I'd have been relatively happy with Gomis on a free last Summer (as it didn't look like we'd be shopping at the top end of the market). I'm not a fan of paying £7m for him now. I'd rather gamble on Doumbia.

Nope, for me he was too attacking minded and not defensive enough. A good wing-back I guess but we need a left back that defends. Santon was attack minded without ever really scoring or creating much. For comparison, Sunderland's left back Patrick van Aanholt has scored in each of his last four games.

Not surprising. It's not like they get much enjoyment elsewhere. Scoring 6 goals is a big deal for Sunderland (as it would be for us). It's not like they score many goals in real fixtures. They don't often keep clean sheets either. We give other teams false hope. They beat us and then think they're pretty good until they come up against another team who proceed to knock them on their arse.

Pardew's main tactic is launching the ball up to a striker so signing a relatively tall, strong striker like Adebayor will probably work. Adebayor has been signed until the end of the season so that will motivate him to put the effort in to try to win a longer contract there or somewhere else. If Adebayor gets that longer contract he'll take his foot off the gas again.

Remy will want to get into the French squad for the Euros so I think he'll be applying himself where ever he goes. He won't want to sit on Chelsea's bench.

It's probably cheaper to buy any one else we are after now rather than in the Summer. That new Premiership TV deal is going to inflate transfer fees.

Exactly. It would work out as less costly to NUFC to spend £100m (maybe more) this year to ensure (as best as you can) we stay in the Premiership than it would be to get relegated. The new Premiership TV deal makes relegation a total disaster money wise.

Most teams have managed to have a run of a few decent results in a row. We haven't. At least if we get relegated we should win more games than we lose in the Championship. It would be nice to win a few games and score some goals again.

If we had strikers who could finish we'd have won. Count up all that chances we fluffed.

It annoys me when people use words like "brilliant" to describe him.
