  1. We didn't. He has 2 seasons left on his contract.
  2. Pretty much all games have gone goal crazy. Defences have taken the day off (apart from a few notable exceptions).
  3. Really hope he stays as I doubt NUFC would be able to replace him with anyone better. We haven't got enough goal scorers as it is.
  4. I'm sure Rafa would rather the club offered him his current £6m a year salary but used the £9m left over to upgrade the training facilities. Basically the same point as chopey who posted at the same time. Not that I believe they've offered Rafa £15m for a year contract.
  5. Most of the match tickets are at least £150.
  6. £1000 a night for Madrid hotel rooms and £750 flights. Liverpool and Spurs fans wanting to attend the Champions League final need deep pockets. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-48214483
  7. Think of the carbon footprint of all those Liverpool and Spurs fans having to travel to Madrid for the final. UEFA have doomed us all.
  8. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/watch-the-champions-league-final-for-free-1st-june-2019-3227101
  9. Do people really think someone is now going to pay over £7million for him this Summer? His fee has probably gone up about £2million/3million at most. You need to update the calibration of your Transfer Fee estimator. Mediocre players cost £15m+ these days. Championship clubs spend £15m+ on their strikers. It's a whole new (crazy) world.
  10. We'd been told he was injured but I'm not sure what the injury was. He's had surgery but we don't know what for. Will he be fit in time for the start of next season?
  11. https://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2019/may/07/david-squires-on-the-premier-league-champions-league-and-kit-news
  12. Pardew brought Alan Smith on for sentimental reasons in the last game of his contract. We were winning 3 - 0 or 3 - 1 with not long to go. The game ended 3 - 3 and NUFC dropped a few places down the table costing the club millions in prize money. Quite the fitting cameo. Alan Smith never scored for us. His speciality was fouling opposition players just outside our penalty area.
  13. I know someone who works in the corporate section. Apparently they knew weeks ago that it would be full of Liverpool fans. There were Police in there and plain clothes Police sitting at tables. Staff weren't allowed to go around on their own due to worries over safety. Staff were threatened when they told Liverpool fans they couldn't take alcoholic drinks out to the box seats. Apparently they've never seen anything like it. The bar brought the shutter down to stop serving them as they were so drunk. £198 a ticket apparently. The staff didn't get out until 3:30am due to the clean up required.
  14. He may well fancy a move to play in the Spanish league but has Pérez ever even lived on mainland Spain? Tenerife is around 2000 km from mainland Spain. Someone from Gibraltar moving to England is less distance than someone from Tenerife moving to Spain.
  15. I presume Diame couldn't have got a 1 year extension and then still be sold? Well yes, he can't be sold if he's out contract. No, I mean he gets the 1 year contract but NUFC sell him for a fee (so Diame could have still got a 2 year+ contract elsewhere).
  16. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-2-3-liverpool-rafa-16227676 So Diame wanted a 2 year contract but if he'd started 25 games he'd have got a 1 year extension. Would Diame have to have accepted that? Did Rafa stop selecting Diame to start for football reasons or contract extension reasons? I presume Diame couldn't have got a 1 year extension and then still be sold?
  17. As if the ref would have sent him off and given us a penalty. If we hadn't scored we'd have got fuck all.
  18. Will Klopp saying that make Sunderland fans hope Newcastle beat Liverpool to help Man City win the title? They're stuck between a rock and a hard place.
  19. Blame the Mirror group owners. All the local papers they own have the exact same website format.
  20. That 'Six in a Row' book by Chris Thompson (where a Sunderland fan does a deal with the Devil for SAFC to beat NUFC 6 times in a row) is desperate for a sequel. 'The Devil gets his due' is my suggestion for the title.
  21. Some said he'd be easy to replace. He's our top goal scorer and he works hard for the team. Mike Ashley's NUFC won't pay what it would take to replace Perez with a player with similar or better stats.
  22. When Welbeck ("they called me Mr. Glass") is fit he doesn't score many goals and that's playing for Arsenal. He'd get less goal scoring chances at NUFC.
  23. Rafa “Almiron is out for at least 3 weeks but we will see how he progresses. He has had his treatment & now he is positive. Lascelles is out of #bhafc game as well with a stomach illness. We have some knocks, but Schar & Hayden for me should be fit.” https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rafa-benitez-press-conference-16185092
