  1. A takeover would have to be completed before the transfer window closes to give new owners time to improve the playing staff. If a takeover isn't completed before then, any interested parties might as well wait until the January transfer window. If NUFC were in a 'safe' place in the table then then try again, if NUFC are in relegation trouble the interested parties will wait until the end of the season to see if NUFC are still in the Premiership. I can't see this takeover happening. If a group wanted to buy NUFC they'd get it done quick. I assume any credible parties interested in buying NUFC could have been looking through the accounts well before Premier League safety was secured.
  2. 'Chronicle Live' are running a vote on which of the manager names mentioned do you want as manager. "Couldn't give a shit" and "Rafa" aren't options you can vote for.

  4. It wasn't pain, it was psychological. Quite common for someone returning from an injury to not fully believe it has completely recovered.
  5. Wouldn't get the wages. Championship wages (never mind Premiership wages) are much higher than the majority of the European leagues.
  6. We already know what Rafa thinks. He'd been quite vocal over the last few seasons over what the club should be doing. He wanted to be able to compete (on a realistic basis). He asked for improvements to the training facilities, a higher maximum wage ceiling to be able to entice better players, a reasonable transfer budget and control on how to spend it, etc. He was told no. Mike Ashley wants a 17th place or higher finish in the Premier League for the least capital outlay. Even better, buy young, cheap players and sell them on for a massive profit. It's as easy as that. Why haven't the rest of the Premiership cottoned on to this genius operating model?
  7. We die. Love 'The Last Starfighter' quote.
  8. Some of his worst work that Rafa stuff. David could have used his strip to show the lunacy of the situation.
  9. While Mike Ashley owns NUFC who gives a s*** who the new manager is? Anyway, we can put all the new Manager/Head Coach/Yes Man/Patsy talk in this thread. If nothing else it keeps the likes of Sam Allardyce, etc names out of the Rafa thread.
  10. Apparently 'New Head Coach' would be a more appropriate title for the thread.
  11. All manner of horror available to read here: - https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-takeover-transfer-news-16474362
  12. Be interesting to see how many go to the St. Etienne friendly on Saturday August 3rd.

  14. Self improvement rather than self destruction. Think of all the time and money you'll save. Channel that time and/or money into something you actually get enjoyment out of. Spend more time on your other interests. Take up a new hobby. Go running, swimming, to the gym, etc. Improve your fitness and mental well being.
  15. From the news articles it sounds like they are going back to the tried and tested (and failed) approach of getting a 'head coach' who is given young players to make a team out of. Imagine the self confidence the new manager/head coach must have in themselves to think they can do an equal or better job than Rafa did but with less say so in which players they have.

  17. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-transfer-news-live-16440740 I think if NUFC were offered nearly £10m for Joselu last January he would have been sold. I doubt Rafa would have blocked the transfer even if a replacement wasn't guaranteed. That would have been a near £5m profit.
  18. Spurs NUFC at home (Black & White Strip) Vs Spurs (in one of their change strips which I assume aren't anything like Black and White) Spurs at home (White Strip) Vs NUFC (Orange strip)
  19. At least the Orange kit is a completely contrasting colour to the Black and White strip. After all, the point of a change strip is to wear it when the main strip clashes with the opposition's strip. I therefore don't see the point of that Grey/Black kit. When would NUFC need to wear that strip over the Black and White strip (apart from marketing purposes)?
  20. Mourinho has an awful record at St. James' Park. His teams were always superior (on paper) but he usually lost or drew. He'd need to change that quickly if he became manager (I'd much rather keep Rafa anyway).
  21. With a transfer ban Chelsea will just have to not loan out as many players. Their manager could pick from a pool of 60+ players. Can you believe they had 41 players out on loan this season gone and even have a dedicated "Players out on loan" section on their website: - https://www.chelseafc.com/en/teams/on-loan-players
  22. Let's wait until the transfer is actually officially completed.
  23. Yes but that was then and this is now. It's not as if he goes home to Liverpool every day. By the sounds of it he's at work early and is the last to leave. If he still wants to work in England (lets face it, you can get from most places in England to Liverpool in less than 6 hours, he could even have gone to PSG and got back to Liverpool in less time via plane and maybe even train) he'll be waiting until a manager is sacked in the new season (unless he stays as NUFC manager).
  24. Makes you wonder why Rafa would turn down all those potentially decent management job offers from Spanish, French and Italian clubs if the NUFC offer was mediocre to poor.
