Out of interest, why would Roberts be a pointless signing? Because he's old, an average footballer, and doesn't score many goals. We need a striker that will make a significant impact.

One thing i've noticed about this division is how important singing is, your team can lose, but aslong as you can whinge about how your guys sang better than their guys then you are the moral victors. It's a load of small time horseshit.

He's not awful now though, he's just been playing in Peru.

He's not that fucking old, I don't see why some think it's laughable.

The Nobby that was at West Ham was certainly good enough, but since then I've only seen him once, for Peru against Argentina not long ago. He looked alright. I see no reason why he can't come back as a temporary squad player.

I think that was ashleys plan all along I don't think it's a bad plan really, there's no point in letting the likes of Leeds exploit us, from what I've heard they have been offered more than enough considering the circumstances.

He can be better than that though, he has the ability. I don't think he's ever had much passing ability, and the talent he did have has been on the decline. I knew he would be a shit signing.

Another workhorse is hardly going to make us play better football.

Personally i think the kid needs to leave for his own good, he's reaching the age where he has to be playing regularly to improve.

I think the truth is, although Hughton has done a good job, he isn't really the type that will make someone like Elano succeed. The best thing he can do IMO is focus on defence, get some athletic players and try to make us a counterattacking team. People won't like it, but we have to play ugly for a season or two.

I'm not blaming Beye for leaving, like i said i have nothing against him, but signing players that left last season would just leave a sour taste in my mouth. It's not very progressive, and although he was a decent player i think it would be quite a negative move overall. What will the players that stayed and worked hard towards promotion think about someone that was part of the relegation side just walking back in as if nothing had happened. I wouldn't be very impressed.

Barton never plays, it's all very well saying "if fit", he never actually is, we can't include him in any plans for the first team.

We'll more than likely have f*** all to spend, Barton's a much better option than spunking 3/4m of much needed money on someone on the way down like some of the names already mentioned. Cleverley is a shout as he'll be free. Barton is always injured, is paid way too much, and is a shockingly average player. Not for Man City he wasn't. I think the last 3 seasons are more relevant. Alright, not for us under Keegan he wasn't. Last season was obviously a complete write off because of injury. A tiny bit of form at the end of that season isn't enough. Owen and Viduka were good during that period aswell, but i wouldn't want them here next season. Viduka's finished, and Owen had all season to show he could be valuable to us, and failed. I would argue that Barton is finished, atleast at this club, his injury record is enough for me to want him to leave. I've never particularly rated him as a player either, i just see him as another clogger, his passing has always been shockingly overrated, i was warned about it by a City fan before he came and so far he has been 100% correct. He certainly can't be described as creative.
