L'ami Serge, Ned Stark, The New One, Sego Success, ew lucky 15.

I hope his decision making is as bad in other forms of life as it is in Football. As in him sitting at T junctions confused and crying, or just wandering round the supermarket with a trolley that goes round in circles.
-
One moment near the end of the game where he nearly floored Agbonlahor with a should charge, strong lad.

What self respecting person actually refers to themselves as 'brave'? It's like all this guy does is munch through cunt pills.
-
Does that mean we have to go to Derby forums and listen what they say about McLaran They all love him.
-
I'm guessing Stifler does know him? That's just weird though, I'd never get my mates name on my shirt.

I can't wait to enjoy the slow, painful demise of Pardew at Palace.
-
He's easily the best out and out defender at the club. Hope it's not a serious knee injury?
-
Love seeing a front two combine well.

How is it a brave decision to put on one of your best attacking players when 0-1 down with 20 mins left? The state of punditry man..
-
The subs from Carver were just... ugh
-
Stopping counter attacks is not pointless like?

One of the worst halves of Football in recent memory. It's pure Pardew though, make the game as shit/scrappy as possible and nick a goal somewhere.
-
Carver's team selections have been much better than Pardew's.

I'd give Warburton a chance, if you read some of the articles about him, properly seems to know what he's doing.

That's a rubbish argument, if he was capable/willing to progress his game then he would have. It took Christian Eriksen much less time to adapt to the league, and I don't really think Tim Sherwood was coaching him too much. Anita had the perfect opportunity to learn from a masterful player in Cabaye, but he hasn't taken it.

This is such a great point, and it absolutely infuriates me. The number of times he has played it to Willo, in a position where he has space to then take the ball forward a bit and pull the opposition out of place, so he can then play the ball (on the ground!) back to Anita or another of the midfielders so they can turn and be in a position to open up the pitch man! Instead Willo looks at the ball in terror and just hoofs it ... he's an embarrassment. Anita plays the way he does in anticipation of others continuing to shift the ball quickly over short spaces as they then look to move into better positions. Everyone has to have at least a similar mentality or it just doesn't work. You're right, but surely the man should have the ability to adapt his game to be more effective in other areas. Either don't give it to Willo in the first place or take it upon himself to use his ability to make more ambitious and creative passes rather than the quick safe short stuff. Or at least make a point of giving Willo an earful each time he slaps it into the stand. But he does nothing, just keeps his head down and gets back into position.

That's utterly irrelevant, you don't half hinder yourself in football discussions. In terms of a defined style of how to play, movement etc we are bottom 5 in the league, and there are some fucking horrendous teams in the Prem.

Abeid gave him a lesson in how to play in a deep lying midfield role in his 3-4 game span earlier this season, that is for sure. I think some people are being quite idealistic in saying CM's don't need to be overly physical, or dismissing the clear lack of prescence Anita shows on the pitch. And saying this doesn't mean I yearn for the days of Smudg 'n' Butt patrolling the midfield, just that we need better.

Sissoko was the only member of yesterday's 5 in midfield fit enough to press properly for the whole game unfortunately. Yup and he presses alone which leaves great big holes behind him. I wouldn't mind, our team drops off and doesn't even get particularly tight, it's so easy pass it around against us. This is Colback's biggest flaw by far, that it's his nature to just press like a nutter and either make the hero tackle, or more likely just get skinned. It's a shame, he's got many of the attributes to be a good deeper Box to Box player.

I agree with the majority of what you say, but to me, Anita is basically Joe Allen/Leon Britton. Unless we want to adopt a Swansea of old style of playing Barcelona football without the penetration, then he's not useful. Anita is far too safe with his passing and both him and Colback are guilty of cowardice in posession. Colback's style of defending is to press regardless of who presses with him, while Anita sits and holds off. I'd say that sums them both up, Colback more forward thinking but not always to the benefit of the team, Anita's game is ruled by safety and unambition, and not making the most of his superior technique. I would take Joe Allen and Leon Brittan over Tiote and Colback every day of the week. Sorry, but I like the pass and move game. I don't like this punt it up to the lad who can't even hold it up so it bounces back and we have to squabble for it and hit a flukey goal. What you described is pretty much what I think; Anita is more disciplined, Colback just wings it. Both limited but wouldn't you rather the limited player who listens? People need to realise of course I want a player better than Vurn, but at the minute, we're shite and we aren't going to attract central midfielders who do it all (We have one in Abeid, but he was nearly let go to Greece) so for me Vurn is the better long term choice for type of football and discipline. There are other ways of playing besides the two you mention though, and I don't think Colback is exclusive to the hoof it style (whereas Anita is basically exclusive to pass and move). How would I like us to play? Basically like France did in the world cup last year, real 4-3-3, equally capable of going shorter or more direct with quality techincal players to make it happen.

Disagree. They actually maintained possession in the middle of the pitch and approaching our goal at times. It's a far cry from our misleading possession stats where we pass it across the back 4 for ages, then punt it forward. Why do teams need to high press against us, when we do fuck all with the ball and just try to go back to front all the while? I'd much rather hang onto the ball and look to exploit an opening or drag someone out of position and capitalise on a moment of indiscipline. Than just play the percentages. All of that, whilst at the same time keeping the ball away from the opposition. It reminded me of the Allardyce days watching yesterday. It was also quite similar to England v Wales in the 6 Nations we seem to kick for territory an awful lot. Most average to decent teams at this level can manage to hold onto the ball for long spells surely? It's not as if our team is littered with cloggers either. We have a few of course. But it has to start with coaching and I don't think any of the fans have confidence in the current bunch of jokers. I doubt the players do either. See I'd say we let them have the ball as a conscious tactic as they were doing so little with it. We set up like an away side yesterday and our reliance on the counter attack to create chances speaks volumes about the people in charge, as you say. But do I want to see us keep the ball like that? Hell no. It's so easy to defend against a team that is so one dimensional with the ball and just cycles the ball between the fullbacks on the halfway line. To me, the best teams are varied in their style, have the ability to keep the ball, play more direct, know when to hold the ball and know when to press. Jupp Heynckes' Bayern side before Pep were fantastic at that, the way they destroyed Barca was brilliant.

Stoke kept the ball like that because they never tried to actively take any kind of risk. Defensive posession football is the worst kind to watch. Swansea under Rodgers were the worst, constantly passing it around the defenders like you do to wind someone up on FIFA.
