  1. Argument won, well done. Not really, look at the stats for each player in this game and you will see Owen did more. I'm sure of it. Not to mention, Owen "scored" hadn't the linesman been a c***. Martins did not. I was being sarcastic. Thank fuck, was scared for your sanity for a moment.

  3. You have a handicap for seeing if Martins did well or not though, with him being Nigerian. Martins isn't a bad player, he just needs to work on being less egoistic and his link-up play with others. Individually he is quite good, but he also needs to work on his finishing skills. One awesome goal for the cameras in every 6-7 game is not good enough, even if it gives the impression he is awesome.
  4. Owen was getting the ball forwards, won second balls, had good distribution and worked well defensively. Not to mention he was actually looking up for the game for once, he seemed to be caring more than usual and did his best to link up with an absent midfield by coming backwards for the ball. I haven't rated Owen for many many games, but he looked like a goalscorer today, which he in all honesty was hadn't the linesman been a cunt. With a more useful midfield, we would've been a much bigger threat offensively than we was. But it was thanks to Owen we had some tooth going forward, not Martins. Martins was just running around like a headless chicken and losing the ball, except two good situations where he fooled some Chelsea players. Not to mention he just shot the ball in a bad situation when he could've just pushed it to the left to a wide open Owen who had a wide open goal in front of him. I'd much rather see an Owen - Carroll partnership against Stoke, Martins is just too ineffective and egoistic. Hopefully Shearer can knock some sense into him.
  5. Owen was easily better than Martins today.
  6. http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,61157.0.html merge tbh
  7. No, they're shit. wish we were that shit. I'm comparing them with Manchester United, not us. They're shit compared to Manchester United, and that's why they won't win the title, but Manchester United will.
  8. And rightly so. He may be a want-away who gets crocked every third match, but he's still the only one who can create a goal out of nowhere on a regular basis once he gets going. Not counting Martins in this as he doesn't create something out of nothing regularily.
  9. Would get raped for pace on the left in my humble. Better than in a centre half position, anyway I think Colo's quicker than Enrique I lol'd.
  10. The ultimate awesome would be Gerrard using his hand to fist in an own goal in the 90th and have it be allowed.
  11. You mean a Brede Hangeland header from a corner, silly. At least make it an overhead kick. He's tall, he's like Crouch in the sense he could just stand still and direct it in with his head while the players around him are jumping to get up.

    Ryan Taylor/Nolan

Yes, they get paid for it so it is per definition their profession. If they are good at their profession, that is another matter to discuss.
  14. That means the laws of the universe will make it so that Fulham scores a fluky winner towards the end.
  15. It's not saddingly impressive before you toss the amount of time passed onto there.
  16. I blame Spurs for the Gaza crisis, the terrorists and world hunger.
  17. Absolutely! does anyone know when Barton will be back?. 11th April according to Physio Room.
  18. Haha, i would too admittedly, but what exactly are you basing that on? Only those brief glimpses when he was playing but even so there was something about him that says that if he was playing a bit more regular he would be banging them in. I mean he can't do any worse than Owen and Martins at the moment. Well, he could. He could lose the ball at every touch and stand behind Harper for 90 minutes.
  19. Haha, i would too admittedly, but what exactly are you basing that on? He wasn't exactly half bad in Spain.

  21. Not having a go but what good would you have taken from today? I'd take the fact that we weren't playing badly at all, bar Colo. On the other hand, the space between our midfield and attack is appalling.
