  1. Not when you're on the end of it but at least Man City keep trying to score goals. I hate it when dominant teams just waste time and don't go for more goals.
  2. Watford players weren't exactly busting a gut to get back there were they?
  3. One negative of Schar is the number of yellow cards he gets. He got 12 this season which makes him (along with quite a few other players) the second most booked player. Top was 14 bookings. I remember when we signed him he was known for getting yellow cards so he lived up to that. https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/yellow_card
  4. No because I didn't vote for anyone. You rate Hayden as Championship quality but Rafa picked him to start ahead of all our other centre midfielders (he got his chance due to injuries to others but kept his place).
  5. Love the mix of our back 3 With the knee injury to Lejeune though I’d like to see us add the speed and physicality of N’Soki as a talented left sided backup for him I think having Schar and N’Soki either side of Lascelles aggressively nicking the ball would be good depth next season. This Summer has to be the time to move on the Championship players like Clark and start improving the quality/talent of our depth. We shouldn’t be seeing numbers like 8 out of the 11 starters having started for us in the Championship in our 3rd season up next season. Time to move Darlow, Clark, Hayden, Diame, Atsu, Gayle on. Hayden? Missed the 2019 part of the season did you? Ciaran Clark was our 4th top Premiership goalscorer this season (with 3). We'll miss his goals!
  6. UEFA will need to plant a lot of trees to cover the carbon footprint of holding the final in Baku. You'd think environmental impact would hold some sway these days.
  7. "transfer rumours" is the thread name. 80%+ of media transfer stories never come to pass. Bullshit put out by agents, media for clicks, players, clubs, etc.

  9. There's more than one reason why we didn't do as well in most of those games. Rondon wasn't match fit or didn't play a lot of those games. We also played with 4 at the back for a lot of those games. Our form improved when Rondon was fit, we switched to 3 centre backs and 2 wing backs, Perez, Hayden and Longstaff came in to good form as well as Schär starting.
  10. The fact that he signed a new contract while aware that Premiership clubs were interested in him tells you he didn't want to move.
  11. The West Brom owners were accused of being racist for sacking Darren Moore. If they appoint Hughton it'll just be so they can sack him down the line the racist bastards.
  12. The other way round! He knows he's not up to PL standards consistently enough and quite clearly enjoys playing in the Championship a lot more. Good luck to him! Yes but what I said isn't my opinion it is what Gayle has said. I don't blame him for wanting to play in the Premiership. He has more than proved himself in the Championship. He has never really had a full season in the Premiership as a first choice striker.

  14. Gayle wants to play in the Premiership. He won't sign for a Championship club.
  15. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/isaac-hayden-lifts-lid-uncertain-16273186 Is he really though?
  16. If they get relegated, they've made the wrong decision. It would mean the manager they replaced Hughton with had failed. It could also mean the quality of the other teams in the Premier League had improved (for example NUFC scored more points this season than last season but finished in 13th when it was 10th the season before).
  17. If Brighton get relegated under their new manager that doesn't prove they would have stayed up had they kept Hughton.
  18. I said £15m for Gayle based on what the top Championship clubs paid for their strikers over the last 2 seasons. Quite possible to get more now. Gayle doesn't want to play in the Championship again. I'd keep him (unless we can get better) as he would suit as an option in our front 3 (Rondon or similar at the main striker dependent).
  19. Diamé is out of contract. I think you underestimate how much Dwight Gayle is worth. He has the highest goals to minutes played in the Championship this season and the 4th top scorer overall. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/top-scorers I'd expect £15m for him if he's sold. Ciaran Clark has 2 years left on his contract. He has got to be worth more than £2m.
  20. What is the general conscious of Brighton fans regarding the sacking of Chris Hughton? If they think his time was up they're probably correct. They watch the games after all. Hughton's record in 2019 was awful. Today I've read idiot fans of other clubs saying "What do they expect? Top 4?" which is the sort of crap leveled at us for wanting to be more than a relegation scrapping team playing awful football.
  21. Out of contract Summer 2019: - Mohamed Diame and Callum Roberts. Out of contract Summer 2020: - Joselu, Javier Manquillo, Federico Fernandez, Ki Sungyueng, Rob Elliot, Karl Darlow, Freddie Woodman and Jamie Sterry. Goalkeepers: - Martin Dubravka is the number 1. After him there is Karl Darlow with 1 year left on his contract. Rafa has said Rob Elliot is available for transfer. Freddie Woodman has 1 year on his contract but probably won't want to stay any longer. I would think NUFC will be after a second choice goalkeeper in the Summer. Centre Backs: - Ciaran Clark, Paul Dummett, Fabian Schär, Jamaal Lascelles, Federico Fernandez and Florian Lejeune. For once NUFC are well stocked with quality Centre Backs. I'd imagine Clark would be most likely to leave due to lack of game time. Left Back/Right Back/Wing Back: - Matt Ritchie, Javier Manquillo, DeAndre Yedlin, Paul Dummett, Jamie Sterry and Achraf Lazaar. Achraf Lazaar and Jamie Sterry will be sold if possible and a LB/LWB is required. Upgrade on RB/RWB if possible. Centre Midfield: - Ki Sungyueng, Jonjo Shelvey, Mohamed Diame, Sean Longstaff, Isaac Hayden, Jack Colback and Henri Saivet. Diame wanted a 2 year contract but wasn't offered one so will almost certainly leave as a free agent. Jack Colback and Henri Saivet are available for transfer. Hayden wants to leave for family reasons to a club further South. Shelvey didn't get much game time due to the form of others. Wingers: - Miguel Almiron, Matt Ritchie, Christian Atsu, Jacob Murphy, Kenedy and Rolando Aarons. Aarons will be available for transfer. Jacob Murphy has been on the bench a lot while on loan with West Brom. Kenedy is on loan from Chelsea. Strikers/Forwards: - Salomon Rondon, Ayoze Perez, Yoshinori Muto, Dwight Gayle, Joselu. Salomon Rondon is on loan from West Brom. Joselu will be available for transfer. Gayle wants to play in the Premiership. Rafa didn't want to loan him out but it was the only way to get West Brom to loan NUFC Rondon. Perez has mentioned wanting to play in Spain. Rondon/Main Striker, LB/LWB, Centre Midfield, 2nd choice goalkeeper then possible upgrades elsewhere seem to be the priority areas (after securing Rafa as manager).
  22. Daniel Sturridge, Danny Welbeck and Andy Carroll are all available as free transfers in the Summer. I wonder which clubs will take a huge risk on those perma-crocks?
