That would be disappointing if it turns out to be true, but he’s shown he can develop over time. At Newcastle he’s not been the same manager he was at Bournemouth. He’s not one of these managers that decides what his style is and dies with it.

Even if we have a shit season I won’t be wanting a new manager. Howe has the right character and the ability to adapt and turn things around. The only thing I want is for us to value technical ability more and become more comfortable in possession, I’ve wanted that for a couple of seasons and I don’t think it’s happening. When we control games it always seems to be through superior athleticism.

I think we needed a rebuild/refresh in the summer to raise the bar technically. Right now only 2/5 big money signings have worked out and we still don’t have a keeper that can play the ball, even though we’ve been after one for 2 seasons. Hopefully we have something planned for January.

No chance we spent £55m on a guy because he’s Swedish and Isak is Swedish.

Another contract on the barbie.

Neither are showing much signs of decline tbf, I wouldn’t move them on just because they’re 33/34. I’d be in favour of bringing in a 18-20 year old prospect, but the likes of Scalvini that will cost £50m and demand a first team place seem unnecessary right now.

What’s your problem with our CB’s?

I agree it might be funny, but I don’t think it’s supposed to be. It’s supposed to be a drama about a grown man flouncing out of a training camp like an pissy teenager.

No idea how they’ve made a film out of that. I’m expecting one of the worst films I’ll ever see.

Would PIF spend a billion, or whatever it would be, on a new stadium, but accept not owning the land it’s on?

I’m listening to Roy Keane on the overlap not understanding why Forest are struggling while the others, even Jill, try to explain the change in tactics from Nuno to Ange. “Players need to able to adapt!”. The man is dumb as a rock.

Trippier, Bruno, Burn. If Tonali commits long term then he can be number one.
-
I’ve always doubted whether he’ll be able to handle the way we play without breaking down. I don’t want to write him off, it’s nothing personal.

I’m pretty confident Ramsdale will be made permanent. He’ll do a decent job when called upon and at some point Pope will get injured and he’ll get a run in the team. He’s also probably a better keeper than Trafford right now and is only 27. My thoughts for next summer are mainly around strengthening midfield, we’re in massive trouble of Bruno or Tonali get injured; Willock out / Anderson or Ederson in Ramsey out / Frattesi in (if it doesn’t work out obviously, which I don’t think it will, but we’ll see) LB/RB backup Ramsdale I’d also be interested in a LW like Nusa if we get a bid for Barnes or Gordon

I’m assuming Hall is being limited to one game per week and will start against Notts Forest. If not it’s a bit of a concern. We probably need to bring in fullback cover in January because I can see Livramento needing his minutes managed as well. I don’t see Burn at LB as acceptable over a long period.

Konate should be booked for kicking him.

If that stands I’m writing a letter to UEFA.
