather than a must do). Sell players.
  20. As they have a goal of one day owning NUFC, why don't they just start a phoenix club and support that instead? There's more chance of that club rising the ranks and getting to the Premiership than Mike Ashley relinquishing NUFC.
  21. Seriously though, if Ashley insists on appointing a manager/head coach, why doesn't he just hire Moyes or one of the other out of work managers no one wants? Saves on compensation, will be as equally unwelcome by the fans and they'd do a job of equal quality as any of the other shit managers Ashley would consider employing.
  22. Why doesn't Ashley save himself the compensation money and just leave the under 23s staff in charge? He might as well. I'll have a good laugh when I read the stories in a few months time about how Ashley is livid that NUFC have been relegated again.
  23. Does he not loan it out or whatever? Seems like if you have a plane anytime it's sitting doing nowt is wasted money Privately owned helicopters and planes are usually available to hire. Most owners don't constantly need a plane/helicopter on standby ready to go at a moments notice. Like you said, they're very expensive to buy, maintain, operate and park. I doubt Mike Ashley is flying round the country every day on-board his helicopter.
  24. They want someone with experience of managing in the Premier League. I notice it doesn't specify wanting someone who has had a good experience of managing in the Premier League. Experience of being relegated from the Premier League? You could be just who we are looking for.
  25. How long does this size of takeover usually take ? And how long has this one been going (that's different to when was the story broken)? Not sure but Mike Ashley's takeover of NUFC didn't take long. He got it done really quick (possibly due to lack of due diligence). Did the Man City takeover take a long time? I guess my point is if the buyer has the cash things seem to move quickly.
