Something that Rafa said around the time of the Sheff Wed/Blackburn game stuck in my mind..."we need to learn how to draw", them points against Bristol City and Norwich were huge, even if we did shoot ourselves in the foot big time, and as disappointing as the Bristol City game was, I think the confidence we got from coming back was massive and probably led to the result at Brighton.

I think Villa will win it next season. Settled team with a Summer under their belts and a half decent manager at this leve under Steve Bruce. Leeds, Reading, Huddersfield, us, Brighton, Norwich, Sheff Wed...the ones that don't go up out of those will be up there too. Actually rate Fulham too tbh.

This 100%. Embarrassing watching people throw their toys out of the pram when we lose. Our team isn't as good as the media make out and the job Rafa has done to turn our club from what Sunderland are now to a club that looks like it could have a good future and a good connection with the fans again is superb. Look at Villa to see that spending money doesn't = success.

If you read their forum their fans are massively confident. I would be looking forward to the game if Gayle was fully fit. Mitrovic is fucking awful in every sense of the word. Got no faith in Darlow either, his mistakes have cost us 6 points and made Selz' mistakes look like nothing. Only downside is the alternatives are poor.

Think we will lose comfortably. They don't concede many goals at home and without Gayle I can't see where ours will come from as Mitro is fucking awful.

That's the points total people are saying 3rd place won't achieve given the history of the league, which is where the 6 wins comes from. Well fingers crossed you're right. Would be nice if we could go into them three tough away games with a bit of a cushion so a win and dropped points for Brighton and Hudds would be nice on Saturday.

Don't get This "only need 6 wins if we beat Huddersfield. At the form they're on if we only won 6 we would come 3rd.

Craig Hope wrote it which is a big positive. Just hope we go up really, it is vital for the long term future of the club imo. Not going up would be disastrous as we would lose the best thing that's happened to us for ages.
