The onus is on the prosecution, not the defendant. I've stated that 9 out of 10 US owners in English football aren't bad. So far only Boehly and his all-star wish has been brought up as something bad a US owner has done. I've shown examples of bad things non-US owners has done, and could show more. Meanwhile, your argument is that "they have a different culture than us, therefore they are bad!" Without showing any examples of that having an effect on actual real ownership of an English football club. You are basing your argument on a stereotype and saying all US owners are bad because they are American. Not because they are bad owners, or using any example other than them being Americans as an example for why they would be bad owners.

racism /ΛreΙͺsΙͺz(Ι)m/ noun prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial, national or ethnic group
-
PL has only had one ownership group of my nationality, and they fucked up Wimbledon FC so much the club no longer exists
-
I'm not American, the fuck are you even on about?
-
Nope, it has to do with preconceived stereotypical views of certain people. In other words, good old fashioned racism. Again, the most fucked up weird destructive owners in Premier League history has been British. All it does is make it harder to make actual arguments against poor ownership when non-constructive insults gets thrown around without merit. Imagine if our biggest argument against Ashley was that "he's English, he doesn't understand football"?

Shit owners = Shit owners Nationality has nothing to do with it. There are great US owners, there are ok US owners and there are shit US owners. Just as there are great, ok and shit owners of other nationalities β including English owners.
-
This actually touches upon another interesting aspect, who seems the craziest out of the Glazers and Ratcliffe?
-
You've shown one crazy/weird suggestion from a US owner, I've shown three from non-US owners and could continue ad infinitum. My point stands.
-
Then they have problems with their owners, their nationality has no part in it. They'll have shit owners that are shit, just like any other club that's had shit owners that were shit because they were shit owners - not because of what country they were from. "Sports Direct @ St. James Park" What should Newcastle have done about their UK owner if they had any bother with him? ^ Singlig a shit owner out due to them having X nationality only serve to make it harder to oust them. They're shit owners because they're shit, so the focus should be on what shit they do as owners - not where they're from.
-
"US owners ruin English football!!"
-
"Booo all US owners!!"
-
Kroenke is the only US based owner that's had out there opinions of Yank owners in the PL era as far as I can tell.
-
It absolutely is when there's no evidence for any of the claims being made, but there's evidence of UK based owners actually wanting to fuck up football.
-
The Yank hatred is idiotic given that 90% of all crazy/weird suggestions have come from non-American owners.

"If the fans of Manchester United are to correctly claim they're fans of a "big" club, their club needs to stop letting "small" clubs like Bournemouth piss all over them! People kept saying Newcastle United wasn't a "big" club for ages even though they sold out their 50k+ stadium week in, week out β it's a blatant double standard if we're to still consider Man Utd a big club just because they fill their stadium every other week. They're not a rich club anymore, they have no iconic players anymore, they don't challenge for honors anymore and it's not looking very likely they'll be able to challenge for any honors again in the near future. The Manchester United of today is a mediocre club, at best, and everyone needs to stop pretending otherwise. Last season, pretty much a year ago, Man Utd lost 0-3 to Bournemouth at Old Trafford. They played 2-2 in the reverse, meaning Bournemouth took 4 out of 6 points from them last season. We as pundits are doing a great disservice to the other clubs in the league when we, for some reason, keep referring to Man Utd as favorites ahead of matches they have no right to be considered favorites for. Bournemouth came into this match unbeaten in four and the 4th highest team in the last 10 games form table. Their average point tally the past ten seasons is 68, which would've only seen them finish top four three times by the skin of their teeth in that time. This is not a "big" club. In the past ten seasons they've been an upper mid-table club that's turned into a mid-table club. It's time to face reality, they're not very good." Love Norwegian pundits (quite paraphrased due to having to translate something that was said verbally, but think the main points are intact)

I mean, seems like fatherhood has calmed down the butcherin' instinct in you, @The Butcher Horrible, dogawful even, officiating β but old Butcher's take on that would've been:

As I understood their presentation (don't take my word gospel, only skimmed through it π ) it's essentially still that, except now there's more teams playing in the meaningless divisions below the "Super League" division. I find it baffling how some people genuinely can be so fucking out of touch with the rest of the world, let alone their customers
-
They're not proposing a super league this time, they're proposing an "improved" replacement for the Champions, Europa and Conference League(s). No longer will they be ran by UEFA, instead they will be ran by UEFA β AND β A22... Who it's "improved" for, however, is anyone's guess. Based on skimreading the full proposal (https://a22sports.com/download_file/view/12c5626f-8625-4597-b4c4-539f43839e45/) it does appear to improve things for the exact clubs that wanted a Super League, whilst doing nothing to improve things for any clubs not playing in the top division of the tournament, the "Star League" Essentially they have just included the Europa League and Conference League into a bid to redesign the Champions League into their Super League, it's dumb and it will fail.

Boycotting the matches against Israel in the WC Qualifiers, if FIFA do not ban them, has been getting more and more traction in Norway in the last couple of days. First move by the FA will be to push members of FIFA into banning Israel like they banned Russia. If that doesn't work, Norwegian clubs will vote for the Norwegian FA to have to boycott the matches. Looking like we're not going to the next WC either, by our own choice... Norway absolutely hates qualifying for international tournaments, apparently Have to say that one of the headlines I've seen recently actually got me kinda onboard with the idea of a boycott, though; Can we really play Israel while their bombs fall over Gaza? The only answer is; "No". Ah well, not like we stand a chance qualifying anyway as long as Solbakken remains manager, might as well try to do something political

Tried finding some speed measurements to see how much his confidence holds up, it did Based on the little available info I could find, given that the PL for instance didn't start tracking km/h top speed statistics before the 21/22 season β his average pace, based from recorded pre-season 100m dashes at Inter Milan and NUFC, would be somewhere between 36km/h and 38km/h. If we were to do as the question posed to Martins says and judge "Prime Obafemi Martins", a speed of 38km/h would make him the fastest PL player today by 0.4km/h Loved Martins, also love that his son (also a footballer, playing for Monza in the Serie A) was named "Kevin" and goes by the nickname "King Kev Adding to that already fun fact, his uncle is none other than this guy:

Had a bit of a rant-off with Mike in the Other Games Today thread on Saturday, then I saw this thread now and thought it would fit this one better So, yeah... here the most pundit-related posts of that rant-off:

In general I tend to feel that our pundits are shit, but I know they're probably some of the better ones in the world It shouldn't be that way, though, which is why I'm fairly reluctant to heap praise upon our pundits. Very, very few of our pundits are ex-players or have personal experience playing in the PL for instance. If networks bring in an "expert", it'll 9 out of 10 times be either an active manager/coach or a retired one. Whenever someone like John Arne Riise has been a guest "expert", the other pundits just spend all the time on air pointing out the lack of logical reasoning in Riise's commentary, and then having to explain why Riise is wrong about whatever he said. Some of our best pundits are women, with Renate Blindheim being one of the best pundits in the country this season. She was the first woman in Norway to be appointed Manager of a professional men's team (at 26, she was also the youngest person regardless of gender). The appointment made headlines for weeks and had people talking about how an all male football team would react to having a manager that "shouldn't be allowed" to enter the locker room. It became perceived as a PR stunt by the general public as no matter how she performed, the team she'd taken over had already been predicted to get relegated by a landslide regardless of whether or not their manager had a testicles or not. She then proceeded to start her time there with seven straight league wins and almost getting the, on paper, worst team in the top three divisions promoted Needless to say, that woman fucking knows her football. Bit of a side-tangent I went off on there, but the tl;dr of it all is that I think the biggest issues when it comes to shit pundits in both the UK and the US stems from continually turning ex-players into pundits, when ex-players for some reason has a bit of a tendency to actually not know anything at all about football

When we qualified for the CL there were no headlines, no shocked pundits anywhere. Our current shit season is making headlines outside the UK and have pundits discussing if the owners are right sticking by Howe when Man Utd sacked their manager for performing at the same level we were. My post was aimed at why the UK isn't doing what pundits outside the UK is doing, ending with me concluding that the only explanation had to be that Howe's English - and UK pundits never attack their own, so we're just not being brought up because of the fact that if we got brought up, they'd have to criticize Howe.

I mean, I felt I covered that quite well in my post - but apparently I couldn't have given this response We know. They don't. We don't decide what others think of us, and others see owners with a combined net worth higher than the other 19 PL team owners, combined! Of course people that don't follow us in as much detail as we do will have preconceived expectations and opinions about us based on nothing but headlines.
