  1. Just awesome.....I got up to watch the second half and was half asleep but went absolutely crazy when Duff scored. I was absolutely stuffed at work but it was all worth it. Especially when it's against Spurs. COYS hahahahahaha

    Jose Enrique

he'll be right. Not great but not bad either. It seems most spanish players in the premier league need a run of games and the manager's confidence before they play well. At least he's infinitely better than babayaro...
  3. So stoked with the result...A couple of workmates who support Man U and the Yids were having a go at me for Spurs going above us. Idiots. I made a bet that we would Villa for shouting coffee tomorrow lunch. I should have gone for food or $$$. Anyway, I will order a large iced coffee tomorrow and then pour it on the ground out of spite. I am aim to revel in this victory as much as I can.
  4. I honestly don't think he'll hang around. If he feels as strongly about it as the statement makes out, he'll be desperately trying to flog the club before the next home game. Does nobody else think that maybe, just maybe, he isn't going to sell, but he's put out this statement in the hope that it will get people off his back and it will all eventually blow over. Yep...I can only hope so...
  5. I was disgusted with the fans today. Congratulations evryone who contributed to an atmosphere that would do nothing but dishearten the players. And if those same fans are now angry at the result then I hope they realise they have played a part in the defeat. TWATS Spot on. It was embarrassing really.
  6. Soooooooooo frustrating watching him. His choice and execution in passing is just awful. As a defensive mid he needs to play the easy balls well e.g. Makelele and Senna. Just frustrating.
  7. Mancini? No way... why not? He has a winning CV. He's my first choice considering Marcelino is unavailable. Because of the brand of his football... I dunno, Mancini was a pretty good forward back in his day. I'm sure Mancini was smart enough to consider that in Italy he needed to play defensively. Moreover, there probably was a 'director of football' suggesting that style. Mancini is smart enough to adapt a different style here. He's had some time at Leicester (albeit very short) but he would know what the Premier league is like and what the fans are like. The man himself says: "I had always wanted to play in the Premier League and was lucky to have done so, even very briefly. What I like most about the way football is lived in England is that a match is still essentially a sporting event." If one day he had to choose between a top coaching job in England and one in Spain? "England, definitely, for the spirit that exists there." from: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4158/is_20050305/ai_n11855084

  9. I wouldn't laugh at that suggestion. Wouldn't be first choice but I see where you come from. He plays attractive football, very positive and innovative. I like Mowbray.
  10. The truth is a lot of people are still thinking with their heart instead of their brain. yeah i know, i'm still prickly about all these fucktards who told me to stop "moaning" all summer 'cause i wasn't happy with mikes transfer activity i was "moaning" and not knowing what i was talking about but now an entirely different facet of mikes plan ('cause he must have one obviously) doesn't support what they want and fucken hell breaks loose personally i like KK and wanted him to stay but the conflicts are/were obvious & assuming ashley does have his plan then he's chosen his idea above the man, noble really also, for what it's worth, when we get bought out again in the very near future and an indian or whoever is throwing money at the team i for one think there are better managers out there we could choose to spend it, but that'll be me talking s**** and moaning again probably Both right on point. Emotionally this situation sucks since KK is such a legend. But - assuming Ashley is not such an idiot and he has a vision that includes this continental system at the club, then he is keeping to his guns like a leader is supposed to do. Totally gutted Keegan has left. But I'm not passing judgment on Ashley yet. We'll see what his next moves are...

nothing wrong with the club making money. if you win and make money that is ideal. not win and lose money
  12. I want the Special One :haha: or the Messiah...one or the other would be fine. If not, Marcelino has done good things with Santander. Mancini is linked with West Ham - and he has pedigree. I wouldnt' mind either of those two. Mancini has a bit of class and would command respect with the players (and fans hopefully) I reckon.
  13. Until it's official we are going to look like idiots. It is quite shocking news tho...
  14. Good stuff Dave. Some people actually looking at the big picture. I'm convinced Ashley is doing big things behind the scenes. The old board really stuffed the club up I reckon. In my opinion, Sheperd was gung ho and had a big ego. Ashley is now rebuilding the club and building a strong foundation. To change the structure, culture and attitude is going to take a while but he has done well so far. Look at the appointment of Mort and then stepping down. Mort just didn't step down. The way he left makes me think he went to do a job for a certain period of time and once he did it he left. I know most of what I'm saying is unfounded but over the past year the club has been run differently and you can see the subtle differences. The signing of Jonas and Guthrie with very little (if any) media exposure. Coloccini was bought at a high price - but we did not fall to Depor's antics. Bassong - bought after careful scrutiny. Professional and astute. I get a good 'vibe' about Ashley's era.
  15. We'll make at least one signing before the transfer window closes. Don't you people remember how sudden the Jonas signing was? That's how transfers should be dealt with tbh. As little media coverage as possible until the player has signed the dotted line. Much more professional. We still have a few more days anyhow.
  16. Zoggy left wing - Jonas right wing is my preference. Milner can leave. I'm sure we have a decent replacement. Quaresma??
  17. Ex-Toon "star" Michael Bridges played for a few months last season on loan at Sydney FC - and scored a few goals too. So yeah, Championship at very best... David Carney left Sydney for Sheffield United which was unanimously considered a step up... Wellington are supposed to be a dark horse this season - do Kiwis generally care about them? To be honest, it'd be struggling to even be at Championship standard. I'd honestly say lower League 1. i be there Me too more than likely. Quite a few south aussies here. I'll be there too
  18. f*** off you bollocks! obviously you wouldn't
  19. You lads seen Ljunberg released? Any takers? 31 now and injury prone at WH but could add some creativity to the midfield.
  20. Ronaldo is a world-class player playing in a team of other world-class players, something that we're nowhere near at the moment. I think comparing his role in the Man U team with Guttierez's role in ours is at best shaky. What we need is service from the flanks, and sticking Guthrie out there will not provide it. And the "Static 4-4-2" has not been bad because there's somthing inherently wrong with 4-4-2, but because we've been fielding inept players. For me it's: --------------------Given Beye Coloccini Bassong/Faye Enrique ---------------Faye/Guthrie Guttierez/Milner -------- Duff/Milner/Guttierez ------------------N'Zogbia --------------Owen Martins That's if we had to start the season tomorrow, but hopefully a couple more signings will change that around a bit. A creative mid is a must for me, then Charlie can play left wing if he gets his head screwed on correctly. And just because Ronaldo is world class he is allowed to move positions? mackems.gif Jonas an Argentinian international is not good enough to do that in your eyes? In Man U's team they have all the attack swapping positions at different times, if Ronaldo was just to change positions then the team would lose their shape but because of their quality they are able to do this, it's reality that we aren't good enough to do this. Totally disagree that you can't interchange position with our side at full strength. Viduka, Owen and Martins were doing it when we switched to 4-3-3 with Barton pushing further on from midfield. They were playing in positions they were comfortable in, if you play Jonas as creative midfielder then you're talking a large percentage of his game away which is the ability to bomb up and down the wing, just because he's on the wing doesn't mean he can't create from their. Agree. Players should play to their strengths. As talented as Jonas may be, it would be best to utilise him on the wing, at least at first. Ronaldo has been talked about and he too is most effective on the wings rather than in the middle. Anyway, I'm 99% sure KK will play Jonas on the wings.
  21. I have to say this is probably a good thing. In my view, players who want to play for us are more successful than those who come for the money. This stance also forces the club to look for 'hidden' talent rather than 'known' players who demand excessive amounts of money. Shows the club is more stable and creates a culture that the club is bigger than the player and not the other way round.
  22. hey i empathise. i wear skins when i play these days because my physio said it'll support my knees and other muscles. tbh i'm not sure how it does, but there is some psychological advantage i reckon.
