Feel like this needs posting: https://www.themag.co.uk/2018/05/real-newcastle-united-fans-forum-minutes-work-genius-must-read/

Not really understanding why our players are already mentally on holiday (as it seems they are) given that there might be a decent sized upheaval in places this summer and you'd think they'd do their best to make their case for their position not needing to be upgraded.

"For me he has to do better in that situation." Slayed me

Got Ronaldo and Suker. -
Can they take Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal back so they can be replaced with actual US teams?

I mean, I'm fairly certain Krul is better than Elliot - so in that sense it weakened us. Wouldn't want him as a starter though, but a better back-up than Elliot. He's not though. You'd honestly start Rob Elliot over Tim Krul if you had a choice between only those two?

I'm gonna like Juventus from now on because of Sewelly.

A supporter of the club Denizlispor was banned from the stadium, so he did the only thing any sensible man would do...

Almost as if they'd been thrown down the divisions to rot whilst Celtic got to run rampage unopposed in a weak as piss league swallowing up all the decent talent in Scotland as well as being the only Scottish club left with money to buy good players.

Not been convinced by him so far, nor convinced by his time at Leicester. Think we should aim for better. If we can afford/get better is another question entirely.

Really want West Ham down. Didn't realize how much in it they actually still are. Holy fuck, seeing Moyes relegated

That's where the hope lies for Huddersfield - at home on the last day against an Arsenal side with a terrible away record, think if they need to win that one they will. Potentially Wenger's last match as Arsenal manager if they fuck up in the EL semis. If that happens, Huddersfield are gonna get fucked so hard they can't walk for weeks.

I like pacy wingbacks so Dummet would be the first one in the defensive line I'd upgrade on, but Yedlin is a very close second as essentially all he's got is pace. But I fucking love pace.

I'd cash out.

According to fivethirtyeight and their stat crunchers, our defensive unit is the 6th best in the Premier League so far this season and our attacking unit is the 16th best Based on stuff like tackles, clearances, pass completion, shots on target, shots taken at best opportunity and o forth. Tons of stats. Interesting if you're into shit like that.

It's not being moved as much as the Jacksonville Jaguars will cease to exist and everything about the team changes until it's called the London Bulldogs or some shit.

"Sotirios Kyrgiakos (Wolfsburg, loan): Defender made three appearances. 4/10" I mean, what? He played three times out of thirty eight, let's give him 4/10. Useful signing.

yet people still wonder why Rafa doesnt trust him People aren't wondering that. They're saying Rafa should've played him over Joselu.

So it's how the rules are enforced and who by? It's an argument against people saying adding VAR at the top level changes the sport since "it's the same on all levels of the game". Which it really isn't. The rules are the same throughout, how they're applied is vastly different - from no ref on the playground to extra refs in certain competitions. VAR being used to enforce rules at the highest level doesn't change football as a game being the same for everyone no matter where you play it (if you follow the rules of the game), you just get better enforcing of the rules the more professional you get.
-
When I grew up, a lot of times we played football we didn't even have a referee. Rules of the game remain the same, but as the game gets more professional I'd expect the refereeing to get more professional. If everything about the game was "fair" throughout all levels, that would mean the best refs should also ref kid games at schools. They don't. Because they're professionals and only ref professional games. These refs however would certainly be better at refereeing than some kids dad. The game of football has never all equal from the playground to Camp Nou, but the rules still remain the same throughout all levels even with VAR used at the highest.
