More like 'El Crapico'.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13201670.stm Sunderland are now top of the Injury league (although they should be joint top with Newcastle as the website doesn't list Guthrie as injured). http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php

Wayne Routledge signs 3 year deal with Swansea
LoveItIfWeBeatU replied to clintdempsey's topic in Football
The least amount of transfer fee NUFC should "demand" off QPR for Routledge is whatever they charged us to buy him off them in the first place. -
Wayne Routledge signs 3 year deal with Swansea
LoveItIfWeBeatU replied to clintdempsey's topic in Football
Routledge's contract with NUFC runs until June 2013 according to http://www.nufc.com/2010-11html/squad.html There would be no logic in giving him away. I'll believe it when it happens. -
Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season
LoveItIfWeBeatU replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
Good news that he has now scored twice because there is more chance NUFC will manage to sell him. The better he does, the more money NUFC should hopefully get for him. He's had 4 different managers (Pardew, Hughton, Kinnear and Shearer (Keegan left more or less as Xisco arrived)) and none of them ever wanted to give him a run in the side. -
Replacing Barton with this guy would be a travesty. If Barton won't sign a new contract I wouldn't have a problem with us signing Larsson as his replacement (although as others have said, he'd be Routledge's replacement). I thought the official punishment for a terrible Scholes tackle was a chuckle from the commentators and the comment "Typical Paul Scholes challenge!"

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
LoveItIfWeBeatU replied to Pilko's topic in Football
Carroll leaving killed my belief that players have any real loyalty to a club. If the local lad living his dream of being Newcastle's number 9 can leave any player can. Barton, Enrique, Nolan, etc. may all say they want to stay but I'll believe it when I see it. -
If you listen to Pardew's Radio Newcastle interview he says Routledge wanted games and Pardew allowed him to go because he wasn't in his plans and he had a replacement lined up.
-
Who is he? Must be Larsson ... The deal with Larsson was done and dusted (until Birmingham did a 'Newcastle selling Milner to Aston Villa' style recall) so it's very likely he's the replacement. I'd be happy with that. Sell Routledge (who isn't a proven Premier League quality player) for a few million and replace him with Larsson (who is a proven Premier League quality player) for free. Isn't Larsson too similar to Barton though? If I was buying someone who would play on the right quite a bit, I'd want someone I could bring on to offer something different, pace, directness etc. Unless Pardew is thinking playing Barton in the middle. That's why I don't understand why Routledge was loaned out. He gave us something different with his pace. I know he wasn't the most consistent, but it's something different than Barton and a better option than Guthrie. Pardew said in that Radio Newcastle interview the other week that Routledge was loaned out as he thought he'd got his replacement arranged (Larsson). Another lesson for NUFC in "don't sell or loan players out until you have actually replaced them".

NUFC would probably make an exception to the "only players under 26 years old" recruitment policy for players who wouldn't cost a transfer fee.

It says on nufc.com that "Joey Barton is one booking away from reaching ten yellows for the season." When is the cut off point for cards received leading to a 2 game suspension? Is the Man U game the last game before the cut off? I guess we can expect a 2 game suspension for Barton. I can't see him getting through a game against Man U without getting booked, be it a deserved booking or a victimised by the ref booking.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
LoveItIfWeBeatU replied to Pilko's topic in Football
At least he won't be getting his first Liverpool goal against us now. -
The team could really do with someone who can score goals from a free kick in a 'dangerous' area. We haven't had one since the days of Shearer, Robert and Solano. We also need to get some players with pace. Our current squad is more or less one paced.
-
How could Liverpool have agreed a deal for him? He is not allowed to talk to any other clubs as he still has over a year to run on his contract. If Newcastle have allowed him to talk to Liverpool that's different. If they haven't, report Liverpool for tapping up our player.

So if Shol'as not fit, Best is out for the rest of the season, we sold Carroll and Kuqi can last about 20 mins.. who starts instead of Nile ? Who says Kuqi can only last 20 minutes? Start with Kuqi and then replace him with Ranger (as with hindsight we should have done today). If half our strikers are injured I'd rather we had a 5 man midfield (when they return from suspension) than start Ranger.
