Ex-Man Utd and Blackburn defender, Henning Berg, says there's no such thing as "fair play" unless none of the teams gets an attacking advantage. (article is in Norwegian, so I've done a quick translation.) What is "fair play" these days anyways? I have to say I'm personally not so sure, as when a player goes down and its team has the ball, they don't play the ball out of play and keep attacking. But the moment the opposition has the ball, it "needs" to be played out. I also feel it's become more common for teams to not play the ball over the line when they have an attacking opportunity, but be all "fair play" when they don't have a chance. Should there be placed clearer rules regarding "fair play"? As in as long as the ref doesn't blow his whistle, both teams should get to play on even with a man down? (As long as it's not obviously a head injury and such, but then the ref is meant to blow regardless.)

Porto, Sporting, and Benfica are all decent teams. There's not much to say at all for the 13 or so others though. They are horrifically bad. Similar to Holland in that sense. I'd agree with all of those except for Romania. Then again they have some decent teams that have been getting results in Europe of late. edit: Holland is definitely worse than Portugal actually. Except Holland only really has ever had Ajax and Psv, at least now Portugal has Braga making some decent movements while Holland has Twente. AZ & Feyenoord are decent outfits They are but I'd debate if either play in the Champions League or even the Uefa cup with much regularity. PSV and Ajax certainly don't. I think a lot of people underestimate Portugal as a league. I would say they are a lot better than Braga. AZ and Feye? Must disagree there mate. I'd toss Heerenveen in as better than Braga as well tbh.

Would have to be implemented in the entire footballing world if it was to work, otherwise English football would take a dive into obscurity and the best players would flee the league like it was the plague. This isn't an issue for the NHL, NFL and NBA, as they're really the only "proper" leagues in the world. You can see it in the MLS though, with the best Yank players going off to obscure places like Norway and Belgium. Whilst it in theory seems great, it would never work. Communism seemed great, in theory.

I'd bring Djibril Cissé back from Greece. Other than that we need to get a fast paced midfielder with an attacking mindset in, I'd say Skjelbred but it's getting old now. I'd pretty much take anything as long as they're fast, young and can pass the ball around as well as being able to keep it up.
