  1. Bollocks, I rather watch Dave and Nixon, getting it on covered in oil. Serie A is crap. Don't get this whole attitude some English folks have where they can't comment on Serie A, La Liga, Lige 1, etc. without stating how the league is rubbish and not as good as the Premiership. You even here broadcasters in the middle of matches saying why they think the Premiership is the best league in the world. It's like they're trying to validate themselves or compensate for something. Seems to be unique to the English league and it is a weird complex.
  2. This is the greatest display of athleticism in his Newcastle career. Blackpool away will be an interesting experience for some of the first-timers in this division, but I would honestly expect us to win quite easily.
  3. I believe he meant back as in Juventus are back to cheating/buying off the referees. Inter never stopped tbf though.
  4. I'm hoping they can peat PSG tonight, so we can stay fourth.......behind Montpellier
  5. We haven't had defensive depth for about seven years. Just sign him on free, and get in a better player if he proves not good enough. It is not like he has to start.
  6. Utter tosh. He's failed at every club besides Porto and Sporting. At international level he's never really done it. He has time left, but he has done nothing to disprove any of his doubters.
  7. You people are really good with this program, tbh. I can only really draw in lines and fill in spaces with the bucket.
  8. Quaresma is garbage honestly. He should just go back to Portugal and accept that he is rubbish.
  9. He was by himself because we literally had no other senior strikers at the time as Shola was injured and Owen was still recovering from tearing his leg up in Germany. He wasn't 19 of course, but it was still his first game in English football. Really, when I saw your post, it just reminded me of Oba's first match here. He got some vitriol, but most people were sensible for the same reasons. Ranger is only 18 btw.
  10. He achieved enough. Very good at some points, but his limiations made it so he'd never be a top class player. You could easily compare him with some of the best 10 players in the premiership (I can think of at least 2 at Chelsea) and say that Viduka had more natural talent for the game. The difference being, they've worked to get better and better. Viduka's natural talent easily outweights Shearer's for example, but Shearer was determined to make the absolute best of it by maintaing (and eventually adapting) fantastic physical condition. And of course, showing professionalism on and off the pitch. Can you elaborate? That whole natural talent thing is rubbish I think personally. Physicality and determination are as much football skills as controling the ball imo. spoken like a true African, no offense intended whatsoever I'm still insulted tbh. Hell, my favorite player is Kanu who definitely is not known for physicality and determination. If had those things, maybe he would have had an even more illustrious career. These things are undoubtedly important imo. Messi is one of the best not only because of his ball skills, but his quickness and his deceptive strength and low center of gravity. Cristiano Ronaldo is great not only because of his quick feet and shooting ability, but because he has great height and can run like a horse.
  11. we've had other forwards who got slagged off cos they didn't make any chances for themselves. When playing up front on their own on their full debut? You should look at the comments about Oba's debut in the exact same circumstance. We seem to expect a lot at his club.

  14. That's not really amusing to be honest. Nice little factoid nonetheless. When he says us? Ok, I'll be changing my sig until people gets to know me more... Barca. Maybe you could just write Barcelona, Barca, or even bloody FCB. It isn't that diffcult really. I support Marseille, but I don't just go around expecting people to know what club you support. Also, one of the world's most coveted youngsters almost signing for Barcelona isn't an amusing story. It's not even a story. It would be a story if this had not occured. Why the hostility? I thought it was semi-interesting since Balotelli for some reason comes up often here. And yes, I get bored easily and post non-sense on forums, like a lot of other people. It was interesting mate, he's just being arsey. My response was probaly a bit over the top, yeah. I'm not one to fight over the internet either, so I apologize. Still, I dont think it's all that interesting. A ludicorus number of the world's best youngsters are connected to Barca somehow.
  15. A bit like Ligue 1, then? More like the Paulista, tbh.

  17. Me to, they've played some really enjoyable football in the qualifiers so far. Dzeko, Ibisevic, Muslimovic, Salihovic etc. can break down any defence. f*** off, there isn't a player called Muslimovic, whats he supposed to be a Russian Muslim? Why Russian when he is Bosnian? He's actually Swedish and called Zlatan too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zlatan_Muslimovi%C4%87 Also, Ibrahimovic in English would be something like "Abrahamson" so there doesn't seem to be any real religious attachment to their names... Muslimovic was absolutely mint on CM 99/00. I assumed he didn't really exist though, a bit like Mads Jorgensen, Kennedy Bakircioglu, Tonton Zola Moukoko and Adrian Mihalcea. Very good player. Has been very important in Wolfsburg recent success. Acutally, I'm thinking of Misimovic, never mind then.
  18. Pompey will finish at least 15th I trust them.
  19. What is that based on? In 19 seasons on professional football he has scored double figures 4 times, only one of those in the past NINE years. Well past it these days tbh Dont know where you're getting 19 seasons, unless you're including his experiences as a youth in Nigeria. You are right, he has never been a top goal scorer. But he has quite a bit of vision and creativity and creates chances for the teammates as well as scoring quite a few himself.
  20. Frederic Piquionne, Kanu, Tommy Smith, Danny Webber and John Utaka. Goals galore at Fratton Park this season! Kanu is class and will help them stay up. Piquonne is decent and will socre some. Utaka I don't get. Sometimes he looks very quick, other times he run likes he pregnant. I'm not saying Kanu's rubbish as such, just he'll be on a pension in a few years, his legs are shot. Piquonne has looked s**** thus far, and Utaka IS s****, trust me. Fair enough about Kanu, but his legs were shot when he won them the FA Cup. Piq has been a decent player in France and he can definitely do a job for a lower level Premiership team. Utaka is rubbish, garbage. I've seen his whole career, I don't disagree. But he usually has about 4 or 5 good games a season. I think they'll survive.

  22. M'Bami wouldn't be coming here (even though it probaly is his level.)
  23. I would not mind giving Julian Gray and Henri Camara chances to redicover form here.
  24. I'm sorry, but there are a whole bunch of leftbacks who are quality attacking players. Even comparing to his Chelsea teammate Boswinga his attacking game is subpar.
