Same old story. More possession but no goals. Roeder must go. We are better when half the team is out injured than we are with the 'big' players back. I think Freddie will sack him. Injuries or not this is going to end up as our worst season based on points and goals scored alone. Allardyce will shift season tickets but Roeder certainly won't.

I'd sign Viduka. Sibierski has done better than expected for an emergency signing but he doesn't score many goals for a striker so I wouldn't offer him a new contract. I'd have Carroll as our 4th choice striker next season but if we signed Viduka I'd send Carroll out on loan (with the option to recall him).

I'm no defender of Roeder but comparing his substitution options with Mourihno's isn't a fair comparison. Look at Chelsea's bench compared to ours. Our bench this season was mainly kids and average squad players not internationals brought in for huge fees. Just about all the players on Chelsea's bench would make our starting 11.

Newcastle almost always try to put out the best 11 players (on paper) from the start. We rarely 'rest' our big guns so bringing that sort of quality on from the bench mid-match is rarely an option for us. Also, Ferguson only used Ronaldo because Everton were making a game of it. He could have ended up looking a fool for not starting Ronaldo in the first place if they'd lost. We need a bigger and better squad in order to have quality that can change a game sitting on the bench.

I saw Robert, Solano, Given, Jenas, Ameobi, Speed, Hughes, etc (basically most of the first team except for Shearer, Bellamy and Dyer) in 'Chase' on the Quayside a few years ago. Harper, Given, Shearer and Speed are often in The Diamond Inn, Ponteland. I saw a Bentley Continental GT driving up the street a few weeks ago in Gosforth. I looked at the driver and saw it was Shearer. The 'AS' private plate was a bit of a giveaway.

I had to laugh at his reaction to that Rooney goal. I hate all the Commentators. All they ever do is waffle on with a load of cliches, Bias and 'facts' that everyone already knows. I wish you could turn the Commentators off but still have the crowd noise.

Without searching through ICNewcastle to prove it, I am 100% sure that Shepherd has already confirmed that there is no "£X million" get out clause in Owen's contract. This was first said around the time we bought Owen. It was in answer to all the tabloid papers who kept saying there was a clause (because they were upset because we bought Owen).

The only reason I'd like Chelsea to win the title is because Man U would have thrown away a decent lead. I'd love that, just love it!

We can't expect Newcastle United to: - Win at home to clubs below us. Beat relegation troubled clubs. Beat clubs that are run on a fraction of our budget. Win at home to clubs who are in the league below us. Have a scouting network. Have a long term plan. Have qualifed coaches. Have a fully qualified manager. But we can expect more of the same.

Shepherd probably won't sack Roeder because he doesn't like to be seen as a Chairman who sacks managers. We've seen how he protests when the media accuse him of that. He'll do his usual trick - he'll allow Roeder to blow a load of money in a desperate gamble that won't come off. Unfortunately whatever happens to Roeder, Shepherd will be our chairman at the start of 2007-08.

It's worth mentioning that 'Bosman frees' aren't totally free. The players usually get a hefty signing on fee and huge wages on the account that the club did not have to pay a fee for them.

It's a disgrace that we haven't got a scouting network. It's no wonder we never get bargains (N'Zogbia being the one exception) and always end up spending £10 million on already established 'stars' from other clubs. Why didn't previous managers have this set up or did all their scouts go when they went? One thing you can say for Roeder is that at least he is trying to set up the things at the club most of us would have assumed were already in place!
