A bit of an overreaction for a post that basically said Richard Dunne was s***.

Goodness...that was terrible. Only Barton (well, Given too I guess) has been good. Jonas and Enrique have made a ridiculous number of mistakes, while the centreback pairing has been shaky as anything. Ameobi has looked strong every once in a while and Oba has looked dangerous a few times, but for the most part they're just strolling around getting pissed on like everybody else.

He's older than Robbie Fowler, and on form is probaly one of the five best players in the world right now.

Udinese are class throughout the side, Fully expect them to be top four this year. On a side note, Ibrahimovic is a very very annoying player. Also, that sound that is played for every substitution in Serie A is fantastic.

Fulham vs Newcastle United 9/11/08 Pre-match thread

What a shame. I hope its Bassong, but I'd expect Cacapa. Wait?...Wha?..It's wierd for me to only hear about half our starting defense being injured 50 minutes before a match. I hadn't heard anything about this. -
Christ, Quaresma has to be the most selfish player in the world.

Is this the same Rafael that was made to look foolish by Shaun Maloney btw? The kid as of yet can't actually defend.

Wow..I actually didn't think Maradona was THAT short.

Don't really see what's wrong with the comments though. It is a bit over sensitive to attack him because he called Obama tan.

I honestly hope Arsenal smash Manchester United. Arsenal have no chance of winning the title anyway, but I don't want Man U to win anything ever again. I actually don't mind Arsenal or Chelsea at all but I wish ill will (in a football sense) on Manchester United and Liverpool.

Latest Liverpool player burgled on European night: Lucas Leiva
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to a topic in Football
I know jokes are made of this but it is not a funny topic at all. It is evident these players are being targeted. There was a gridiron player player in America last year, Sean Taylor, who home was broken into when he should have been away with his team. However, his injury had allowed him to stay back at his home. So when the thieves broke in, he was sleeping in his bed. The player ended up dying after being shot in the leg and bleeding out. I make it a personal quest to despise Liverpool, but imo this kind of crime is not amusing at all. -
Enrique's English didn't seem all that bad. He'll sound like Rafa with a few more months practice.

None of the English teams won this matchday.

You cant really drop Oba after Monday. He's such a confidence based player, and has to play when he's in the groove. I reckon JFK would pick Owen if he's available and i also think he'd drop Martins before Shola. I think JFK likes to have a bigger guy up front causing trouble. Bit ridiculous if you score a brace against the 5th team in the table and then get dropped. -
They both dive alot. But Ronaldo gets fouled alot more. Players with quick turns of pace like Ronaldo, Jonas, or even Oba tend to get fouled more than any other players imo, and it is no surprise that these type players are usually the most prolific divers.

It's funny, if you are to visit any other forum or place where people talk football, they are saying how much of a scum Barton is . People are saying things like, "Look at him. He gets a second chance, and this is how he acts. He should be permanently banned from football." I mean I'm no Barton sympathiser, but this is sheer insanity. He hasn't done anything. I mean goodness, watch a Stoke match and you will see much more disturbing violence. It would be another thing if he was racist in his insults, but there has been no evidence that he was (not even in the African players' reactions like in the Terry or Emre incidents), so what the hell are we talking about here. The real shocking thing is to see ex-footballers, who know how emotional it can be out on the pitch, lampoon Barton for someting so innocuous

Don't start this again. I beg of you. Although Ferdinand is the exact opposite of the kind of player we were going for. Overpriced average and British.
-
You can say alot of bad things about Oba. But you cannot say he is average. Anything but.

Really improved today. Happy about it. He's had a rough time off it lately. So, I hope this is him getting back on track, because I don't want the potential of that lightning kid I saw at Inter go to waste. Here's to him scoring many many more for Newcastle United.
