Still the danger of finishing 2nd and missing out as the lowest ranked 2nd place team. Not Iceland. Second or third best 2nd placed team, which is why my opinion is that if it's clear Norway will end up the worst 2nd placed team regardless if they beat Iceland and pip them to second, we should just give them the win. Yeah but they have Cyprus next, so thats 0 points in terms of that table even if they win... whereas everybody else will claw back points. It could come down to if they lose in Norway they could get 2nd and be the worst 2nd placed team. Unlikely but a possibility. Nah, the points they have at the moment means that they'll beat Bulgaria (or someone in that group) pretty much regardless. In return, our only hope is the second placed team in Group B not winning more than one of the two next matches and us winning both, preferably with a big GD.

What ahead of Norway We've only a theoretical chance after today. And even if we win both next matches and end up second ahead of Iceland we'll probably have the lowest points of 2nd placed teams. Naturally, should the opportunity for some extraordinary reason arise that we may actually still sneak in, then by all means Iceland can fuck off.

Would be fairly amazing if Iceland managed to qualify tbh. Hope they do.

Hope Iceland makes it now. Switzerland in the WC would just be boring, maybe even more so than if Norway made it tbh.

Norway pretty much with no shot of reaching the WC now, 1st seed in pretty much the easiest group imaginable for us. Hope they sack every last member of the backroom staff when Drillo retires this year and replace them with some new ideas, our younger generation of players are actually pretty good for once, if only they'd be used.

Some Norwegian players were actually genuinly upset they missed out on the first group match due to having to play a full International and asked if they could miss it (they couldn't though). Shittest excuse ever.
