Nope. If Arsenal win the Carling Cup it goes to 6th (assuming they finish top five which they will). If a top six club win the FA Cup it goes to 7th, runner up gets fuck all. If Liverpool win the Europa League and finish in the top five then 8th can get into Europe. We want Arsenal to win this, Man Utd etc to win the FA Cup and Liverpool win the Europa League and finish in the top five. That gives us the best chance of getting into Europe. What happens if Man City win the Europa League? The same I assume?

No wonder Arsenal haven't won a trophy for 5 years. They are powder puff and their keeper isn't great. Good choice playing Zigic against them as they can't handle physical players. Well he failed his medical at Stoke so there's a good chance he would have failed his medical if NUFC we're interested in him. West Ham decided to take a risk that Stoke weren't willing to take.

Which is strange considering he failed a medical for Stoke then went and signed for West Ham.

Gervinho, Sturridge and N'Zogbia would probably cost us around £30m. I can't see NUFC spending that much on 3 players. If Chelsea were willing to sell Sturridge he'd probably cost £10m at the least. He is also on massive wages at Chelsea. NUFC are said to be scouting the Netherlands, Belgium, France and the English leagues lower than the Premiership. They've already said they are looking for the next Tiote and Ben Arfa rather than players who are already well known in the top leagues. Unless players are free signings I doubt NUFC will sign any one over 25 years old so that's Samba off the list too.

As I understand it, the reduced wage, 2 year contract would come into effect after his current contract ends in Summer 2012 so effectively he would have 3 years from the end of this season. He's 28 now (29 in September) so the new contract will end when he's 31 (3 months off 32). I wouldn't offer him a longer contract than that.

Getting his wages off the books would free up some money. I saw nothing wrong with how Lovenkrands played. He nearly scored a goal on a couple of occasions. He was stopped by a good save and a last ditch block from Bolton. It's a joke how many people on here seem to hate 50% of our players. Stop picking your favourites. Tiote and Enrique for example, hardly had their best games.

So do I. He's out for 3 games now thanks to his stupid tackle. If Barton and Guthrie are injured we need Ireland to get fit quickly, especially with Tiote one yellow off a 2 game suspension.

Most of the other results went in our favour so it's a damn shame we didn't win. Having said that, at least we didn't lose!

Bassong always seems to be giving away penalties. Williamson has turned out better for us than Bassong has for Tottenham. What a load of steaming bollocks. Bassong has been awesome when called upon but seems like he's having a mare tonight so far. A big reason why we made top 4 last season. If memory serves he gave away a penalty or two while he played at Newcastle. He also got sent off a couple of times. * * I expect the fact checkers to prove my memory wrong. If Bassong is so awesome how come he has to be "called upon"? If he's so awesome he should be in the starting 11. Come on Blackpool!!!!
