Can someone with the ability change the poll to keep or sell? There's talk of Lyon being interested in buying him for around £15m. I'd sell him.

After the last 'friendlies' against Celtic and Rangers I hope NUFC never play a game against them again. Their fans treat trips to England as if they are a raiding party. Absolute scum. As soon as we saw Sunderland were playing Celtic we all knew (including the Police) that there would be trouble. Well done for inviting them SAFC. I hope you enjoyed the bumper crowd of away supporters.

Been a while since we sold £40k+ season tickets mind Did we ever sell £40k+ season tickets? Seems a bit expensive.

Everything doesn't have to be a conspiracy theory. Rafa obviously rates our other keepers higher. Krul was playing poorly before he got injured two seasons ago. I doubt he's improved after being out injured for a season and then only getting half a season of starts in the Dutch league. You can't have 4 goalkeepers training with the main squad. Thanks for the good times Tim but I don't feel sorry for him. He's on good wages. There's no room for sentiment and quite right too.

Not wanting to go all RTG but that is complete rubbish. Many of Newcastle's longest and most loyal fans are from County Durham and parts of the county, particularly NW Durham, are as black and white as anywhere on Tyneside or Northumberland. Totally agree with this NW Durham contains thousands of totally loyal Newcastle fans that have been fans for generations and unfortunatly an awful lot of Gremlins. I said: - He could be a die hard Newcastle fan or he might not be.

Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press
LoveItIfWeBeatU replied to Kaizero's topic in Football
Well they just signed Morata I meant as well as Morata. They currently list their strikers as Michy Batshuayi, Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata. If Costa leaves they'll need a replacement. We need Chelsea to have 3 strikers not including Batshuayi to have a chance of him going on loan. -

Batshuayi is the sort of player I hope we can get on loan but it probably wouldn't happen until the end of the transfer window. Chelsea will be looking to buy another striker before they think of loaning out Batshuayi. Maybe even another two strikers if Costa is leaving. -

Agree but a lot of teams just sat back and hit us on the break in the Championship. Apparently Rafa prefers his teams to be counter attacking teams. We didn't get to do that much in the Championship. Not many teams are going to sit back against NUFC in the Premiership. Time will tell if this squad can cope with being attacked better than they could breaking stubborn teams down. -
Off the back of this article: - https://www.themag.co.uk/2017/07/rafa-benitez-admits-preston-match-needs-get-rid-least-6-players-newcastle-united/ "Premier League rules dictate at the end of the transfer window you have to name 25 senior players" Goalkeepers: Tim Krul, Freddie Woodman (U21), Karl Darlow, Rob Elliott Current situation seems to be Rafa wants to: - Keep: Rob Elliot. Loan out: Woodman? Sell: Darlow and Krul. Defenders: Paul Dummett, Achraaf Lazaar, Massadio Haidara, Jamaal Lascelles, Grant Hanley, Ciaran Clark, Chancel Mbemba, Florian Lejeune, DeAndre Yedlin, Jesus Gamez, Jamie Sterry, Javier Manquillo Rafa wants to: - Keep: Dummett, Lascelles, Clark, Lejeune, Yedlin and Manquillo. Loan out: Sterry? Unknown? Maybe sell if the right offer comes in and a replacement brought in: Mbemba and Gamez. Sell: Lazaar, Haidara and Hanley. Midfielders: Henri Saivet, Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, Jack Colback, Rolando Aarons, Matt Ritchie, Christian Atsu, Ayoze Perez, Mo Diame, Siem De Jong, Jacob Murphy Rafa wants to: - Keep: Shelvey, Hayden, Ritchie, Atsu, Perez and Murphy. Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press

Certs for relegation in my eyes At the end of last season 8 points separated 8th and 17th in the Premiership. I'd say the top clubs of the Championship aren't much difference in squad quality to the bottom 8 or so teams of the Premiership. A lot of players are loaned out near the end of the transfer window. Our squad could look very different by the end of the window. Newcastle at worst only have to stay ahead of Huddersfield, Brighton and one other team. Hopefully we'll be able to aim our sights higher than that though. -
He's from County Durham so he might not be as attached to the idea of playing for Newcastle as most of us would be. The fact that Everton are willing to pay £6m+ for him tells him they are very serious about him and that will be a huge boost to his confidence. He's bound to go where the money is. He's 16 and his salary and the career plan Everton have for him are like winning the lottery.

It's quite clear that Rafa doesn't want Krul. He's only got a year left on his contract. I'd imagine a Dutch club could afford to buy him as I doubt he'd cost more than a couple of million pounds. Hanley was bought for around £5m and that fee is well within reach of Championship clubs these days. We should be able to find a buyer for him. Which Italian team did NUFC beat to the signing of Lazaar? Maybe they're still interested in him, if not another Italian team might be. Wages are the problem when it comes to selling players to non-English teams. There would probably be buyers for more of our surplus to requirements foreign players if they weren't on double other leagues wages. Haidara and Saivet fall into this category. I doubt any club would pay a transfer fee for Riviere. We'll be lucky if we can get a club to loan him and contribute to his wages.

Official: Yoan Gouffran signs new contract with Goztepe
LoveItIfWeBeatU replied to Tooj's topic in Football
Being that Gouffran was out of contract, no NUFC didn't receive a transfer fee from Goztepe. -
If the reported wages are true, why were NUFC giving out £45K a week wages to new signings in the Championship? It's not like NUFC would have had to twist Championship players arms to leave the likes of Blackburn to come to NUFC. He won't have been getting wages anywhere near £45K a week at Blackburn.

I think Ben Arfa fails Rafa's personality and good professional test. Interesting to see where he ends up next and how long he lasts there (unless he refuses to leave PSG).

Not really. If they're at risk of going down for example, they may cut their losses on the loan penalties to try and survive in the league. I meant for the first quarter or half a season. Swansea wouldn't keep starting him regardless if it was a threat to their Premiership status, no matter what Chelsea wanted to charge them for breaking the loan rules. I doubt he'll consistently play poorly anyway so it will be hard to tell. Also, I have no idea who Swansea's other striking options are.
-
If Tammy Abraham plays poorly but keeps starting for Swansea we'll know it's in the loan contract for him to get a certain number of starts.

Bradley Lowery's funeral was on Friday. Change the thread title back to "sunderland"?

It was mentioned at work (I won't mention the company) that the Phantom Shitter guy works on a site in Gosforth. The people who work on that site recognised his picture straight away as he's worked there for a good number of years. He is a Mackem. He was marched off site yesterday so I presume the police have spoken to him now. He works for the canteen catering company.
-
I don't agree with going to funerals of people you've never met.

I've been to a young child's funeral (a friend's son). I certainly wouldn't have been there if I hadn't know them. It was very tough (but nothing compared to how it was for the parents). I wonder why anyone would go to the funeral of a child they didn't know.
