Feels weird that we have nicked a highly regarded Executive from another football club. Got a lot of faith in him to take us forward. Whilst it was weird employing a head coach before a Sporting Director, I think him and Eddie will work perfectly together.

Maybe creative was the wrong word to use. I do hear some great efforts at new chants, away games in the pub or on the bus are full of them. However, nothing that isn’t simple catches on amongst the wider fanbase. You hear some of the Liverpool or Man Utd efforts, everyone is getting involved with them, but that doesn’t happen with us. The only songs you ever hear go round all of SJP are the older ones that we’ve had for years. Our fanbase can’t even get the words to Blaydon Races right! However, as I said creative was the wrong word. Our home support has been immense since the takeover and Wor Flags have been more creative than any fan group with similar intentions in the UK. In fact they have inspired Everton and the Mackems, and probably more (although they’ll never admit that), and we should be proud of the cauldron of noise SJP has become.

Sadly we both know that the chant he will get is Hugo Hugo Hugo. Least creative fanbase gan.

Fucking ridiculous how you are limited as to what income you can bring in through sponsorships, but owners are allowed to “buy” a club with high interest loans, which are then a liability to the club. Backwards but I suppose not surprising.

Wonder if they’ve been told but to keep it under wraps due to potential contractual issues with Fun88.

I think if the deal had hit a stumbling block, the likes of Hope would know about it by now, similar to the Emery situation. IIRC we always took a bit of time to announce players in Jan too.

Re our budget, I was listening to the Pod on the Tyne episode with Shearer on, which was recorded just last week. Caulkin says that the club have said Ashworth will arrive in November. Goes to show that not everything they’re briefing out (even to blue eyed George) is accurate!

I can’t see it not being Fun88 if it’s being released tomorrow sadly.

The Fun88 logo doesn’t look like it does on our current kits on that photo though, which makes me think it’s a fake. On the other hand, Castore have said they’re going to release our kit soon, and the Fun88 deal runs until the end of June. Why would they release a new shirt now, with a nee sponsor on? Unsure if this has been said (CBA looking back)
