  1. I like him because he's a fucking mental nutcase. I like observing mental nutcases from a distance. Also the fact he seemingly absolutely detests Mike Ashley is an endearing factor. However I'm glad he's not at NUFC anymore. Or well, not really. If he was still here there's a chance we'd be entertained by fights on the pitch, which would be more interesting than the shit existence of nothingness we suffer today.

    Kevin Keegan

For the avoidance of doubt, the facts are that he quit newcastle (twice). Quit fulham for england. Quit England after losing to germany - world cup qualifying ruined. Iirc he played Southgate in midfield which was a bit silly and threw his teddies out of the pram when it didn't work then quit. A pattern of quitting can be observed although of course that is merely opinion. http://media.giphy.com/media/eI6NdZYSmzv20/giphy.gif
  3. Well yeah, if the "modern footballer" is a massive cheat like Wayne Rooney. Or Steven Taylor, aye. They're all massive cheats. Lazy comeback. Aye, not the best come back considering everyone here hates Steven Taylor And it was 10 years ago. Shameful stuff from The Frog. Which makes it even worse. Diving wasn't as prevalent as it is now. If you're going to try and tell me Newcastle players don't dive I'm out. Newcastle players don't dive
  4. I think he decided to put a hold on it after the carroll sale which didn't go down well with the club and that combined with his sudden appearance on twitter and everything that entailed (and his agent is will mckay which is enough reason to get rid of him to begin with) plus his history meant screw it take the loss and just get rid of him more trouble than he's worth. Which is the ultimate summation of his time here, a very good 6 month period (launching the ball to Carrolls head) compared to 3.5 years of bad headlines for the club, bans, injuries and prison.
  5. What's with the 20 year duration? Seems illogical from the leagues financial standpoint. No idea. Deal is with Fox Sports and was a huge upgrade on the previous deal. Safe to assume they couldn't get any better though. It's a massive deal, but I still think over 20 years they could've gotten a lot more if they'd sold in 4/5 year packages and then re-negotioate rather than the next 20 in one.

  10. The language that manager spoke was pure gibberish with some english words here and there.
  11. I like how they've put subtitles on the easily understandable and coherent English, but not on the manager going "Ah thald dem dsjha hahasajdgh scottish yeha."
  12. "The plane was going through a lot of turbulence, and Michael Owen turns cheerfully around and says "Michael Owen is too good to die in a plane crash."" FFS
  13. Something about loans down the divisions being classed as "emergency loans" making them allowed or some shit.
  14. And yet we're "light-years" better than in the past? With 0 amount of "realistic" hope of winning anything? We have better players to watch, we don't have to stand in the rain or walk out of the ground through piss, so yes it is better these days. Oh I have hope we'll win something, same as I did back then, but that hope is unrealistic as it is for most fans of most clubs. I've been much more entertained by shit like random MLS matches than watching our "better" players try to string two passes together. You're missing the entire point. Yes, we have better players, a better ground and higher attendances than we did ages ago. That does not equate to today being better, though. Back then, you didn't conciously know that someone was trying to make the club not be successful. With this knowledge, it will always, and I mean always, make today's experience infinitely worse. You watch football to be entertained, to watch someone trying to win. Today, as I mentioned, I can be more entertained by watching two Norwegian third division sides full of semi-pro players scrap it out, because even if the quality of play is beyond shit, it's two teams trying to win because they want to win.
  15. If you watched NUFC in the 70's and 80's it most certainly is. I did and it isn't. HAHAHAHAHA Jesus wept Aye, he's right, it is SOOO much worse right now than standing in the rain with piss running down the steps watching Glen Fucking Keeley or John Bird at centre half. Would assume the fact that watching Glen Fucking Keeley and John Bird play for a club that tried would make everything a thousand times better than what we're stuck with at the present. The quality of attendance/weather/opponents does not even enter the equation.
