  1. Baffling isn't it, not only would it make no sense at all for Ashley to sell players, but any potential buyer wouldn't stand for it either. Your talking about Ashley here though, he thinks to make life easier for the next lot taking over we should not have a full time manager in charge. So selling a keeper who is on big bucks when we have Stevie Harper + a host of goalkeepers who have been picked at various age groups for there country may make sense to him on some level. He's not a moron despite what alot of people like to think, and personally i think having an interim manager makes perfect sense as the news guys will want to bring in their own manager, it saves them having to pay-off whoever has the job. It actually makes perfect sense from Ashley's point of view to not appoint a permanent manager, considering that he had to go through a lot of trouble because his predecessor left him saddled with Big Sam.
  2. Owen never really felt like "our player" to me. It's always been as if we've borrowed him and are due to send him back somewhere soon. Never seemed quite right seeing him in Black and White stripes. As much as he offers the team, I don't think I'll be too gutted when he leaves. (Personally, I think he'll see out his contract for us.)
  3. Apart from when they play lower league opposition. I meant just in the league, but tbf I didnt say that. I know and agree, just making a point. Aye, they're so amazingly good. And we get to experience them first hand next week! Joy.
  4. NUFC is genuinely the worst relationship I've ever gotten myself into.
  5. I'd absolutely have him here. Then again, I'd have Roeder back in a shot if it meant some stability, so my standards aren't exactly the highest right now.
  6. In some ways the relegation system is a blessing. I probably wouldn't even be watching anymore if we weren't in mortal danger.
  7. If Xisco was the one doing what Ameobi's doing for us right now, he'd be as loved as Jonas. Shola gets so much stick for... well.. being Shola.
  8. Great. Fantastic. They can set up a goal. That'll make us a driving force. One f***ing goal. The thing is they may do one or two things, but it doesn't contribute to the game as a whole. Every time they get the ball, it pretty much ends with a "Duff runs around in circles, and loses the ball" or a "Ameobi...gives the ball away/fouls his man/heads the ball to the keeper". Everyone is going to have a decent spell/moment in a game, but it doesn't make them a good player. Fair enough, it's harsh to criticise for their contribution to the goals, but Jonas and Owen would no doubt have done the same in their positions. I agree that they're both squad players in an ideal world, but given the sorry state I'm in I think the agenda people have against them is misguided given they're contributions. Besides, the bit about Ameobi is just blatantly false. I know it's just Shola, but take off your shit-tinted glasses and look at what he's been doing for us lately.
  9. what I really want to know is what Kinnear says to the lads at halftime to make them play better, and why he can't just say it before the match.
  10. You've got it all wrong. The club will be sold, and then the owners will fall out with the manager by next season, declare us unmanagable, and strip us for assets and get us relegated to the Championship. Newcastle United never implodes the simple way.
  11. As pretty as Jonas makes it all look, Duff was contributing more today. Given that Kinnear is sitting there on the pitch watching these players, and that he's an actual football manager which all of us or not, I'm willing to trust his decision on the subs. Duff and Ameobi set up the equalizer for Owen. Bit harsh to single them out for criticism.
  12. Mike Ashley, Please sell the god damn club. Thanks.
  13. no doubt West Brom will grab a win tomorrow just to keep it interesting.
  14. well, thanks to the point at least we wont' be cut adrift by the inevitable 6-0 beating we'll get at Chelsea.
  15. I don't see how anyone who's been watching this game from start to finish could remain sane and rational.
  16. have to say that's the most cathartic goal I've seen in a while.
