  1. Too risky to play him any more this season. Who knows who we'll play instead of him though!

  3. Sol Campbell (ankle) is injured too.
  4. You are perfectly demonstrating the Sunderland mentality: - We've got more injuries than Newcastle. Get in!
  5. Link? This isn't up to date: - http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php Newcastle currently have the following injured: - Hatem Ben Arfa, Leon Best, Dan Gosling, Danny Guthrie, Tamas Kadar, Kazenga LuaLua, Alan Smith, Mike Williamson, James Perch, Steven Ireland & Haris Vuckic.
  6. Perch isn't fit for this game either according to the Pardew interview here: - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13297670.stm

    Xisco

This threads subject title is very out of date! I really hope Deportivo buy Xisco. I see Deportivo La Coruna are flirting with relegation which probably won't help. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/spain_results/tables/default.stm
  8. Unfortunately we've taken a commanding lead over Sunderland in the injured player stakes (even though all you ever hear about is the amount of injuries Sunderland have got).
  9. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/05/05/mike-williamson-breaks-arm-in-freak-accident-72703-28640879/#ixzz1LVB9LheW Hopefully he'll return fully fit for pre-season.
  10. Except that wasn't true. NUFC had agreed a deal with Seb Larsson when Birmingham pulled the plug and called him back. It's why Routledge was allowed out on loan. Pardew said in the interview (when he was in the BBC Radio Newcastle studio) that a replacement had been sorted. Birmingham did to Larsson what NUFC did to Milner when he was off to Aston Villa.

  13. Look on the bright side, a fit Alan Smith will be easier to sell than an injured Alan Smith. I fully accept selling him would be a monumental achievement. Of the senior squad the following player's contracts all end in June 2012: - Enrique, Barton, Guthrie, Lovenkrands, Ameobi and Smith. I can't imagine Mike Ashley being happy to let any of them leave on a free if he has a chance to sell and the wanted players won't sign a new contract. The power is with the players though.
  14. Because scoring in the first 2 minutes against Birmingham in our 2 - 0 win away had no impact on the rest of the game did it? I forgot your 24 years of life made you the world authority on football and your opinion is always correct and cannot be questioned. That 1 point may make all the difference come the end of the season.
  15. Yes, I know you hate Lovenkrands but without the goals he scored we wouldn't be on 41 points.
  16. On the bright side, the squad might produce a 'reaction' to the Liverpool defeat and get a win. Lovenkrands usually plays OK against bottom half of the table teams.
  17. I some how doubt John Henry shared that information with Newcastle though.
  18. It doesn't hurt to have more than one option. Some people have said not to bother going for Larsson as Barton plays on the right. Well we need quality options and competition. I don't know how good Ben Arfa is at set pieces but we have no one else in the squad who can regularly hit the target with a free kick for example.
  19. Stoke were in the process of signing Ba but he failed the medical due to a problem with his knees. West Ham gambled on him. I can't see NUFC gambling on Ba if West Ham get relegated.
  20. 'True Faith' Carroll opinion piece: - http://www.true-faith.co.uk/tf/features.nsf/0/43C4DDBC00E85930802578810042B587?OpenDocument "Carroll isn’t the first bright young player to be sold by Ashley (Milner, N’Zogbia and Bassong) and he won’t be the last." Milner who most fans weren't bothered about and were happy to get £12m for him (fair enough, we wanted a replacement to be brought in which didn't happen). N'Zogbia who always looked miserable and was constantly saying Arsenal were interested in him? He left for Wigan because JFK mispronounced his name. Bassong who we bought from a relegated French side, we then got relegated and he went to Spurs. He recently said he wasn't getting enough game time at Spurs and may have to leave. I used to like reading the 'True Faith' website but it's a bit like reading 'The Socialist Worker' now. Non-football, political opinion appears in their articles. Have a separate politics website if you want to talk about politics. What were our fans singing at Carroll yesterday? I couldn't make it out on the TV.
  21. Larsson - He won't cost a transfer free, he scores the occasional goal, he is 25 (26 in June), he can take a decent set piece and he's another option for the right hand side of midfield. He almost signed for us in the Winter transfer window until Birmingham pulled the plug so he's obviously willing to come to NUFC. A decent player who will add quality to our thin squad.
  22. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/spain_results/default.stm Deportivo La Coruna lost 0-1 to Atletico Madrid so no goal for Xisco. Deportivo are 3 points off the drop zone and have played a game more than the teams in the bottom 3. It looks similar to the Premiership how close it is in the bottom half of the table. I see Barcelona and Real Madrid also lost!
  23. Subs: Steve Harper, James Perch, Steven Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Shane Ferguson, Nile Ranger, Shefki Kuqi http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20110501/liverpool-v-newcastle-magpies-unchanged-for-anfield-trip_2281670_2350719
