Gone into an absolutely terrible situation at Villa and if he keeps them up it's better than anything he did at Lyon. I actually think their squad is worse than ours.
-
McClaren clearly isn't getting good results so far, but he shouldn't be sacked for the following reasons. - The squad is full of absolute shite players who don't complement each other in any way possible. Not in formation, style of play, literally nothing. - The time he's had is not long enough to work with said shite bunch of players. Any ridiculous Klopp comparisons conveniently ignore the fact Liverpool clearly have very good players. - We don't need the return of the 'circus' club appointing random insane people from the 90's. - Lack of credible alternatives. Moyes' managerial career path is starting to look very similar to SMC anyway, and we sure as hell aren't attracting the likes of Ancelotti. - We aren't yet adrift. The alarm bells are certainly ringing, but there are 4 sides in the league who are just as bad as us, if not worse.
-
Today was exactly why I didn't want him playing CM for us, especially next to the weak as piss Anita. They just get bullied man.
-
Just been bullied. Total lightweight flimsy joke of a display.

I'm sorry but Garde has proven absolutely jack all as a manager apart from doing a relatively average job with Lille. Could he be the next Ancelotti? Absolutely, but he's nothing as a manager yet.
-
He just oozes class.
-
But not Steve McClaren and NUFC. Too fucking right He does, regularly Does he? Only seen them against Arsenal this year really.

The 3-4-3 diamond is something I want to see Guardiola try.
-
I picked Thauvin because our true wideman options read: Thauvin, Aarons, Obertan. Thauvin wins that shitlist for me, and I wanted a wideman in my side.
-
A victim of his own injuries, and the fact we have looked complete rubbish playing him in the only formation that suits him.
-
I'd rather play worse players in order to give the team better balance, basically.
-
Krul Janmaat Mbemba Colo Dummett Tiote Wijnaldum Colback Perez Mitrovic Thauvin My logic is basically very similar to Shak, apart from I don't trust Sissoko or Wijnaldum to give Tiote enough cover defensively.
-
It's a good point to mention PD has basically been chucked in the first team as soon as he's come back from an injury, with a limited pre-season as well. At his best he will be solid defensively while giving us nothing going the other way. I prefer that to Haidara.
-
Your 'ugly as hell' lineup isn't much different from the formation we play now, you're basically taking out a DM (Anita) and adding in a wide left forward.
-
I'm not sure from the little I've seen of Wijnaldum that he's particularly creative either. Strikes me as a much better and more consistent Sissoko. We are crying out for a Coquelin type DM who has the legs and aggression to hold by himself.
-
You say that like it's an obvious decision when it really isn't. Changing the team as you suggest would pretty much negate our top scorer's attacking contribution, to accommodate a player who has looked better in late cameos when he's come off the bench.

We played shit and won. The manager acknowledges that we played shit, got relatively lucky and won. Pardew would have been calling that 'a proper away performance' or whatever. It's one game, enjoy the victory. If performances continue in that manner then we have every right to criticise.
-
I'm confused by all the comments saying he got a roasting by Ritchie. He's quite a reactive defender so he very rarely gets beaten and gives away a lot of corners by blocking crosses. He's total crap going forward but so are the other options in that position. Mbabu needs to be a right back.
-
I don't understand the 'card waiting to happen' thing. Tiote has never been sent off for two yellows. A liability in possession today but he always has been.
-
I don't mind a win when we've played shite as long as we don't play shite every game.
-
I don't think it would. Woodman is quite highly rated, Elliot will never be anything more than a league 1 Pard-merchant. I'm not debating that, far from it. But we don't want to throw Woodman in and have him become the next Jak Alnwick. Keepers are very rarely ready for PL football at the age Woodman is.

Didn't Jenner play against us for AZ about 10 years ago?

What an enjoyable game this has been.
