No thanks, contributed to the only thing Alan Smith has done in a b&w strip He had a good game apart from the penalty, i was quite impressed.
-
Giles Barnes, maybe that Omozusi kid from Fulham as back up.
-
I'm sure he'll set plenty up for their main man up front.... Danny Dichio.
-
Dyer was a class player back in them days. That midfield worked, say what you like about it on paper, they were on the same wavelength.
-
Bollocks, complete over haul has never worked. In your opinion Barton is mediocre. For me he's in good form and can get better and better with the right coaching. Do seriously believe we can go out and sign ferdinand and vidic standard for next season? If not that standard what? I suppose you believe someone like Melberg is better than Faye? Us conceeding goals has been down to the midfield not the personnel in defence. Complete overhaul worked for Spurs under Jol, and City under Sven. It only doesn't work if you do it badly. Barton has had a couple of good games, he still has below par talent for me and is a mere grafter. I don't think we can go out and sign Vidic and Ferdinand, i just said that Carrick is unrealistic ffs. And yes Mellberg is better than Faye, he would be a good signing if he wasn't going to Juventus. And i know the midfield is largely to blame for our poor defence, i've said it all season, this is partly why Barton shouldn't be a first teamer. All season he has been losing the ball in the middle of the pitch, been getting caught in possession, and passing to the opposition. Faye is a decent player, but he is clumsy ast times and his positioning isn't great.
-
That's a depressing team tbh. Carrick is unrealistic, Viduka is hardly ever fit, Barton is mediocre, and Faye is a squad player. We can't let a couple of good wins paper over the cracks, we still need alot of changes in the summer.
-
He is reliable, when he's not having a mare and letting in 7 against Portsmouth. That was THE worst display of keeping i've ever seen.
-
I wouldn't be too upset, but surely we can do better. The chap has never been a great, or even very good, goalscorer.
-
Apart from this season he's been average in the top leagues. I also cannot see him working well in this league, massive gamble imo I'd rather take a gamble on someone like him than go for proven mediocrity like Dean Ashton.
-
I don't see how Fabiano is overrated. The guy has 22 league goals this season and has always had a good scoring record, but on the other hand everyone knows he's not Samuel Eto'o. I think the likes of Fabiano are probably out of our league at the moment, we can't turn our noses up at him like we can do better.
-
I see him as a squad player tbh.
-
I hope he enjoyed the game yesterday.
-
BINGO! I'd trial it until the end of the season atleast, if it continues to work then yeah why not, i like it. Why does it always have to be 442 says i?!
-
Half an hour and we've been shown two 1-0 games. Booooo!
-
Bravo! Bravo! I'm loving this formation and Owen, Geremi, and Viduka are looking worthy of being here next season. Still plenty that need to be kicked out though,
-
How would you chaps feel about this formation being kept on a more permanent basis? I know most are 4-4-2 die hards, but this is actually working!
-
Piss off. Quality cross, quality header, quality goal. He probably could have closed Malbranque down a bit but that really wasn't 'absolutely f****** awful' defending. Shouldn't have been a cross in the first place. We're not closing them down anywhere near fast enough. The guy only took 1 touch before his cross, it's not like he had the ball for ages.

Top 20 underperformers of the 2007/08 Premier League season
Kimbo replied to LooneyToonArmy's topic in Football
Aye he's s***. Smith should definitely be in the top 5. What did people expect from him though? I knew he would be shite when we signed him. He's doing exactly what i thought he would do. -
Top 20 underperformers of the 2007/08 Premier League season

I don't think Lennon is underperforming, i just don't think he is that talented -
He complained about the cold as well, which really wouldn't serve him well up here. Maybe he's grown up since then, i don't think comments he made a couple of years ago should be held against him too much. I mean who doesn't whine about the weather in England?
-
Unless he is buying a geordie i don't think the shirt number will be an issue.
-
Some of the goals Chopra scored in the championship were top drawer. I really don't think he's very talented tbh. And the national team ain't a great measure of talent, afterall Phil Neville has 59 caps.
-
Jussi has exactly the same weaknesses as Given and is having a bad season, bizarre choice. Same goes for Walcott who has shown nothing at Arsenal. Yeah, i doubt having the two quickest players in the Premier League up front would have any effect at all. Scrap that idea! There's no point in being quick if you don't know what to do with the ball. Walcott is a genuine pace merchant.

Really? If I was a Newcastle fan, I'd have a fit Ashton in the team ahead of any of your strikers bar Martins. I would have thought the only question mark is his ability to stay fit, not his ability in general. Ashton has been gash since he came back from his broken ankle. I wouldn't touch him.
