I bet they try to flip Delap for a profit to us next summer.

Hopefully he hits the ground running and tells Philip Lahm to get fucked. Just read his article today in the guardian comparing the Wirtz and Woltemade signings. Wirtz is a guaranteed success and Woltemade is a gamble made by a club that doesn’t know what it’s doing.

I’m thinking back to that Frattesi story, that we were in talks after the injuries against Liverpool but then as they weren’t too bad we decided he wasn’t needed.
-
He was always going to miss chunks of the season here and there, we needed another Bruno but we got another Willock.

What’s with the massive trousers young lads are wearing these days? It’s very Mike Ashley.

My impression of NK is that they have extreme restrictions on what people can do or what information they can access, the ability to come and go from the country, and of course all employment is strictly controlled by the state. Also punishments for breaking laws can involve torture and be multigenerational (ie your kids and grandkids can be punished as well). But I’m open to anything showing this is nonsense, there’s a lot we don’t know about NK.

There’s been plenty of testimony over the years from people that have defected, but I’m open to evidence that contradicts my view.

We don’t know how many civilians have been killed in occupied Ukraine, but whether a team gets banned has nothing to do with civilian deaths really. North Korea is the world’s biggest concentration camp but everyone seems happy for them to compete. The biggest slaughter of civilians is probably taking place in Sudan, but it’s not affecting their football. Countries boycotting Russia was more about self-interest, Russia was invading a friendly European country and threatening the rest, so naturally Europe had a strong reaction to this, while most of the rest of the world shrugged. Israel would probably have the same response if it played in AFC qualifying, as they should be. So it seems to me the problem is letting countries compete in continents they don’t belong to. If Russia was being judged by another continent, they would never have got banned.
-
I think Russia got banned because it was clear teams would refuse to play them, the same pressure would have to applied with regards to Israel. UEFA and FIFA don’t give a shit about anything but backhanders.

I want to see Milenkovic defending from the halfway line.
-
Isak would be shirking handslaps after the 3rd runner.
-
Dunno why people are always talking about selling Barnes. If you want to upgrade LW then you’ll get more profit out of Gordon, and Barnes is probably more likely to accept a squad role. Not that I want either to go.
-
Almost every player you watch during the international break will look completely different when they’re playing in a team with an actual system and patterns of play.
-
The only man in the world not aware of the Isak transfer.
-
Players are media trained to say as little as possible and be as inoffensive as possible, what they say in interviews and press conferences are irrelevant and aren’t representative of anything IMO.
-
Goldbridge is miles from the worst. He’s created a character and milks it on his stream, but he doesn’t create edgy opinions for attention or shit on non-ESL clubs as if they should be grateful they exist. I’m describing Rory Jennings.
-
I think Anderson taught us that a player needs to be starting games on a weekly basis. Playing here and there makes it difficult build any momentum.
-
The most immediate situation, assuming our transfers work out, is midfield IMO. Miley needs a loan, Willock needs a transfer, and Tonali and Bruno need a capable backup so they don’t have to play every minute. We need an attacking midfielder that is also high energy (Frattesi seems suitable) and a good ball winner that can play in DM.

Generally speaking I’d like to see us take a chance on lower priced young players a bit more rather than go for established stars. We were linked to Desire Doue but didn’t go for him in 2023, a year later he goes to PSG. Same story with Huijsen. Just those two signings would’ve been transformative for us.
-
It was impressive from Glasner IMO. Most managers would just meekly accept the situation, but he put a stop to it. It’s going to be a shame when he moves to an ESL club and I have to hate him.
-
I rate Botman highly and wouldn’t want to see him leave, but I doubt you’ll ever be able to rely on him to play twice per week. He’ll always need his minutes managed. Fortunately I reckon Burn has years left in him.
-
The club should paint Isak’s face on all the toilet bowls in the training ground to send a message to the squad. Publicly supporting him when he has nothing to say about the people that helped him is pretty funny. He doesn’t care Sven, he’ll probably start leaving your messages on read.
-
I’m not sure why Thiaw would be more of a coup than the others given that Milan were trying to sell him to Como for about £10m less than what we paid.
-
He doesn’t need to thank the fans, but if he had anything about him he would be thanking Eddie, the coaching staff, and his teammates for helping turn him from an ex-prospect that had scored 6 goals in a season into a top class striker. He likely thinks he did it all himself, he’s got that Michael Owen dead behind the eyes brain. I bet he’s only ever seen two films he’s liked and one of them is Bad Boys 2.
