  1. You should try listening to the Icelandic ones. It's just like commentary for the blind, a 100% accurate commentary of what is happening at any given time. "Martins passes down to Owen, Owen gets the ball, Owen turns and crosses over to Gutierrez, Gutierrez runs with the ball and shoots way over." *camera turns to fans* "There we have some Newcastle fans singing" *camera turns to the goalkeeper* "Here comes Van Der Saar, the Man U goalkeeper, and he kicks the ball upfield" etc. you never have any analysis of any kind. Listening to Sky commentators is like listening to Gods compared to the Icelandic ones. I actually know a family of die hard Man U fans that always watches the footy muted and honestly I can't blame them. Some of my favorite words of wisdom this season: "No no no, if you are going to shoot from that range you'll have to go much closer" Yorke is preparing to come on as a sub and the commentator, having nothing useful to say, goes "Dwight Yorke is coming on, he sure knows his way around the ladies" Then everyone of them is biased as fuck. The other day we had a Liverpool fan commentating a Liverpool game so in the warm-up he goes "Oh, I hope we get to hear You Never Walk Alone, that magnificent song" then of course a minute later they play it "Ok people, turn up the volume on your televisions because here it comes" , then for the whole time they were playing it he didn't utter a word, probably leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed hugging a Liverpool scarf. The Icelandic MOTD is even worse. Like everyone in the studio agreed that the penalty given in the Man U - Tottenham game was probably the right decision The Norwegian MOTD for both the Norwegian league, and the Premier League, are actually quite enjoyable. With the exception of two-three biased people from time to time. Some of the pundits actually know football as well.

  3. Hmmn, not been that good today... Hes there to watch Annan i think, and he has been superior to skjelbreid tbh. Hope Lsk win this:) What of that young Ivorian? Traore I think his name is. Is he ready fora higher level? Not even in the squad, not been in it for ages. Really? He was being called the next big Ivorian player like 2 years ago....then he just disappeared. What happened? I think they're being held out of the squad (by they I mean him and Konan Ya, the other Ivorian) for pure discipline reasons. They were acting up wanting to get away from Rosenborg in pre-season, and didn't come to practice and so on. So the coaching staff decided that they would not play first team football for a while, and threw them to practice with the reserves and juniors to teach them respect for the ones they're under contract with.

  5. Hmmn, not been that good today... Hes there to watch Annan i think, and he has been superior to skjelbreid tbh. Hope Lsk win this:) He's there for Skjelbred and Skjelbred only. At least according to some of the Rosenborg junior players who I've spoken with concerning the issue. Also, Skjelbred's had some brilliant passing and crossing. Not awesome, but good. Annan's been pretty much invisible, with the exception of the lsk player bashing his head in over and over.
  6. Looks like we're about to lose out on Per Ciljan Skjelbred, as Roy Hodgson is personally present at today's Rosenborg match to follow up on him. Having a stormer as well he is

  8. If that is true, i'm even more disgusted then i was a few minutes ago. Does anyone remember that particular incident? he actually kicked/tripped up Lennon when he were attacking. It was so cynical, it was actually funny. How did he not get booked?. Ok for sure Webb was corrupt. Not a massive Spurs fan KD, and would hate to see the bin dippers win the title but you were robbed today of a comfortable win - how that was a penalty is beyond me - Ronaldo takes his top off and petunantly kicks Lennon up in the air and only receives a yellow The backlash from Liverpool supporters/ officials/ players will be extreme and rightfully so You now have the makings of a top top side with Redknapp in charge and i would much prefer you to be the team challenging the top 4 than those money rich arabs from moss side Good luck mate Man, a pro spurs post on here? i really don't know how to react, except tell you that your analysis was spot on. Cheers mate . Thing is KD, you've had the makings of a top 4 a side for a while now. What is there to suggest next season will be your season? Nothing. I never once said we'll break top 4, and i don't think we will. I was agreeing with sicko2ndbest analysis of todays game. Going back to the top 4 talk, i also don't think neither you nor Villa are equipped to break into it, without changes in the summer. Just got to mention a pure fact, the only side that has really threatend what you can even call the "Top 2" in PREMIER LEAGUE history more then once is Newcastle and Blackburn, that pretty much sums it up how hard it is. 1993–1994: 1 Manu, 3 Newcastle 1995–1996: 1 Manu, 2 Newcastle 1996–1997: 1 Manu, 2 Newcastle What does Everton and Villa have? A couple of 4th and then 5-6 placed? is that challenging the "Top 4"? Everton has a 4th spot as their high since 1992, Villa has a 2nd spot (too long time away for me to remember if they really challanged that year), but has any of them threatend for the title since then? never a chance, never close. And what has Tottenham done, fuck shit thats what! two fucking 5th spots as their best, jeez. Newcastle from 93 to 97 really threatend the first spot with concistency, the rest is history.... All this talk within the Spurs, Everton and Villa fans talking about taking on the Top 4, just remember you have never and probably never will be as close as us. Back then I don't even think the term "top four" was actually even coined yet, so we didn't actually "break it". But still, good shout.
  9. doesn't that kinda sound like Kingdawson in all seriousness Who are you? Anyway, we were super s*** second half. Simply laid down and died. One thing i don't get though, Ronaldo was given a yellow for his blatant kick at lennon, so how didn't he get a second yellow for taking his top off? Those two cannot exist in the same sentence, it would mean the world was fair.
  10. The fabrics feels freaking awesome against my skin.
  11. The day you have followed Newcastle as much and to as many grounds as I have, and to have followed them through atrocious times even worse than this (hammered by Wrexham away for example) is the day you can criticize until then, keep your criticism to yourself, chum With regards that this is an Internet forum, and the fact that neither of you two have your ages listed. I'd say you guys should probably not go into an argument seeing how any of you can say you're superman as its the Internet.

  16. Really don't rate Huseklepp. He is brilliant at times, but he goes missing alot. He has a terrible goal-record as well. He has alot of the same attributes as Jonas, but Jonas is better. The only thing Huseklepp has that Jonas don't have is the ability to cross. Skjelbred has been okay this year, but he has not shown the same qualties he had before his injury. The thing about Rosenborg is that they have played far out of their skin in Europe, especially against the likes of Valencia, AC Milan, Juve, Dortmund and Chelsea. They won a lot of games in CL because of the morale and work ethic within the team, and CL probably triggered something the players don't have playing week in and out in the league. Skjelbred's performances was outstanding in these matches, but I wouldn't say he is bad when playing in the Norwegian league. He always runs his heart out, and he would do a better job in midfield than the w*nkers we have now. I think we should go for Rosenborgs defensive midfielder though, Anthony Annan. He is class. El Hadji Makthar Thioune is also a decent prospect, who currently plays for Molde in the Norwegian league. To be fair though, Skjelbred is by far the best central midfielder currently playing in the Norwegian league by a country mile, he'd walk straight into any current prem midfield bar the "top 4" and Villa. He's one of the highest rated prospects in Europe, and there's scouts from tons of different major european clubs present at every Rosenborg game watching him, including us. The reason I know the scouting part is simply because I stalk Rosenborg ressies/juniors as well as Newcastle ressies/juniors
  17. I like the kit. Much better than the current, though still not up there with the real gems we've had.
  18. I raise you one Kwangjoo Sangmoo Phoenix, the Korean military team. (who plays in our top division) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sangmoo I raise you FK Silkefot, a Norwegian fifth division club.
  19. Rumour doing the rounds that after the Brann coach Steinar Nilsen said a "big club" would snap up their winger Eirik Huseklepp in the summer, it was us that was the "big club" in question.
  20. Why is he still training here, does he like the Tyneside weather (which is admittedly pretty good right now)? Probably because he's contracted to the club and is a professional.
  21. They're going to the prem if they keep up their current form, hardly our opponents next season.
