It would be great to be able to read that and believe every word. I'd have asked Charnley why there were no relegation clauses in the player contracts. That's why our wages and bonuses we're so high in the Championship. You'd think they'd have learned from the last time we were relegated. That mistake limited the budget for the season just gone and probably next season too.

If he's so rich and interested why didn't he just buy SAFC himself? If everything goes perfectly for them they're 2 years minimum from getting back to the Premiership.
-
So there are no rumours about where he's going to end up then?

So where's he going to next? Any rumours now his PSG contract is expiring (probably in June)?

Apparently we're all "rattled" by their takeover. They seem very confident everything is going to work out fine. Clear out all the squad players they don't want, get new players and manager, win promotion to the Championship, rebuild squad for a promotion push to the Premiership, etc. I'm sure that will be a silky smooth ride.

Martin Dúbravka (now playing for Burnley)

Transfer window opens Thursday 17th of May. Player contracts usually expire on the 30th of June. The World Cup begins on Thursday the 14th of June and runs until Sunday the 15th of July. 12 weeks to get transfer business done with the World Cup taking place in the middle. Transfer window closes on Thursday 9th of August. 2018/19 Premier League season is due to start on Saturday 11th August. -
I thought they couldn't afford to replace the seats when they were in the Premiership so how can they afford new seats now? Someone mentioned a free bar at the BBQ in that thread. Surely not? I doubt it would be cost effective and free alcohol would be a great combination with the safety of the unskilled fitting seats. 100 seats replaced, 700 free pints drank.

So the geniuses who run NUFC didn't put relegation clauses into player contracts so our players received their Premiership wages in the Championship. You'd think they'd have learned that lesson from the last time NUFC were relegated. Sounds like a big clear out of fringe players is planned to free up the wage bill and generate more transfer funds. Pretty much all the players loaned out bar Woodman will be available for sale. High earners like Mbemba who weren't even getting on the bench will also be sold where possible.

Strange when Claude Puel's job was supposed to be in doubt. This signing implies he'll be staying. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44186203

Rafa doesn't have to sign anything. He has a year to go on his contract. He could wait to see what happens in the transfer window. If he doesn't get what he wants he could leave next Summer when his contract ends.

I can't imagine a scenario where NUFC don't sign Dubravka. He will cost £4m. His loan period has made him worth at least double that. That's guaranteed profit if he was then sold on.

Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

Apparently Sels was on the highest wages in Belgium football last season due to the wages he got from NUFC. I really don't understand why NUFC would have been offering new players Premier League wages when we were in the Championship. I don't see why NUFC would have had to offer Premiership wages to players who'd never played in the Premiership before. Apparently Gayle and Ritchie signed for Premiership wages which you can understand as they were at Premiership clubs and we're taking a step down. -

Very frustrating that the BBC and other media just publish the figures as the story and do no journalism work like actually questioning the figures or have an accountant comment. -

Always like it when they spin Mike Ashley funding our Championship promotion campaigns as if he's doing us a favour. It's like being grateful to the person who punched all your teeth out for paying your dentist bill. -
Portsmouth have won things and is a better place to live. I was going for the League 1 club hating a Premiership club angle.
