Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

Bournemouth and Brighton are bankrolled by their owners. are they? i know bournemouth make the odd big signing but they're hardly throwing money about...brighton have blown a lot since coming up but it's something like £100m over 2 seasons when TV money comes in at +£100m per season would just find it an interesting comparison -
he's fuck all like dyer i'm afraid, he knows how to move off the ball for start, everything dyer did was with the ball at his feet he had nothing else to his game
-
no chance, if rafa leaves and we're in turmoil again could see an everton/west ham/watford coming in for him as they'll have the money to turn ashley's head but he'll not get a move above that level and no one abroad will pay for him

out of interest is there club you could roughly equate us to in the PL in terms of not having an owner injecting cash in? bournemouth, brighton, cardiff maybe? just wondering what the comparison in spends would be for clubs relying solely on TV and commercial income vs ours because that is what the media should arguably be calling out if ashley is going to set the rules of the game then he should be hold to account by them -
i think when you consider the longevity and extent of his domestic dominance plus european successes he's gotsta be considered the greatest of all time? and i fucken hated the ground he walked on
-
First reply nails it. both things appear to be true though, solksjaer out of his depth and woodward shite
-
i do think ashley must be conscious of what happens in the wider sphere if rafa walks with the club swimming in PL money personally, if the media were ever going to backlash against him it'll be over this because rafa has done everything right and succeeded against the odds
-
hm hadn't actually thought of it in those terms before but if it's the case ashley will call his bluff 100%
-
yeah that
-
why?

Brighton or Palace imo few teams might be having a look imo; watford, west ham, southampton
-
He’s an average midfielder on a good run of form. Similar to Diame last year. difference being he's 24 and has every chance to improve as he goes on
-
been massively impressed with ritchie these last few games, he's been major in us being comfortable the last few games but if he leaves and we get a left back suited to play with almiron he'll start impacting games more directly, no doubt about it ritchie just doesn't look for his runs at the right time and doesn't play the ball into the right space for him when he does spot him pretty surprised rafa didn't swap him and perez to see if schar could pick him out better but then you risk losing what perez has been bringing i guess :/
-
2 points off west ham man
-
very poor harsh imo, but didn't use the ball as well as he can
-
been a new player since almiron came in, almost like rafa knew not just his goals mind; all round touch, movement, awareness etc. seems to have improved so much hunger in the run for that 2nd goal as well

ward-prowse bottom corner
-
that TV ref never contradicts the match ref does he? absolute wanker
-
i also don't think kane will continue at a great rate if spurs go to shit if/when poch leaves...none of which might happen of course but that's the most remarkable thing about shearer's record - that he scored what he did after coming to us and playing in absolute shite teams for years on end
-
will get flogged to west, Leicester or everton for daft money soon i reckon maybe partex for rice at WH
-
gayle and mitro with the right manager would tear that league to fucken bits

I agree in principle as I'd love Rafa to call them out publicly because that'd get Ashley's blood boiling. That tactic is counter productive however if Rafa wants a future here. If Rafa speaks out now, the more likely it'll be that Ashley will let his contract run down just to spite him. Rafa can't win this battle. He either accepts no ambition or leaves. i think he played the leicester post-game stuff perfectly and could just do more of the same tbh, the closer we get to him leaving the more antsy fans are gonna get (until he's gone of course and they have the summer of then come back like nowt happened)
