Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

This transcript of the members of parliament discussing NUFC and football just goes to show what a load of clowns most of them are. https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2019-01-24/debates/5942D7A8-4D98-46F8-877A-3CDC5FDB19C2/NewcastleUnitedFootballClubRegulation -

The "what a great job Mike Ashley is doing" lie all comes crashing down if we're relegated (again). How can they spin it any other way? Mike Ashley wants the fans to be grateful for all that he has supposedly done for NUFC but we're not. As we're so ungrateful maybe he should leave (sell) and go somewhere he would be appreciated (wherever that would be). -

It only seems to be NUFC where all monies earned by the club is viewed as the owner's personal cash by a lot of pundits. Do they do this for any other club? When Man U buy a player do they say "Thank the Glazer family"? When Liverpool buy a player do they say "Thank Fenway Sports Group"? -

Ashley's plan is hope to avoid relegation while spending as little money as possible. Pocket the TV money. If NUFC are relegated, sell some players and spend enough money to 'ensure' promotion. Rinse and repeat. He actually makes money with this plan. The problems this time are: - The Championship is becoming more and more competitive with clubs willing to spend big money to chase promotion. As Ashley doesn't sanction many transfers in there aren't many good players other clubs would want to buy off NUFC (Dubravka and some of the centre backs may be in demand). Rafa will leave and Ashley will have to find a manager to 'guarantee' promotion. The ground won't sell out in the Championship without the hope/project Rafa provided. Who will see the point of getting promoted back to the Premiership when the only plan is to pocket the cash until the next relegation? -

Hopefully Jake Humphrey will critise the way Mike Ashley runs NUFC again. If all those players are out injured Rafa will struggle to name enough players to make up the substitutes bench. -

It would be wonderful to see Ashley gone but this potential Kenyon deal doesn't excite me. I'd prefer it if it was someone like Jim Ratcliffe (the guy who supposedly offered £2bn for Chelsea). https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5822803/Britains-richest-man-offers-buy-Chelsea-Roman-Abramovich-2BILLION.html Beggars and choosers I suppose. -
A gym membership. Self improvement instead of self destruction. That's what I did. It cost me around 60% less too.

Absolutely no worse than anyone else. Agenda much? Find all the other posts where I've called him shit for the 'agenda' I supposedly have against him. He's been shit all this season and he was shit after coming on as a sub today. He's supposed to be a good player where as the majority of our other players are Championship level. Excuse me for thinking he should be above their standard.

Sky Sports News just called this game "the big one" and then led with the story of the match being "can OGS continue his winning run to match Sir Matt Busby?". It doesn't matter which team is at home, if you're not Liverpool, Man City, Man U, Arsenal or Tottenham you're just who they are playing. Anything other than a Man U win would mean Man U have failed.

Saw these free agents listed on the BBC: - Pepe Yaya Toure Robert Huth Younes Kaboul Guiseppe Rossi Full list of free agents: - https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/statistik/vertragslosespieler Their wages will be too much for Mike Ashley, they're finished or they'll not be up to Premiership standards.
