  1. Gaouaoui made a fantastic svae to keep to keep it 1-0. As things stand: Algeria to the World Cup. This is tense.
  2. You should switch Gerrard and Lampard imo.
  3. Nope. Only seen French and Arabic thus far.
  4. Agreed Oceania needs to merge with Asia. The region is ridculously small minus Australia. Insanity that one of those rubbish teams gets a one off to the World Cup. Honduras and Korea earned it definitely. Algeria are going through hell at this moment and if they make it, they'll definitely deserve it. Algeria play good football, btw. They'd be a good watch. edit: at a basketball team called the "Tall Blacks"
  5. Rodwell really shouldn't go to Chelsea. There's no way he's getting on the pitch at DM, CM, or CB for a good little while.
  6. I want Algeria to win as I know bloke from there. The Egyptians only give 2000 tickets to Alegria, there was also a request to FIFA fro a ref from Europe to be in charge. Three Algerian players got injured by stones thrown from Egyptian fans as well. You can see one of the injuries on this link: http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/Algeria/photo//091113/photos_wl_africa_afp/447b080275c0ab6b7250f26d6f401264//s:/afp/20091113/wl_mideast_afp/fblwc2010afr2010egyalgviolence#photoViewer=/091113/photos_wl_africa_afp/447b080275c0ab6b7250f26d6f401264 The rivalry is really huge and largely can be violent between these North African teams.
  7. He has a right to have an opinion on the best best players in the world. Whereas Ian Wright, Andy Townsend and Robbie Earle don't. You don't think Ian Wright was one of the best in the world?
  8. Watching Algerians and Egyptians exchange insults on Justin TV is more fun than any football match this weekend. Hiddink must be enraged. Russia are the better theam, but carelessness could cost them.
  9. Did you really expect these jaded English and Brazilian players to exert any kind of effort in Doha, btw? I doubt more than three or four of them care. It's just a money making venture.
  10. Why do you want to piss on everybody's international prapde? African qualifiers have been incredible thus far, and this Egypt-Algeria game I'm watching is just massive in every way. Don't forget the massive playoffs in Europe and the Asia-Oceania playoff. There are a lot of terrible int'l weekends but this is not one.
  11. 1-0 Egypt. Amr Zaki. Atmoshphere is rocking, going to be a looong night.
  12. True. But imho they'd piss the CCC...would be as easy for them as it's been for us (so far). I'd go along with that. Can't think of a single player in the SPL who would start for a top 4 team down here though. Top four? Top 12, more like. McGeady might be a nice option off of someone's bench I suppose. Their strikeforce is Fortune, Samaras, and McDonald. They are nothing.
  13. I'm going to tear some ligaments for sure. Just booked my tickets on an Emirati airline. New York->Dubai 12 hours 30 minutes 1 week later.... Dubai->Lagos 8 hours 40 minutes Flying with the peasants of course Someone needs to make an airline for tall and/or fat people.
  14. Say, what you want about Martins' work ethic (frankly these arguments were boring when he was actually at the club, so I won't go into them), but he clearly did not "feign injury" before the Stoke game. The guy was clearly dealing with a real injury in every game after Stoke, and was yet to fully recover well into the time with his new club. The idea that he was so scared of Stoke, he feigned his way into surgery is absolutely insane. As for Lovenkrands, I just remember that injury being pretty awful on the pitch. It was pretty serious wasn't it? Didn't he spend a decent amount of time in the hospital? I don't think either player faked. If you're going to fake, wouldn't you claim sprained ankle or something, instead limping through five matches (Oba) or pretending to die (Peter)?
  15. Reminds me of America NBA player Eddie Griffin , who comitted suicide by sitting in his car on train the tracks until the train came. He was burned so badly they could not recognise the body. That wasn't really surprising though. He was troubled. Had severe alcohol/drug problems and had gotten into a car accident while pleasuring himself. Enke, on the other hand, seemed to be relatively stable and headed in the right direction in his career. He wasn't though, and that's the point. He was diagnosed as clinically depressed as early as 2003, but it was kept quiet because they were worried about the public reaction, as well as the possibility that it might lead to him losing his kids. What a mess. As a contrast, I can't remember what the reaction was to Trescothick's problems, initially, but he seems to have been given a lot of time to come to terms with it by the public and media. Had no idea he had such severe problems into now. It seems the problems actually started with his lack of success at Barcelona and other clubs on the continent. I suppose these were only cpmpounded by the death of his child.
  16. N'Gog cheated for sure, but it was a stupid attempt by Carsley. A reckless and unnecessary tackle at that position on the pitch.

  18. Hmm...It's a common name in Cameroon and it is usually spelled N'Gog in the same format as N'Zogbia and N'Siabamfumu. Maybe he has simply changed it for clarity.
  19. RIP to them as well. However, I have not heard of any of these people before, nor do I know them personally. The news that soldiers have died in a war does not strike me in the same way. Regardless of that thought, the emotion is still the same. Unnecessary death is a shame regardless of who it is.
  20. What the hell! That's the last thing I expected when I opened this thread! R.I.P. That's tragic and very very unexpected. He really was justed coming into his own and getting the recognition he deserved.
  21. That's his stupid fault then. All players should know football is a short career. It's completely fair to spend on martgages, car, etc. based on expectation of future income stream. It's not only a footballer problem. 99 percent of the population would have a problem if their career and earnings were suddenly cut short.
