  1. The earliest he'll be back at the training ground is a couple of weeks after France leave or Win Euro 2016. That's plenty of time to demand a higher fee for him without him even setting foot in Newcastle.
  2. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-transfers-magpies-told-11557685 Liverpool £12m bid for Sissoko. If that is true I'd hold out for a lot more.
  3. Easier said than done. They're all on Premiership wages. They'd all be taking a significant pay cut if they leave. Not many of them seem too bothered about a lack of playing time.
  4. In one of the many stories we've read about Rafa one said he has a database of 17,000+ players and a lot of football contacts. He also watches a lot of football. I'm certain he'll know a lot about the players we've signed.
  5. I hope he doesn't get a single penny pay off out of NUFC. He signed a new contract last Summer. If he wants to leave now and NUFC are happy for him to leave too he can leave on a free. NUFC charge no transfer fee and Colo claims no loyalty payment. That would be fair. Paying him to leave would be a joke. I agree but maybe Rafa realises that his presence is more damaging than losing out on a couple of quid as in theory, Colo was gone the minute Rafa came in. The only other unknown issue is this one year extension, did it come at a lower wage. If so, what has been reported as anywhere between a basic £60k - £80k a week may have been lowered to £40k - £60k. This then would mean he has a guaranteed wedge of anywhere between £2m - £4m in potential earnings to come. A negotiated pay off which would mean Colo gets his ambition to go home earlier than expected must surely have been done here unless Mike or Lee has threatened to let the biggest non-secret out the closet and made him forcefully agree to something else. We'll never know the details of the deal unless NUFC announce they got a fee for Colo from his new club.

  7. They'll all be bang on form when the new season starts.
  8. That spray must be powerful to be able to get through a sock, shin pad and football boot.
  9. With the fall of the Pound against the Euro the cost of buying players from Europe has just gone up.
  10. I'm not fully up to speed on the merits of Sevilla FC over OGC Nice so I asked a genuine question. Is that so bad?
  11. That was Sevilla not Nice. Boo hoo, I don't have encyclopedic knowledge of all football leagues. Who gives a fuck? Not me. I have a life.
  12. France: - Paris Saint-Germain then no idea what order the rest usually come in. Spain: - Barcelona Real Madrid Atlético Madrid then no idea what order the rest usually come in. I don't care who finishes where in these leagues. I've looked it up and I see Nice finished 4th and Sevilla finished 7th.
  13. Bit of a come down from the rumored Barcelona and PSG. Is Sevilla much different in 'stature' to Nice?
  14. A lot of them don't even cover their faces. Don't the authorities usually video the trouble makers and then stick the 'Do you know these people' photos on Interpol or wherever for people to identify them?
  15. I wonder why the law seems different during football tournaments? If in England someone threw a bottle or chair at someone and marauded around chinning people they'd be arrested, locked up and charged. The same would happen in most countries. During football tournaments the punishment seems to be deportation at worst. It's not as if the authorities haven't got plenty of evidence. Some perpetrators upload the evidence to their own websites.
  16. I'd be surprised if we don't enjoy our season a lot more than they enjoy their season.
  17. FIFA/UEFA should organise a hooligan tournament. A knockout format where each country's hooligans/ultras fight it out to the death. None of the throw a chair and then run off nonsense. If nothing else it would help thin out the ranks of these morons.
  18. Would Sissoko be a massive player for us in the Championship? Of course he would be but only if he wanted to stay. A huffy Sissoko retained against his wishes isn't going to be good for his or team morale. If we hadn't been relegated he'd probably still have been pushing for a transfer. I'd expect Rafa to say he wanted to keep Sissoko even if he didn't want to keep him. Saying he can leave lowers his transfer fee. We want the maximum fee possible so be an unwilling seller.
  19. Assuming he doesn't leave the club in the transfer window, Mbemba will be away for up to 2 months of the season so NUFC better get some decent cover for him. 46 games (not including cup games) and currently the only senior centre backs are Coloccini (Leaving?), Mbemba and Lascelles.
  20. I hope he does well at the Euros therefore increasing the amount other clubs are willing to pay for him. Rafa can then hopefully use the money on players who want to play for us.
  21. No. It has been reported everywhere that he got offered a 1 year (heavily incentivised) contract.
